According to WWE.com, Daniel Bryan has been released from the company. The story was buried in their news section where all releases normally appear.Many within the industry and within the company believe this is an angle being used to push the NXT invasion storyline along.
According to PWInsider, Bryan was released because of his actions during the assault on Raw. Bryan choked ring announcer Justin Roberts with his own tie. This violates the "Benoit rule"; you cannot use the ropes or other objects to choke / strangle your opponent.
Interestingly enough, the release posting on WWE.com doesn't identify Daniel Bryan by his real name (which has become common practice)and the choking incident has been left unedited on WWE's YouTube channel.
Daniel Bryan's Twitter page has been changed to Bryan Danielson, and the only thing he has posted since the release was made public is "Just changed my twitter name to Bryan Danielson. The winds of change are stirring."
Danielson was the Wrestling Observer's top technical wrestler of the year for the last 4 years.

Several ppl within the WWE have told Tha O Show today that Bryan's release is not a work...
Still feels like a work, you mean to tell me every online wrestling mark is going to read that and not tune in on Monday? they have also been hinting that Daniel Bryan would begin wrestling as Bryan Danielson

The word is the firing is legit...all because someone complained over him choking Justin Roberts with his tie during the invasion Monday...
Here's what could have happened. It's a Montreal situation. Vince tells Danielson to throttle Roberts and says he'll then fire him. so everyone believes it's shoot except McMahon and Danielson. The internet fans (which is most people now) go crazy with anger about it. It reaches a fever pitch and he's brought back with a massive push.
