Jeff Hardy Suspended

It is no mystery now that Jeff Hardy has been suspended for his second violation of the WWE's Wellness Policy. His second violation brings with it a 60 Day Suspension. This is Jeff Hardy's second strike, one more offense and he will be released from the WWE.

Even though this is Jeff Hardy's second violation of the current Wellness Policy, he is certainly no stranger to issues with substance related issues. The story though, seems to have more to it than was originally reported.

Jeff Hardy has seemingly been in for a push over the last few months, and now it appears that he has blown that chance. But even though he did violate the policy for a second time, the WWE could have still allowed him to work TV, and even WrestleMania. He'd have been working for free though.

The amendment to the drug policy is as follows: "Second Offense. In the event of a second positive result for drugs prohibited by this Policy other than marijuana, the Talent shall be fined an amount equal to 60 days' pay deducted from your downside guarantee on a weekly basis. The Company may, at its discretion, schedule the Talent to work selected televised events without pay, pay-per-views with pay and non-televised live events with a $200 stipend per event during the 60-day suspension period. Alternatively, in cases where the Talent appears to be in need of a drug rehabilitation program, the Talent shall not be assigned to work until the individual has successfully completed the drug rehabilitation program. However, regardless of the length of the program, the Talent's fine shall be limited to 60 days' pay."

Highlighted in bold is what may, or may not be causing Jeff Hardy to be pulled from everything at the last minute. With this bit of information, it is possible that Jeff Hardy will be sent to, or asked to attend a Drug Rehab program.

Does anyone know what drug he was using? My guess would be painkillers, and if it is he should really get help. Steroids seem to get the most attention, but its the painkillers that do the most damage.

Does anyone know what EXACT drugs are prohibited by this policy?

I don't know exactly what drugs are prohibited, at least in list form. I do know that any drug that is prescribed is LEGAL, as long as the prescription is valid. Thus the reason Angle didn't fail many tests, and Benoit didn't either. If the prescription is invald, either expired, or not prescribed to the individual it is a violation of the Policy and grounds for a 30 or 60 day suspension depending on the times the given wrestler has violated the policy. On the 3rd time, as stated several times the wrestler is required to be released.

Illegal drugs, crack, coke, meth and the like, with the exception of marijuana is a violation as well. Marijuana is also illegal, but apparently the results of testing positive for that is a slap on the wrist and a "Don't do that again." Speeding and weeding is a whole different story, ask RVD and Sabu, but that isn't covered by the Wellness Policy exactly, so it's dealt with on a per-person basis.

While I didn't give you any details that haven't been said before, I hope I cleared it up in some way. If not, sorry.

In that case, you'll probably be glad to know that an unconfirmed source backstage has said that Vince McMahon is more than content using Hardy as a political pawn to push the wellness policy (toting that not even main event superstars are exempt from it). Not only that, but according to the same source, Hardy has basically shot his entire career in the foot. Upon return, he will be shoved squarely in the midcard, and very likely has cost himself a chance at ever being WWE Champion (which is a shame since the E apparently did plan to give him a run with the belt sometime within this calendar year).

This is largely just dirt sheet speculation at this point; I'm not sure how much of this has been confirmed, but I wouldn't doubt any of it, knowing Vince and knowing Hardy's history. Sucks for him.

Hardy is so stupid. He is in the biggest push of his career and he blows it by taking drugs. I hope Punk wins the MITB match at WM.

I am like the biggest Hardy fan and the thing im pissed about most is that he was booked to win MITB. Now when he comes back they might not even push him. I hope CM Punk wins now caz he needs to get out of ecw and go to smackdown.

Thanks DJB, that clears up some of it. Question now is, what kind of credentials does the doctor need to have? I'm sure I can find a doctor practicing out of Upper Mongolia (or at least his website) that will prescribe me anything I am willing to pay for.
'Hey Vince, Dr Dre gave me a scrip for some crack, it's cool.'
That's too bad because here in the good ol USA you can find a doctor to prescribe just about anything legally available, as shown in the Benoit case. Which, pretty much, makes the whole wellness policy useless.

You hit the nail on the head Chris. That's the big gripe with the Wellness Policy. Any doctor, anywhere, anytime can perscribe anybody with anything. Leaves alot of "loopholes" within the Policy itself. The Policy itself is supposed to be more effecient now, but it isn't. They are testing and suspending, and making that public knowledge, but it still leaves alot of leniency...at least for the ones the E wants it to be lenient towards.

If Dr. Hook perscribes Wrestler C with 100000000000000 uses/cycles of DecaDurabolin, then Wrestler C is golden, but if Wrestler B tests positive for it, with no perscription he's fucked. As would be Wrestler A who Dr. Hook perscribed with it 6 months ago, but the perscription went dead a month before he tested positive.

I hate to add speculation to it, but word is that it's alcohol. Jeff has been known to hammer em down with the boys and has also been rumored to close down bars with Michael PS Hayes. He is also apparently already in rehab.

Alcohol doesn't really fit the description, but it IS possible that they told him to go Rehab and he said, No, no, no...oops, sorry, but anyway, he could have been in really bad shape and this was how they helped(if you chose to see it that way) him.

There is another comment that has surfaced on the net saying that Vince has been waiting and wanting this moment. He wanted to kick a top star in the ass before Mania to show Congress he was serious. And who better to be a whipping boy than Jeff Hardy? Nobody! That's who.
