I would like to take this opportunity to send a super huge massive shout out and thank you to EVERYONE who has shown my latest project Dilla Pickles the overwhelming support that it has received.For the first time in the five-year history of Dan-e-o.com, the website has crashed! Twice, in fact, in the past 24 hours due to exceeded bandwidth. Before last night, I didn't even know what that meant!
Bottom line, fans from all over the world are visiting and downloading Dilla Pickles like crazy! I guess you can't beat FREE, huh?
I can't even begin to express how long and hard I have toiled on this project. Loyal listeners to Tha O Show do have some idea, but the heart and soul I put into every song on this project cannot be adequately expressed.
Without getting all corny, I just need to let you all know this shit means a lot to me. For the past several years, I have been made to feel stuck in place in an industry that is apparently passing me by and leaving me for dead.
The response to Dilla Pickles in just its first five days has proven that the spirit of J Dilla, of real hip-hop music and of your bro Dan-e-o are still very alive and well.
I also just realized that today - November 5th - marks the 13-year anniversary of the release of "Dear Hip Hop" on RapEssentials Volume One. Perhaps, this means something...
