Tha A Show continues to dominate pro wrestling television. The stars aren't exactly interchangeable but you can put someone in a place they've never been before and not only is it believable it's intriguing. A month ago whodathunk Jack Swagger and Ricky Ortiz would be facing off to determine the number one contender?
You have a show with the two aforementioned guys, who were considered undercard weeks ago, Finlay, Henry, MVP, and Matt Hardy, and it makes DJ Gabriel seem somewhat interesting as well. Even the announcers are top notch. This show is hitting on ALL cylinders.
Maybe you're someone who thinks I put over this show too much, maybe not. But even the injured superstars are more interesting than other brands stars. Evan Bourne has probably made you think, "What's he going to do when he gets back? Who will he feud with?"
Whereas Kennedy and Umaga, it's more like "Oh yeah, those guys are gone." No disrespect to them, but they're just another cog in the murder machine on their brands. On ECW everything matters, there is no filler, and there isn't even any terrible workers. ECW's champ can work, so can Edge on "SmackDown." What do you have "Raw?" Oops sorry.
Back to Jack Swagger and Ricky Ortiz for a minute. It wasn't the main but that's ok, the champ was the main and the match followed the opening segment where they were the focal points. It makes sense with the flow. They aren't quite ready to go back and let anticipation build. Give it the instant gratification. That sometimes is better.
I will give love to Ricky though, making fun of Swagger's Dusty Rhodes voice was funny. Usually I don't go for the making fun of to get a pop or heat, but it worked here. What else would he do? Make fun of his hair? I can see why he would, but the lisp makes it more personal and builds that both guys are after a bigger prize. The match wasn't announced to determine the #1 contender, but if Swagger doesn't get a shot, then it's just dumb.
There was an MVP sighting on ECW as well, and he didn't get pinned when we first saw him. He did later, but hey take what you can get. MVP is a guy with top-tier talent in every aspect. I cannot for the life of me figure out who he rubbed the wrong way, or what storyline this is leading to. Dwayne Gill is laughing at him.
We'll get Finlay and Henry and their respective mascots soon and I just can't wait. Ok, so I'm lying, I can, but I still think it'll be entertaining to see. Once again ECW puts on a solid showing. Aside from DJ Gabriel's dancing the show went off without a hitch. The dancing thing needs to be tweaked. Give them Abba's "Dancing Queen" or something.
Each week from now on there will be a song suggestion in this article for Gabriel and the hot hot Alicia Fox. If you're reading this and have a song in mind, throw it in on the comments and it may be the song used next week, who knows.
Quick results...
*Jack Swagger def. Ricky Ortiz to become #1 contender (tentatively)
*DJ Gabriel def. Local Athlete
*Matt Hardy def. MVP

HHH put a year in the negative before he became top dog. Maybe Mvp is just putting it in till they move him to raw to tangle with Wactista or Cena.........
u wana see the a show, start watchin tna
by the way, the panthers are gona get crushed on monday
lol, you must be talkin about hockey...
Panthers are going down on Monday night.
SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!
WOW. Panther hate on Tha O Show. That's sad.
I'll be there so we'll see. I doubt the camera crew will venture into section 523, but if they do I'll be the one in the electric blue Peppers jersey in the first half and black Delhomme in the second.
Let a Buc step out of line, you'll think what I did to Ken Lucas is nothing.
He tore my ass up too, so I'd watch out.
Steve Smith, you think what you did to Ken Lucas was bad? Wait until you see what we do to Jake Delhomme.
Think about how good it felt when Cory Boyd bulldozed you. If that happened in college wait until Jonathon Stewart hits you on Monday night in the pros. Then watch D-Will break your ankles.
That's an excellent point, #3
Wait a minute. 3? Wasn't that the number of points you scored last time you played the Bucs?
As a matter of fact it was. Good one. That burns.
You still might want to ask Jeff Garcia how much confidence he has in his coach and vice versa.
