The following has been posted on TNA's website:
“Hulkamania” is back! The biggest name in professional wrestling history, Hulk Hogan, is joining Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling (TNA), the fastest rising wrestling organization in the world and home to one of cable television’s highest rated shows for young men, TNA iMPACT! The announcement was made today by TNA Wrestling in conjunction with Spike TV at a press conference held in New York City.
“Hulk Hogan is one of the world’s top pop culture icons and the biggest superstar in the history of professional wrestling. We are truly excited to welcome him into the TNA family,” said Dixie Carter, President of TNA Wrestling.
“Our goal is to become the world’s biggest professional wrestling company. Hulk defines professional wrestling and we look forward to partnering with him in a variety of ways as we continue to grow TNA globally.”
“I’m thrilled to be jumping back into the world of professional wrestling,” said Hogan. “My fans have been asking me to return to the business for many years on a full time basis, but the timing or the opportunity has never been right until now. TNA Wrestling is a great company with an already excellent fan base, business and broadcast partner. I firmly believe now is the time for some change at TNA as they are positioned to jump to the next level in their development and I’m here to work with Dixie to help make that a reality.”
Through Hogan’s partnership with Bischoff Hervey Entertainment Television, the deal with TNA was negotiated by longtime Hogan colleague Eric Bischoff. Additionally, BHE TV has inked a first-look deal with TNA and will be working with the organization to develop new programming extensions of the TNA brand.
“Hulk Hogan adds yet another level of star power that positions TNA iMPACT as Spike TV’s version of ‘Must-See TV’ on Thursday nights,” said Kevin Kay, president of Spike.
Hogan most recently penned an autobiography with Mark Dagostino, “My Life Outside The Ring” with St. Martin’s Press.

This is awesome. I just checked to make sure it wasn't April 1st. The only more surprising thing would have been the announcement that Shane-O-Mac had joined TNA.
A couple questions:
1. Why does this mean for TNA's supposed youth movement?
2. How will this affect the Australian Hulkamania tour?
3. Is Hogan too old to take TNA to the next level?
4. What is Vince McMahon thinking right now?
Big, big news.
5. How will Hogan interact with Vince Russo?
Maybe the most intriguing question of all.
This actually is big news. I just think it's going to backfire. Hogan may carry the belt.
I agree Andrew, how will Hogan and Russo interact and what will go down? That may actually make me watch TNA.
Damn, they will draw more than 1.3 for sure... This thursday I will watch TNA for the first time in 3 years...

Bye Bye Booker...Hello hogan
Bye Bye MEM...Hello Flair
Bye Bye Jim Cornette....Hello Eric Bischoff
I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm just not that amped up about this. Didn't TNA say a few months back that they were focused on pushing the young stars? Then, to prove their point, they go out and sign the one guy who's buried more young talent than anyone else in the business.
I heard that TNA also signed Bischoff. Not sure if that's true, but let me go on record as saying that Eric Bischoff is, bar none, the most overrated wrestling mind ever, and this is a terrible move on TNA's part.
The bottom line in TNA right now is that if their product continues to improve and get better through letting their young stars shine, they'll gain momentum with or without Hulk Hogan. However, if Hulk Hogan shows up and, well...is Hulk Hogan, then congratulations, TNA, you finally became the WCW part 2 that your detractors said for so long that you would one day become.
I just lost a long fuckin rant I was gonna post, so here's the short version.
How does signing 56 year old Hogan help TNA make it to the next level???
Is this the swan song Hogan has envisioned for himself??? Wrestling in front of maybe 2000 people at shows???
I don't see the win in this situation for either party, but what would I know, I'm just a lifelong fan right.
His appearance on Larry King the same day:
The fact that he didn't push TNA hard at all shows where Hogan's priorities are.
He basically ignored the TNA question and just continued promoting his own shit.
This whole story is overblown.
Wow so TNA really does want to be WCW
"I'm now working for a young company, TNA. Trying to make them just as big as the guys I used to work for."
That's all he had to say on Larry King, and he didn't even do that.
Instead he couldn't be assed to mention it which says to me he's not all that invested in it. Whether that's a good or bad thing is up to you.
This whole story is unbelievably overblown, if Hogan truly believed in this company, he'd try to make as big of a deal as it as possible on the huge national TV exposure on the VERY SAME DAY he signed on. Instead, it's a complete afterthought to him.
Frankly, this is probably another one of his schemes to get Vince to overpay for him again, by once again working TNA and it's management for the second time. Or at the very least, just another way to promote himself and his own ventures. Afterall Hogan always comes first.
Didn't Donnie say on the show last week or week before "not even Hulk Hogan could help the ratings in TNA?"
Weird that he made the comment and then it happens. Guess we will find out if he was right.
Does this mean the tour of Australia is cancelled???
Hopefully he will play more behind the scenes and not as much wrestling. Let's not be too judgemental. The guy walk in his own house and it was empty. Have any of ya'll been burned by a gal before? Or lost your wife. He's lucky enuff that his kids are grown so he didn't lose his children. Which is harder than losing money.
Plus homeboy's bout to get hit with a large lawsuite from the accident. He's doing what he's gotta do. Getting his money up and getting back to where he's gotta be.
When the going got rough, real rough. The gal took as much as she could and ran. How many years later. In a way it sucks but you gotta play them first so they don't play you. That one you learn the hard way. Do what ya gotta do Hulk, I aint't mad at ya, just make it dope.
Let's not forget Bischof and Hogan did take WCW to another level and changed wrestling.
Perhaps they have both learned from their mistakes and maybe not focus on taking on Vince again but solidifing their place in wrestling history for innovation.
Can you say the new leader of the Main Event Mafia??! Remember Scott Steiner said the MEM is not dead and Nash aint spoke on it. The New NWO? IF Flair comes in too then we may have more too follow.
Now some how I don't think that Hogan is the announcement Eric Young was talking about so then whats Young's announcement?
Lets look at TNA Roster:
Sting, Scott Steiner, Kurt Angle , Kevin Nash, Samoa Joe, Hulk Hogan, AJ Stles, Bobby Lashley, Rhyno, Team 3D, Robert Roode, Jeff Jarret, Hernandez, The World Elite,
Eric Young, Abyss, Mick Foley, I can keep goin with more talent.
Not to mention the Knockouts.
Hogan is TNA champ in 2 months, book it.
Hogan coming to TNA is the opposite of what they should be doing. We've been saying that the younger guys should be pushed so long that the younger guys arent even young anymore! Besides a bit of curiosity the first week or so, what will this do in the long run?
How many times has a star been brought in that was supposed to change the face of TNA? Foley? Nash? Sting? Angle? Christian? Joe? The Dudleys? Jeff Hardy? Oh, please. Its such an old song.
Havent we've been hearing about how banged up Hogan is. This isnt rumors and shit. Hogan talks about it. I dont want a guy that just had a gun in his mouth on my roster. So he had a bad divorce? Whah! No wrestler has a good marriage. He's broke? Whah! So are plenty of others. Get a better lawyer next time. Spend time with your dumb ass kid that loves to speed. Stop banging your daughters friends. Hogan gets no sympathy from me.
