The show opens with a video montage of WWE Tables, Ladders & Chairs where the Undertaker beat Batista, albeit an executive decision by Teddy Long causing controversy.
Speaking of Long, here comes the General Manager of SmackDown. Long: "Ladies and gentlemen, last Sunday at the first ever TLC PPV, the Undertaker successfully defended his World Heavyweight Champion against Batista. Due to Batista being unsuccessful at TLC we will determine a new #1 contender for the World Heavyweight..." Batista: "Hold on, hold on, hold on..." and here comes Batista to interrupt Long's announcement.
"No need to look for a #1 contender - he's right here. Now you robbed me last Sunday and I told you to make it right, and this is not my idea of making it right. So this is the last time I'll tell you, make it right. There's nobody back there or anywhere who would want to face me for the #1 contender's spot anyway. So you're gonna give me the spot tonight, you hear me? Do I need to go and pick up a chair? I'm your #1 contender." BOOYAKA BOOYAKA!
Here comes Mysterio to interject! Rey: "You said there's nobody back there? Well I'm right here Dave. I wanna challenge you Batista. See Dave, you don't have to be 6'5", jacked up with muscle to be a champion. You think because you dress fly and ask for the spotlight that you're the man?
Batista, you're nothing but a bully! See there's one thing you never understood about me. You saw me as a little guy like you had sympathy. You never looked at what's inside of me. I have heart! In conclusion, the best way for me to get back at you is to make sure that you never hold that World Heavyweight Championship again. You know what, let's get it on tonight!" Long: "Rey, I hear you playa. Batista you hear me too.
Tonight you will go one-on-one with Rey Mysterio, and that will determine the #1 contender. This is going to be a straight-up wrestling match, which means no chairs playa. You can lose by countout, pinfall, submission, or disqualification. And next week, on Christmas night the winner will get a present when they face the World Champion, the Undertaker!" Batista is not happy! Breaktime. So it's official, Batista vs. Mysterio in a #1 contender's match for a shot against Undertaker's title next week.
* John Morrison, Matt Hardy & R-Truth vs. Drew McIntyre {IC Champ}, CM Punk & Luke Gallows
LAREDO, TEXAS... WHAT'S UP? (What's up!) As McIntyre makes his entrance we still pictures from WWE TLC on how Drew won the title from Morrison. Hardy and Punk start the match for their respective teams, Punk has him in a headlock, but Matt quickly turns the tables. Truth tags in and the Carolinians double team Punk. WHAT'S UP! What's up is you took your eye off the ball and Punk tags in Luke Gallows. The match quickly turns into a mess until Morrison takes control over McIntyre by hitting a standing shooting star splash for a near-fall. McIntyre rolls out the ring before a commercial break.
Back now and Morrison has Punk in a headlock, then he hits him with a running calf kick. Gallows causes a distraction as Morrison tries to be in control over Punk but McIntyre kicks him off the apron. Punk goes after him and brings him back in the ring, to his corner, and delivers shoulders to the abdomen. Morrison tries to fight back but Gallows comes in with a flurry of punches! He puts him in a butterfly lock then switches to a front facelock. He clubs him in the back then whips him hard to his corner. McIntyre tags in and stomps on Morrison, then slams him down for 2.
Drew has an armlock applied while the fans rally for the face-in-peril. He prevents Morrison from reaching his corner and tags to Gallows. Luke drops a heavy elbow and covers for 2. Punk tags back in as Matt Striker praises him. 2-count and Punk locks in a figure-4 headlock. Punk inches to his corner and Gallows tags in again. He gets a 2-count, tags out, puts Morrison over his knee and the tagged-in Punk drops in on him with a knee for 2. He kicks him in the gut, taunts him, grabs an arm and goes for the GTS but Morrison elbows out and rolls him up.
Matt Hardy tags in!! He clotheslines Punk in the middle of the ring, in the corner, lands the bulldog, and gets a 2-count. Hardy gets a lot of offense in, then hits the Side Effect! Gallows stops the count, Truth takes out Gallows, McIntyre gets involved, Morrison takes him out and climbs the turnbuckle but Punk pulls him down. Hardy is waiting for Punk, but the Twist of Fate gets countered. Gallows hands Punk his Slammy and he whacks Matt in the gut! He rolls him up for the win. WINNERS: the Heels.
Backstage, Maria and Mickie James are playing "WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010." Suddenly the game shuts off and Beth Phoenix shows up holding the plug. She is disappointed in Mickie and Maria for not capitalizing on their latest endeavors. She even mention when she won a Slammy for Diva of the Year last year she was hungry for competition. She then tells Maria that in their match later tonight she will make sure her return is short-lived. Breaktime.
We come back with a reminder to check out WWE Tribute to the Troops tomorrow night on NBC (check your local listings). Then we go to the same lame DX cartoonish Christmas promo from last Monday on Raw, featuring the new DX Snuggie! From there we learn that DX WILL BE ON SMACKDOWN NEXT WEEK ON CHRISTMAS!! Another commercial break.
* Eric Escobar vs. Kane
So is Eric the heel or face now? I can't tell! Escobar cuts a promo about Vickie, maybe this is to convince us that since he disses Vickie it would make him the face. Excuse me. I said excuse me! Eric... EXCUSE ME! I am sick and tired of you saying nasty and inconsiderate things about me. So in return I have brought you something. See, today I remembered that it's your birthday, so I brought you a gift. Happy birthday, baby." BOOM! So by rule, anybody who sides themselves with Vickie is a heel. So does this make Kane a heel now?
Fucking logic doesn't work again, damnit WWE! The bell rings and Escobar tries to lay in punches to wear the big man down but it's no use. Kane hits him and lands a clothesline in the corner. He sends him out the ring and tries to destroy him. He throws Escobar in the ring and sneers at Vickie as she gets close, and by reading his lips it looks like he said "Get away from me." Escobar tries more offense but Kane is too powerful. He chokeslams him down and the match is over. WINNER: Kane.
Vickie gets in the ring and CACKLES at Escobar. "So maybe Eric, next time you wanna see anything to me, you will choose your words more wisely." Escobar: "You're right. I've been talking myself into brutal beatings. I will watch what I say so hold on. There, I got it. Vickie, tomorrow I will wake up still sore, ready to fight another day. Bad luck for you is, you'll still wake up in the morning looking like that." OOH! Vickie wants the microphone but Eric walks away as she yells "I have something to say!" Coming up, The Great Khali will face off against Chris Jericho, NEXT... after the commercial break.
Jericho comes down to the ring when we come back, and before the match he cuts a promo. Jericho: "This week I was unfairly ejected from Raw on a legal loophole. A technicality that was apparent because Big Show and I never lost our rematch against DX. I was the victim of the biggest screwjob in WWE history.
Even though I was embarrassed and humiliated in front of hypocrites and parasites, I wanted leave Raw. I am being punished for being the best in the world at what I do. All the general managers and guest hosts and you mucilaginous troglodytes ganging up on me. My friend Big Show leaving me to fend for myself, we are Slammy winners, and where is my partner? He's gone! I know all of you love to see Chris Jericho down and out. But mark my words, this is not over, and in the meantime I will continue to do what I've down on Friday Nights as the face of SmackDown!"
* Chris Jericho vs. The Great Khali (w/ Ranjin Singh)
The bell rings and Jericho dips out the ring. He slowly gets on the apron and jumps down when Khali gets close. Once again he wearily gets in the ring, then attacks the legs. Khali grabs him and punches him down. In the corner Khali delivers a big back elbow then stomps on him. He sticks a boot in Jericho's midsection and Y2J dips out again. Khali tries to grab him but Jericho hangs him on the ropes.
Jericho starts for offense but Khali chops him on the head. Khali calls for the Punjabi Plunge and Jericho DIPS OUT AGAIN! The referee starts the count and Jericho walks back to the ring, but changes his mind and leaves. WINNER by countout: The Great Khali. Still tot come, Batista vs. Mysterio to be the #1 contender; breaktime.
During the breaks I keep seeing commercials about MVP and Big Show appearing on back-to-back episodes of "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader" this Tuesday night on MyNetworkTV starting at 8 PM EST. So now you know. When we come back we see a promo for WWE Magazine.
* The Hart Dynasty (w/ Natalya) vs. Jimmy Wang Yang & Slam Master J
Jimmy Yang in a du-rag is BUYS!! Tyson Kidd and Slam Master J start the match for their respective teams. They chain wrestle for a bit until Yang tags in. He wrenches the arm, Kidd tries to counter, then Yang catches him with a hurricanrana. David Hart Smith gets in but gets dismissed to the outside. J and Yang both hit double suicide dives! Matt Striker quotes Run-D.M.C.! Kidd dropkicks Yang in the back, then tags out. Smith comes in and holds Yang for about 15 seconds in a delayed vertical suplex before dropping him down. Todd Grisham asks Striker about the possibility of Bret Hart coming in, and Striker kayfabes him.
Smith lands numerous hammerlock bodyslams, then drives his shoulder into Yang's back. Yang counters and tags out! In comes J and he's in control with shoulder blocks and a bridging Northern Lights Suplex for 2. He sends Kidd outside the ring, tries to bring him back in and as he tries to go in himself, Natalya pulls him down and NATALYA BODYSLAMS SLAM MASTER J ON THE FLOOR! With ease! Nice spot. Smith tags in and they double team Slam Master J with the Hart Attack finisher for the win. WINNERS: The Harts.
Natalya grabs a microphone. "You see, revenge is a dish best served cold. And after over a decade, we finally get our opportunity with D-Generation X. So while next week may be a DX Christmas, it'll be the Hart Dynasty's time to celebrate." Next to speak is Hart Smith. "And what better way to top off DX's Christmas by ending their final run as Tag Team Champions. Unlike our fathers, we will not be intimidated and we will not back down!" Finally, Tyson Kidd gets a chance to talk. "This is a new era in the Hart family. What our father didn't do - no, what they COULDN'T do, we WILL do. Because we are better than the best, PERIOD!" Nice little promo! Breaktime.
The "WWE Slam of the Week" is from Monday Night Raw when Maria was announced as Diva of the Year. Beth Phoenix is walking backstage when Michelle McCool and Layla stop her to talk trash about Maria and Mickie James. McCool calls Maria an "underfed redhead" and since she hangs out with Mickie she won't get any food. Ha, ha, ha - clever but very distasteful. They continue to bash Mickie's weight (which is really getting old already) as Beth looks disturbed at their mockery. She dismisses them before walking off, leaving McCool and Layla dumbfounded.
* Maria vs. Beth Phoenix
Maria stops Beth running in with a knee, but Beth catches her from a crossbody and slams her down. Beth picks her up but gets countered, and still takes her down. Beth stares around and Maria rolls her up for 2. Maria jumps on her shoulders and Beth drops her down. Beth picks her up, and drops her with the Glam Slam. WINNER: Beth Phoenix.
Before the break we see the trailer for "The Marine 2" starring Ted DiBiase Jr. After the break we go to a Slammy Raw Rebound. Back to SmackDown and it's been officially announced for next week - DX vs. The Hart Dynasty for the Unified Tag Team Championship! Also, the Undertaker will defend his World Title against the winner of the next match. Both of these matches will occur next week on a Christmas episode of SmackDown! Rey Mysterio comes out to the ring before another batch of commercials.
* #1 Contender's Match for World Title: Rey Mysterio vs. Dave Batista
Batista comes out to a very heelish entrance as he makes his way down with the spotlight on him the entire way. The bell rings and Rey quickly avoid Dave but Batista catches him just as quickly. He drives him into the corner then drives a knee to his back. Batista throws Rey to the floor but Rey rolls through it.
Rey blocks a Batista Bomb and dropkicks Batista who falls to the floor. The springboard senton connects on the big man to the floor! Rey rolls back in the ring and misses the baseball slide. Batista brings him back in the ring but gets kicked in the head, then nearly botches a catch when Rey goes for an Asai moonsault. He drives him into the barricade and yells COME ON!! The action will continue after the last commercial break.
Batista is still in control when we come back as he whips Rey to the corner hard! He goes after Rey, who is outside the ring, and rams him back-first into the ringpost. Back in the ring Batista stalks Rey, picks him up, catches him and drops him on his knee for a backbreaker and holding on to apply a submission. Rey fights out but Batista boots him in the head for a near-fall. Batista is in full control as he drops his weight on Rey's torso twice. He puts Rey's head on the bottom rope and chokes him with it as the fans chant ME-XI-CO!
Batista drops Rey with a huge clothesline and Rey still kicks out at 2. Batista with a body slam, waits, hits another body slam, waits, and hits a THIRD body slam. He hops on the second rope, and Rey springs to life to try a top rope hurricanrana, but Batista holds onto the ropes. He jumps off and Rey catches him with a dropkick in mid-air!
Rey kicks him in the leg, catches him running in with a back elbow, and hits another springboard senton! Rey connects with the wheelbarrow bulldog for 2.95! Batista looks dazed as Rey hits a springboard legdrop for a near-fall. Both men are slow to get up, Batista catches a leg and pushes Rey off.
Rey comes back with a tilt-a-whirl DDT for 2.98! Again both are slow to rise, but Rey quickens the pace. 619 CONNECTS!! Batista put the knees up to block the springboard splash for 2. Batista picks up Rey and drops him with a powerslam, staying on him for a 2-count. He picks Rey up, sets it up, but Rey runs into a Bossman Slam! Rey grabs the rope to break the count. Batista Bomb countered with a hurricanrana!
Dave is pissed so he grabs a chair but the ref admonishes him to drop it... so Dave SPEARS Mysterio for 2.999999! Batista sets up for the Spinebuster, but Rey counters into a rollup for 3!! WINNER and #1 CONTENDER for World Heavyweight Championship: Rey Mysterio. Rey backs up the ramp in tremendous pain holding his midsection and Batista is FUMING in the ring as SmackDown goes off the air.

I am really liking R-Truth and Matt Hardy together...the singing seems to give Matt a fresh and peppy step lol
I think its bullshit that Rey won and is getting a tittle shot over Batista...if Taker drops is to Rey then i just don't know what.
