Tha Raw Report: Ocho Cinco

I was impressed right out of the gate with "Raw." Well not right off. The backstage segment with Cena and Orton could have been a little more cheesy, but not much. What I was impressed with was the fact that the WWE is working to get Daniel Bryan over. Well, more over.

They may get themselves into a dilemma soon. What are they going to do if he gets more over than "their" stars? I guess they'll just treat him like they do the rest of the talent more over than the big few and ignore them.

To have the receiver formerly known as Johnson put over Daniel Bryan that way was pretty nice. The Miz got himself some more great heel heat and Daniel Bryan did his own thing. The LaBelle lock looks great on TV and is pretty over as a move. Miz should have gotten more TV time though.

I know I'm probably the only person in the world who actually liked the fact that Edge and Bourne were in a "Bodyslam Challenge." I would have liked to see Bourne with a smaller guy, but I still popped.

Another "Raw" Roulette thing I loved was the concept of the "Trading Places" match with Goldust and Regal. I say concept because Bill Regal and Goldust should have been given time, and should have put on a clinic. Those are two older guys that can still go.

I'm not going to get on my William Regal should get a run soapbox, or my Goldust should be given a run gold box, but dammit, they should. I loved the finish with Goldust going old school Regal with the brass knuckles, but it should have come after a blocked Shattered Dreams from Regal.

The Chris Jericho thing is driving me insane. Why do so much with it? Maybe it's because there is actually a problem and they don't know how it's going to workout contractually. That still doesn't justify the jerk around. Are they doing it to further the GM storyline?

The GM storyline, as I've said before has to be a rib. That or the E forgot it was important for a while and didn't book it, and then snapped it back to life and are going to use this to get Edge and possibly Jericho to "SmackDown" for the debut on SyFy.

I did pop for Jericho calling Cole an idiot and burying the 2003 text message notification. I didn't get the booking of the cage match, but whatever. It got the Hart Dynasty on TV, and it put Jericho over, and I love seeing Jericho go over. For God's sake he's the best in the world at what he does.

One thing that I loved, and made me scratch my head was the fact that the WWE is going to stick with getting Morrison, like they didn't with Bourne. The thing that made me scratch my head was his backstage Parkour display. I know it's a big part of his life, and a big deal in some circles.

It's more of an activity than a workout, so why was he expending energy like that before a match with the WWE Champion? Maybe nobody else noticed it, and maybe it didn't bother them, but I just didn't really get it. I wasn't upset, just slightly perplexed by it. Nice to see Jericho keep his feud with Morrison alive too.

Overall I wasn't disappointed. I was highly pleased that the WWE advertised an occurrence for an upcoming program, instead of just advertising their upcoming program. I touched on it last week, and they just so happened to do it that week. WWE can get some really good things going. They just have to keep with them.

I actually watched the show and was really happy with it. I was shocked. And it wasnt just because I watched Impact! last week and was horrified.

Miz got plenty of time. He got the whole segment with Ocho Cinco and his match and the stalling and the beat down of Daniels and then getting beat down. He had a good chunk of time.

The Orton/Cena match was great. Even the fact NXT came in did nothing but make it that much more interesting. And the run in's by Edge, Jericho, and Sheamus were all done well. And the fucking finish?! That was one of the best timed RKO's ever. I actually thought Cena won for a second until I saw the replay. I dare say if they keep this kinda pace up Raw will be fine without HHH and HBK.

Overall Id say I agree with you. Raw wasnt terrible it just wasnt spectacular. I myself was amped for the Raw Roulette, although its fixed it adds excitment and even a small throwback to everyones favorite, The Attitude Era. I get having Cena/Ortons match decided at the begining of the night, you do have to promote your main event. But def. agree on the cheese factor. Thought the Bryan/Miz thing could have gone another way. Not that it was bad, just could have been done differently. The whole world knew Mizs opponant would be Bryan, why not introduce hi first then spin the wheel and land on subission match? Just makes more sense to me. As a Miz mark(sorry Donnie) I loved the hernia bit. I thought he was legit pissed at A-Ry(yup) as well when he shoved hi and said get away. I too was perplexed about Morrisons pre match segment. Reminded me of the Warrior getting gassed running to the ring. But that was a good solid match, and Y2Js involvment blended story lines. Speaing of Y2J if you guys are looking for another G.I.F.G. segment look no further than that match(you get a 2 for 1 cuz King is involved as well). As the match started King said the only way to win is by pinfall or climbing over the cage, which made me question what happend to submissions. After DH Smith left over the top and Kidd and Jericho came crashing down Cole said something to the effect of down to Kidd and Jericho the only way to win is by climbing over the cage, pinfall or submission. So I guess its more of a K.I.F.G. moment but neither one mentioned leaving via the door, which came into play. Wasnt too big on The Edge/Bourne match but thought it had to be going somewhere and that was Henry, and again blended story lines as Henry and Bourne have been pretty buddy buddy on tv lately. Maybe it was just me but Edge seemed a little...off? Maybe I dont know just didnt seem like himself. Really enjoyed Regal/Goldust and even Truth/Eve/Dibiase/Maryes(although I hate R Truth). The main even was solid(which I dont say much about a Cena match). Love that they actually finished the match(you watching still Hogan). The bodys everywhere was a nice touch and Ortons RKO while in the Attitude Adjustment only adds to the "Orton can hit it at anytime" stigma. Overall a good Raw and I'm finally intrigued about Night of Champions.

Now, let's hold the phone on this. Bourne is still on the show. They didn't ship him anywhere, but was he really going anywhere farther up the chain than maybe a US title run? I don't think so.

I think the main problem I have is that the Nexus doesn't have individual feuds. If they get to show their asses on every week, let them have feuds with some of the smaller players, let them have a rub.

I see you didn't mention love or hate for the gimmick roulette. Why the hell they just don't make that a PPV?

Would love to see a "double up" roulette, two stips per match.
