Tuesday Turn-Table

There a bunch of stories swarming this week, and just in case we don’t have time to touch on all of them during Tha O Show radio program – I present to you … a turn-table of items for you to peruse at your leisure.

Rumors are swarming that UFC match maker is looking at pitting Brock Lesnar up against Cheick Kongo in his next fight. Kongo was set up to look strong last weekend against a glorified tomato can so that he could be fed to Lesnar.

Kongo was out-wrestled and man handled by Heath Herring – the same Heath Herring that Lesnar destroyed 3 days ago.

Legendary wrestler / trainer Walter “Killer” Kowalski appeared to have contracted pneumonia recently and slipped into a coma. It has now been learned that Kowalski actually had excessive fluid in his lungs. As recently as today, it was reported that his heart rate was improving and he is able to open his eyes and recognize people around hmi.

Bob Holly (real name Bob Howard) was apparently relieved that his name wasn’t on the list of cuts last week. Holly has been hearing whispers that he would be let go. He’s 45 years old, very injury prone and has a reputation for being too stiff with young talent. Many in management view him as a bully, while other vets embrace him as an enforcer. Holly is hoping that one of the vets with pull (like Triple H, or The Undertaker) will speak up on his behalf and preserve his pay cheque.

In a related story, Tha O Show has learned that more cuts will be coming in September.

We have often discussed on Tha O Show Radio Program the relative merits of an LAX split and the marketing potential of a singles run for big Hernandez. Vince Russo is apparently pushing hard for this while Jarrett and other are dead set against it – mainly because LAX t-shirts are the top selling item TNA has to offer.

A trial run is being attempted this week on Impact when Hernandez takes on one half of the new tag team champs, James Storm in a singles match..

Check out this “promo” that features recently released Domino and WWE developmental talent Timmy Baltimore. I don’t know if this is bad – or so bad it rules.

This just in – Kennedy is hurt and will be out of action for at least the next few weeks. Follow up story: nobody will notice.

A more noticeable absence is that of recent WWE champion Randy Orton. He had been cleared by doctors to return to the ring and was scheduled to appear at SummerSlam. Those plans may be off as Orton was involved in a motorcycle accident over the weekend and re-injured his separated shoulder.

The Hulkster turned 55 yesterday. Is it just me or does it seem like he’s been 55 since 1991?

In a related story, there are rumors that Hogan is asking for a reformation of D-X with himself as the crotch chopping icon who can still go.

Apparently McMahon is all for it, if it comes with incest storylines that involve the former heavyweight champ, future Playboy model Brooke, and his jailbird son Nick.
