Cole "Magrinho" Miller (15-4-0, 155 lbs.) vs. "The Upgrade" Dan Lauzon (12-2-0, 155 lbs.)
Lauzon starts out with a low leg kick, but is kept on the outside by Miller. Lauzon throws some punches, but Miller blocks and tries to pull guard. Doesn't work, Lauzon rocks Miller and takes him to the ground, Miller pulls guard, recovers, gets to his feet and throws his own punch.
We're locked in a clinch with both guys throwing knees. Miller leaps with a knee, doesn't connect, still locked in the clinch, both men throwing knees, we finally break with 3:15 left in the round.
Miller throws a kick, Lauzon catches it and holds the leg as he throws punches and pushes Miller back to the cage. We're back into the clinch, throwing punches, break, and Lauzon takes Miller's back, throws some punches from behind, takes him down to the mat, but he's too high, Miller is able to transition around to Lauzon's back, slips off, Miller is able to grab an arm, goes for a Triangle, switches it into a Kimoura, Lauzon tries to roll out but then decides to tap out!
WINNER: Cole "Magrinho" Miller d. "The Upgrade" Dan Lauzon @ 3:05 of Round 1 by Submission (Kimoura). Joe Rogan asks Cole Miller if he was hurt by Lauzon's big left earlier, Cole says, "Was I? I don't remember!" We run through the replay, Miller didn't even recognize it. He follows up, "I don't promise to win every fight, but I do promise to fight every fight."
Jake Ellenberger (21-5-0, 170 lbs.) vs. Mike "Quicksand" Pyle (18-6-1, 170 lbs.)
Ellenberger takes the center of the ring and comes out flying with punches and takes down Pyle in the first 30 seconds. Pyle wraps around Ellenberger, then sits up to to rto throw some strikes, tries to captures Ellenberger's arms while throwing some punches to the head from the bottom.
Pyle has his legs wrapped around the body, looking for a submission. Pyle transitions and gets Ellenberger's left arm trapped as he tries to free his right arm. Ellenberger gets an arm free and throws an elbow to the face, 3:00 left in the round. Ellenberger finally slips his arms out, but Pyle pulls the left arm back in with his leg, uses that to pull Ellenberger back into his ground and throws some punches and elbows.
Pyle continnually traps Ellenberger's arms, switching from one to another, keeping him from being able to posture up and fight. Ellenberger finally gets to his feet with 1:38 left, and pulls completely back. Pyle lays on his back preparing to upkick, referee Yves Lavigne stansd them up. Ellenberger scorews another big takedown, Pyle right back into guard and controlling Ellenberger's hands.
Pyle snags the right arm and tries for the Kimoura, he's got it pulled out and is trying to crank it towards the head, but Ellenberger is able to hold him off, 30 seconds left, Pyle eventually gives it up. Ellenberger breaks free and starts throwing hammerfists to the head and ribs, time expires!
Rount Two starts with Pyle keeping his right arm very close to those ribs, he rushes in and Ellenberger flies back with lefts and rights, Pyle goes down, Ellenberger moves in and finishes him with the ground 'n pound and that's it!

Martin "the Hitman" Kampmann (15-3-0, 170 lbs.) vs. Jacob "Christmas" Volkmann (9-1-0, 170 lbs.)
Round One starts out with both fighters being very cautious, feeling each other out. Volkmann swings first, nothing connecting, Kampmann takes his time responding back, not wanting to get too far into Volkmann's reach. Kampmann tries to tie him up, but Volkmann escapes, one minute gone. Kampann throws a big left, but Kampmann responds with a left on the button that drops Volkmann, Volkmann pops right back up. Kampmann pushes forward to push Volkmann back to the cage, Volkmann makes a few wild swings to get back to the middle of the ring.
Kampmann throws some good combos, Volkmann ties him up and hits a few punches, Kampmann escapes and backs up, but keeps Volkmann on the cage. Volkmann tries to charge but Kampmann puts him back on the ground with some punches, Volkmann pulls guard. 2:00 left, Kampmann trades punches on the ground, gets up and tries to throw bombs, avoiding the upkicks.
Kampmann drops back down and goes into Volkmann's half guard. Kampmann choses to stand back up, grabs the legs, Volkmann nails the side of the head with a knee, but Kampmann goes to down with punches, goes for a Guillotine Choke IT IS ALL OVER!

"The Filipino Wrecking Machine" Mark Munoz (6-1-0, 185 lbs.) vs. Ryan Jensen (15-4-0, 185 lbs.)
Munoz comes out swinging, but Jensen is not intimidated, throwing kicks in response and easily avoiding Munoz's punches. Jensen trie sfor a flying knee, Munoz goes to block, Jensen grabs the neck and pulls Munoz down into a Guillotine Choke, but releases as we pass the one minute mark, Munoz gains side control and then the back of Jensen. Jensen gets to his feet, twirls around and puts the fists to Munoz, putting him on the cage and trying for a takedown.
Munoz blocks, tries to go for his own takedown, Jensen blocks it. Munoz throws him aside and down to the mat at 3:15 left, Jensen goes into full guard and tries for a body triangle. Munoz throws hammerfists and punches, Jensen blocks them. Munoz gets to his feet, throws a big right and goes for hammer fists, Jensen gets tagged hard, rolls to his body and covers up, he's tapping IT IS ALL OVER!

MAIN PPV CARD:
Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan welcome us to the pay-per-view portion of the show, giving us the run-down of tonight's card.
Junior Dos Santos (9-1-0, 238 lbs.) vs. "The Hurricane" Gilbert Yvel (36-13-1, 1 NC, 225 lbs.)
Del Santos get to open tonight's card and make a statement, having taken out Mirko "Cro Cop" Flipovich in his biggest UFC fight to date and is 3-0 in the promotion. Yvel is making his UFC debut, he is a veteran fighter who has fought all over the world, not only in MMA but Muay Thai, and has a background in kickboxing. Most of his wins have come by knockout, six of them with deadly-accurate knee strikes, his last opponent was former UFC competitor Pedro Hizzo.
Round One starts with some light punches, Yvest goes for a spinning back kick that gets blocked, they both rush forward for punches, then back off. Dos Santos pushes forward with combination punches, pushes Yves back to the cage, but Yves counter-punches his way back to the middle and lands a blow. Dos Santos with a low leg kick, Yvel counters with a right and a body kick. Yvel takes his time and measures out a left leg kick to the head that connects, but Dos Sandos with a stiff left that drops Yvel, Dos Santos moves in for the kill and Yvel rolling around but not defending, Herb Dean steps in to end it!
WINNER: Junor Dos Santos d. Gilbert Yvel @ 2:07 of Round One by TKO (Punches). Yvel protests the stoppage but Herb Dean explains that he was out on his knees. Dos Santos says, "First, I want to say Happy New Year for everybody! Man, I love this! I love to be a fighter, I love this place, I love you guys, this is amazing!" Joe Rogan shows us the replay, Dos Santos' trainer says that they were expecting Yvel's punch and had trained to throw the low counter punch.
Jim Miller (15-2-0, 155 lbs.) vs. Duane "Bang" Ludwig (27-9-0, 155 lbs.)
Ludwig makes his return to UFC after a four-year abscence, and he holds the unofficial record of fastest UFC knockout of Jonathan Goulet of 4 seconds, but official fight time was 11 seconds. Ludwig took this fight on just two weeks notice as Miller's scheduled opponent, Sean "Muscle Shark" Sherk, pulled out due to a cut over his eye. Sherk himself was replacing Tyson Griffin, who pulled out for an undisclosed injury. I'm not sure what to expect of this fight. Mario Yammosaki is the referee.
Ludwig starts out with his straight right, Miller counters with a left of his own. Slow start as both men feel each other out for the next 30 second. Miller pushes forward with punch combos and a high kick followed by an inside leg kick. Judwig with a punch and kick combo of his own as we go one minute into the fight.
Miller takes solid control of the center of the ring, keeping Ludwig circling on the outside. Ludwig advances forward with punches and starts to make Miller circle. Ludwig moves in with a left strike, Miller counters with his own left, Ludwig goes down, Miller right on top of him and moves into full mount with 3:00 left. Miller pulls an arm out and locks in an armbar, Ludwig tries to defend it but isn't able to hang on forever, Ludwig taps!
WINNER: Jim Miller d. Duane "Bang" Ludwig @ 2:31 of Round One by Submission (Armbar). Miller says that he wants to thank Ludwig for stepping up after his last two opponents pulled out, and thanks the fans for show up for his fight. Rogan leads us through the end of the fight, Miller says he's been working on his striking every day to get better.
We fill a few minutes promoting WEC: Varner vs. Henderson on Sunday, January 10, 9PM ET live on Versus, featuring Jamie Varner vs. Ben Henderson to unify the Lightweight title, and the return of Uirjah Faber against Raphael Assunaco in Featherweight action. We fill more time with a replay of Cole Miller vs. Dan Lauzon, which aired on the Spike TV preliminaries earlier.

Joe "J-Lau" Lauzon (17-4-0, 155 lbs.) vs. Sam "Hands of Stone" Stout (15-5-1, 155 lbs.)
We just saw Joe Lauzon's brother Dan in a replay from earlier, now his brother gets a shot. Both of these men are described as being the future of the Lightweight division. Lauzon says that he will find a submission any way he can, but he's going to be doing it against a man who has only been submitted twice in his career.
Round One starts with a friendly tap of the gloves, the Lauzon punches low to the body, followed by a successful takedown of Stout and gets inside his half guard, all within the first 30 seconds. Stout tries to escape, Lauzon keeps him down, throwing punches to the head and pushing him up o the cage. Lauzon DIVES onto Stout's arm and has it wrapped up, either for an armbar or a Kimoura. Stout rolls all over the place to get a break and finds an escape, but he comes out of it with a nasty cut over his right eye. Lauzon moves right back in with strikes, picking his spots to throw combinations.
Lauzon shots for a single-leg takedown, Stout tries to block it, hobbles around and throws some punches, Lauzon is hanging on and pulls Stout down, pushes him up against the cage. Lauzon is looking for an underhook, Stout gets to his feet, Lauzon throws a knee to hte body, Stout uses the opportunity to escape. Lauzon tries to shoot again, but Stout blocks it, Lauzon takes opportunity to pull Stout down into the guard. Stout throws some punches, his corner is warning him to not let Lauzon get his legs high on the body to attempt a submission.
Under two minutes left in this round, Stout rolls around, is able to pull out and get on his feet. Lauzon comes out swinging, Stout counters with a left hook that connects. Lauzon tries for another takedown, Stout counters with an uppercut, followed by a body shot, more uppercuts and a leg kick to the head. Lauzon with a left that connects, Stout doesn't let him escape without eating a right.
Lauzon with a right, Sout with a right, body kick, Lauzon with a right to the cut over Stout's eye. Stout's corner is calling for shots to the liver, he throws it and connects. Lauzon goes for a leg kick, Stout catches it and throws a right to the head, moves in for uppercuts, spinning back fist. Lauzon comes back with a punch combo but we get the horn! Stout is bleeding pretty good over the eye. On the replay we see that Lauzon threw an elbow on the ground to open that cut up
Round Two starts with Stout going on the offensive, Lauzon goes for the takedown and Stout not only stuffs him, but throws him aside! Stout with a left hook to the liver again, followed by punch combos and a left leg kick to the head, more punch combos and a right leg kick to the body.
Stout goes for a knockout kick, Lauzon gets grazed but he still goes down, Stout tries to pounce but Lauzon ends up on top, Stout pulls him into guard. Lauzon locks his arms around Stout's legs as Stout uses the cage to try to get back to his feet. Stout gets to his feet and escape, throws a left hook and a right leg kick combo. 3:15 left in the round, Lauzon grabs a leg and tries for a takedown, Stout blocks it an staggers to the cage, referee warns him not to hold on to the cage. Stout escape the takedown attempt again, we go back to the middle of the ring where they start slugging it out, 2:30 left in the round.
Stout pours on several punches that Lauzon can't block. Lauzon fires back, Stout counters with several kicks followed by punches. Stout closes the gap with a left punch and a right elbow to the head. Lauzon advances and Stout lights him up with punch combos followed by another body kick, you can see the side of Lauzon welting up. Lauzon shoots, Stout blocks him, Lauzon pulls guard on him. Both men get to their feet, 1:00 left in the round. Stout tries for several uppercuts, now leading with it and following with a straight left, alternating with body kicks.
Lauzon tries for another takedown, Stout stuff it and Lauzon pulls him back down into full guard again. Stout isn't giving him opportunity to do much, though. 10 seconds left, Stout throws a big right elbow as the horn sounds. During the break Stout's corner tells him to look for Lauzon to go for big punches only, so just keep him on edge with the inside and outside leg kicks. Lauzon's corner tells him to stick to their gameplan.
Round Three starts with a slugfest, Lauzon trying to dominate, goes for a takedown, Stout stuff is, we go back up to the feet. Both sides slugging again, Stout getting the upper-hand. Lauzon goes for a body kick that grazes Stout's chest, but he counters with good punches right to the head. Stout with a left-right-left-punch combo and a kick to the head. Stout with more punches and an inside leg kick.
Another body kick, 3:45 left, Lauzon is covering up, ducking sideways and trying to throw punches. Lauzon tries to shoot for a leg, Stout again blocks it, we stay on the feet. Stout with another left punch to the river, right head shot, left hook to the body, a kick. Stout goes for the inside leg kick again Lauzon keeps covering up. Lauzon shoots for the leg again and Stout throws him aside like garbage, fans pop for it! Stout is completely relentless throwing the punch/body kick combos, all Lauzon is able to do is try to block. Stouts corner is calling out instructions and Stout is executing perfectly, 2:00 left in the fight.
Stout throws a body kick, Lauzon catches it, drives forward and gets the takedown, Stout goes into full guard. Lauzon tries to throw elbows to the head, trying to pass, gets half guard with 90 seconds left. Lauzon moves up and grabs the head, goes for a Guillotine Choke, 1:20 left, Stout gets to his feet and escapes, the crowd comes alive! Lauzon dives for a single-leg takedown, Stout stuffs it. Lauzon's corner is telling him that Stout can't hurt him and to press forward.
45 seconds left, Lauzon goes back to covering up and Stout throwing whatever punches he wants, lefts, rights, uppercuts, OOH big uppercut at 28 seconds, Lauzon tries for a takedown and Stout again stuffs it withan uppercut. Stout tries for a Superman Punch, gets bocked, follows up with a spinning back fist, also blocked. Lauzon tries for punches, Stout pushes forward and closes out this round with a flurry of punches! This fight is going to the judges!
THE OFFICIAL DECISION: 30-26, 30-27 and 30-27 for a Unanimous Decision... SAM "HANDS OF STONE" STOUT! Joe Rogan calls this "easily the best win of your career!" Stout thanks Lauzon for making it an exciting fight. We show the replay of Lauzon trying to take out Stout early with the Kimoura, Stout thought "Damn! He's got my arm!". Stout thanks his team and the fans, and he's amped! He should be, that was a solid, tough fight.
Backstage we see Georges "Rush" St-Pierre, who will be dfending his UFC Welterweight Championship against Dan Hardy on Saturday, march 27th at UFC 111 in Newark, NJ at the Prudential Center, tickets go on sale to UFC Fight Club members on January 7th, and the general public on January 11th. In the crowd is former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir. We fill some more time with a replay of Martin Kampmann vs. Jacob Volkmann from the Spike TV preliminaries earlier in the evening.
Dustin Hazelett (14-4-0, 168 lbs.) vs. Paul "Semtex" Daley (22-8-2, 172 lbs.)
This is our co-main event of the evening. Paul Daley is making his second-ever appearance in UFC, his original opponent was Carlos Condit pulled out for an undisclosed reason. Daley's response? "Condit is a big pussy!", Daley accused the former WEC champion of not running a proper training camp and choosing to pull out unnecessiarly with less than a month until the fight. But one has to wonder how seriously he is taking this fight, because he is coming in two pounds overweight. Hazelett is coming back from a torn ACL last March, and was scheduled to face Karo Parisyan at UFC 106 when Parisyan pulled out. Herb Dean is our referee in charge.
Round One sees Daley take the middle of the ring, but Hazelett charges and tumbles across the ring to clear it out, and puts Daley on the outside! Nobody is throwing punches, Hazelett throws a kick at 4:15, doesn't connect. Daley takes his time and throws a low outside kick, then a pair of high kicks to the head, getting blocked. Hazelett's corner tells him to "stay long" and out of Daley's reach.
Daley is throwing only kicks for the most part, Hazelett responds with his own kicks. Hazelett moves in for a left jab, Daley ducks it, snags the arm in an overhand right and BAM! Daley nails him with a dead-on left hook and Hazelett goes down! It's over! Daley goes over to cageside, bends down and says, "Mr. Rogan, how did you like that?" I think he liked it a lot! We replay it a few times from a few angles.
WINNER: Paul "Semtex" Daley d. Dustin Hazelett @ 2:24 of Round One by Knockout. Rogan asks if Daley is surprised he stand with him. Daley says he isn't surprised, Hazelett knew he'd have to stand up with him in order to fight this match. Daley apologizes for his antics after the fight, "The adrenaline is flowing, we do stupid thigns sometimes.
We fill some more time with Mark Munoz vs. Ryan Jensen from the Spike TV preliminaries earlier tonight, then run a promo for the new movie Daybreakers, opening in theaters January 8th.
"Sugar" Rashad Evans (18-1-1, 205 lbs.) vs. Thiago Silva (14-1-0, 205 lbs.)
The Tapout/AT&T text voting is very close for the evening, 55% in favor of thiago Silva winning this fight. Bruce Buffer in the ring to introduce us to the main event of the evening. Presented by Bayonetta and Daybreakers, sanctioned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, judge at ringside ar Adalaide Byrd, Tony Weeks and Roy Sherbert, and the referee in charge is Yves Levignes. "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT'S TIIIIIIIME! THREE ROUNDS IN THE UFC LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION!" Levignes draws the men to the center for their last instructions and to tap gloves. They do so... reluctantly.
Round One begins with Evans putting Silva on the cage quickly, goes into the clinch immediately. Silva tries to push off but he doesn't have th e leverage. Evans grabs the legs and takes him down, Silva back up on his feet, Evans grabs the legs and takes him down again and gains side control. Silva takes the opportunity to throw some easy punches as Evans works to get the mount, and he does, but Silva rolls out and grabs a leg, puts Evans on the cage and throws a knee to the midsection, 90 seconds gone. Evans spins Silva back around and grapples for control, Silva with a knee, Evans throws a few back.
Referee warns them to work, and Evans starts throwing some head punches, Silva ducks out of the way, we go back to the middle and both men start throwing punch combinations and bobbing their heads to evade each other's positions. Silva goes for a knee that connects, but Evans puts his head down, rushes forward and throws him to the mat, again gaining side control. Evans transitions north-south, Silva rolls over and gets to his feet, Evans puts him back on the cage, but backs off, 2:00 left in the round as we go back to the middle.
Evans takes his time and goes for a left punch, Silva blocks it and counters with an inside leg kick. Silva with a few quick punches, another leg kick. Rogan notes that Silva is trying to time his punches with Evans' head movements, but Evans is just moving too fast. Evans pushes forward with several punches, lands a right, backs Silva up to a cage again and ties him up. Silva with a few rabbit punches, Evans still working the body, but backs off and departs with a few body shots, charges forward with body shots and another takedown for Evans.
Silva uses the cage to work himself back up, Evans keeps him on the cage. Silva counters with some punches and breaks free. Evans backs up and wants to spar, Silva throws a head kick that is easily blocked in the last few seconds as the round ends. Silva's corner tells him "You have to be smart, you can't keep fighting like this. Keep circling to the right. Please trust us, you have to try to take his back." Evans' corner tells him to keep the distance close and he'll take Silva.
Round Two starts with Silva circling to the right as he was instructed. Evans charges forward, tags Silva with a left, charges him to the cage and goes into the clinch. Silva wraps around Evans' left arm and tries to escape, Evans cuts him off and puts him back up against the cage. Silva tries with short inside knees as the referee warns them to work, Evans with some small punches back. Silva is able to get seperattion with an uppercut, followed by a inside leg kick, but Evans again charges and gets the takedown, moves into Silva's half-guard, working for side control.
90 seconds in, Silva is trying to roll out, Evans lets him up, throws a few punches, charges him to the cage, grabs a leg and another takedown, Silva is crammed up against the cage. Silva looks defeated already in his expression, not finding a way to stuff Evans yet. Evans is working for side control, Silva grabs a leg and uses it to escape and take this back to a stand-up fight, 2:30 left in this round. Both men taking their time, dancing around, Silva throws a few timid punches, Evans tries for a takedown and Silva is able to stuff it, Evans backs off, dances, charges again and drives Silva into the cage.
Silva throws a few inside knees and body shots, Evans goes for the throw, Silva stops it and throws a right hand to the head, Evans backs off. Silva throws some punch combinations that eat air, Evans backs up and evades them, 75 seconds left. Both en bobbing and weaving, Silva throws a front thrust kick that connects, Evans throws a double jab, rushes the takedown and puts Silva into the cage yet again, down to the mat they go, Evans has Silva up on the cage again, 30seconds left.
Silva gries to get to his feet, nearly gives up his back, Evans puts him back on the cage. Referee again warns them to work with 10 seconds left in the round. Fans starting to boo as the horn sounds. Evans has dominated the last two rounds with takedowns. Silva's corner warns him that he's losing in points, he has to fight the takedown and he has to start throwing elbows whenever Evans is in close. Re recap all of Evans' takedown in the last round.
Thrid and Final Round starts with Silva throwing the first punch, circling to the right, Evans holding th emiddle of the ring, double punch combination, goes for the takedown, Silva stuffs it but still ends up pressed against hte cage. Rogan notes, "Evans is just better educated in the clinch, he knows how to position himself."
They dance around, Silva throws a right hook, Evans ducks it and uses it for another takedown, Silva scrambles to his feet, 3:30 left in the fight. Both men circle around the cage, Silva tries for a few body punches, doesn't connect. Silva claps his hands and calls for Evans to approach him, but Evans isn't taking the bait. Evans evades more punches, Silva again calls for him to bring it. Evans takes his time picking out his swing, Evans with an over-the-top right, Silva tries to counter with a body kick that gets blocked.
Silva drops his hand and immitates Evans' bobbing and weaving, trying to sucker him in, Evans isn't buying into it, taking his time. Silva charges forward and catches Evans with a left hook on the chin, actually takes him down! Silva moves in, throws punches, but Evans recovers and gets back to his feet. 1:45 left, Silva pours on the punches again, gets another good hit on Evans, but Evans defens, is trying to get out of the way. Evans eats a knee and an uppercut, backs off and challenges Evans more. Evans still looks shaken but is still fighting.
Silva backs off, puts his hands on his hips, looks like he's letting Evans recovers, Rogan notes that Silva burned himself up and needs a rest too, but he has to put Evans away. Silva goes to throw a kick, 35 seconds left, and Evans blocks it and stuff him on the side of the cage again. Both men now looking winded, Evans tries for a takedown, Silva blocks it and throws a few quick punches to the face, but Evans pushes on, they grapple all the way to the end of the horn.
We replay the last minute of the fight, we see Silva throw a left then a hard right that wobbles Evans, another right that puts him on the mat, Silva taking his back and throwing mor epunches, but Evans was able to recover and Silva too tired to do more. How disappointing for Silva. Bruce Buffer with the decision:
"Ladies and gentlemen, after three rounds of action the main event, we have a decision. All three judges score this contest 29-28, declaring your winner by unanimous decision... "SUGAR" RASHAD EVANS!" Evans keeps his post-fight announcement short, he says he knows he got a little lazy in the last round but gutted it out. He then had a simple message for his next opponent, "Rampage, I know you're watching, let's get it on, baby!"
