Tha iMPACT! Playback

This week, I only really had the opportunity to take in bits and pieces of "iMPACT!". First off, let's talk about the 300lb elephant in the room.

I know everyone sounded off on this already, even myself. And this week on "iMPACT!", everyone weighed in on the iMPACT! of Hulk Hogan coming to TNA.

Of note, some wrestlers commented on their past with Hogan. Steiner mentioned their history in the NWO and said he would welcome the Hulkster into the Main Event Mafia. What I tell ya? I’m anxious to get Nash’s perspective on his former NWO bredren joining TNA. Unless I missed it already.

One would assume Hogan will come in as a good guy to capitalize on his fan base as a babyface. Although I personally love heel Hogan. I was at WrestleMania X8 in Toronto when Hogan fought The Rock. And yes I - like many others - cheered for Hogan, as a heel no doubt.

Most wrestlers seemed positive about Hogan’s signing, even though I get it that they’re supposed to say that stuff. It’s more about how far TNA has come to get to the point of being able to sign legends along side the young up and coming superstars and already established wrestlers.

Bottom line, hopefully everyone has learned from the WCW days. It will be interesting to see if Hulk and Russo can get along. The WCW blow out between them was a disgrace to the business, not to mention to kayfabe.

On to some really quick looks at the results from each match...

Madison Rayne vs. Taylor Wilde

Taylor ends up going over and after she gets the pinfall, The Beautiful People run in and ensue a beatdown on Wilde. ODB saves the day in the end.

AJ Styles came to the ring and mentions Hogan coming to TNA and it taking TNA to a whole new level. Daniels comes out and interrupts AJ. They get into a back and forth and then Samoa Joe comes out and says Daniels is jealous of Styles, which sets up the two for a match later in the night.

Eric Young & Rob Terry vs. Beer Money

Beer Money wins after Young accidentally hits Big Rob with the Legends Title which he seems to have renamed the Global Championship. WTF? British Invasion comes down to save Eric from a DUI. When WE gets to the top of the ramp they are jumped by the Motor City Machine Guns.

Cody Deaner vs. Desmond Wolfe

One clothesline and it's done! Poor Cody. Wolfe wins in record time. Kurt's on the phone with the announcers during this one. He states his injury.

Daniels makes his way to the ring and they cut to AJ in the back with JB. AJ is attacked by his mystery attacker and it's not Joe or Daniels. Who is the mystery guy? Sting??

Tara vs. Hamada

Tara wins after a Widow's Peak. Kong comes out but is stopped by security just before she can get in the ring. Then, Tara goes to the top rope and dives on Kong and the security.

Mick Foley comes to the ring and says he has a gift for Abyss which turns out to be a drawing of him and Abyss. He praises who Abyss has become and makes a match for next week: Abyss vs. Dr. Stevie. If Abyss pins Dr. Stevie, then he is gone from TNA.

Homicide vs. Bobby Lashley w/Krystal

Krystal is quickly sent to the back by Earl Hebner. Lashley wins after a one handed press slam. Homicide attacks Lashley from the beginning only to be brought up for another press slam.

Lashley drops him after he sees Steiner on the screen going after Krystal. Lashley goes to the back. Homicide pushes Hebner twice until Red comes out to save Earl.

AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels

The Crowd was really behind this one and it was a great match that AJ wins after the Styles Clash. At the end of the match, Joe looks like he is about to leave and instead chokes AJ out and poses over Daniels and Styles holding the title belt. Joe's hunting again!

Team 3D vs. Morgan & Hernandez

During the match, Rhino comes down mid-match and attempts to give Brother Ray a chair but he pushes Rhino away. Ray snaps and uses the chair. 3D look disappointed and Rhino gores both Hernandez and Morgan. He then raises 3D's arms in the middle of the ring and tells 'em that’s how its done. Booyah!
