This is the era of heels in professional wrestling. They may not be the heels of old, because these guys still sell merch (in some cases) but they still get over the way they are supposed to. Edge and Orton are two of the best heels in pro wrestling, but these guys sell a good deal of t-shirts.The best heel in professional wrestling right now is Chris Jericho. He doesn't sell merch. Why? Because he doesn't even have any. He has taken his new heel gimmick to levels unheard of in todays landscape.
Jericho goes against almost every rule in professional wrestling today. Promoters scream for merch to be sold, along with tickets. Jericho makes up for no merch in tickets. People are going to pay to see Legends kill Chris Jericho. He makes people want to see him get his teeth kicked down his throat.
Chris Jericho will sell more tickets than Triple H vs. Orton. Up until tonight Jericho didn't even have an opponent or even a "proposed" opponent. Triple H and Orton has been all but confirmed for weeks now, and other than the Austin/Pillman angle, er, I mean Orton/H angle the level of interest has been much greater in Jericho/Legends.
You may be thinking I'm losing my mind, or you may be thinking I've already lost it. Truth is, we've seen Triple H in 394 WrestleMania main events, and Cena in 392, problem is there have only been 24 WrestleMania's to date. People are tired of it.
Yes they get a reaction. They get their pops. People buy their t-shirts, but folks all good things come to an end. Friends dropped the curtain after 10 seasons. Monk will be wrapping it up after the upcoming season. Cheers said goodbye. CCR don't do music together anymore. Don't even get me started on ABBA. Chris Casur will cry people. Real tears.
In all seriousness, ratings are in flux, and buyrates are down because the viewers are being fed the same things week in and week out. Triple H having seizures and foaming at the mouth. Been there, done that. Triple H with a belt, same. Cena fighting for or with the belt. Been there done that too many times.
People want new, fresh. Folks, this deal with Chris Jericho is new. At least fresh. Sure he's been a heel before, but not like this. This is off the charts. Other than DNA this isn't even the same Chris Jericho. Love it. This is a Jericho that could work a program with anyone, and could shoulder the belt and carry the show.
This whole John Cena/Vickie/Edge/Big Show thing could be hilarious. It could be incredibly entertaining. It just seems so forced. Edge is playing his part perfectly, but everyone else seems like they're reading from a script. I know they are, but Leo DiCaprio didn't appear to be reading in "Body of Lies."
Sure I laughed like a fool when Show told Vickie she looked sexy in that shirt. I was thinking St. Patties day was coming up, I didn't think April Fools was already here. No offense to Vickie or any of the Vickie fans out there. Don't lie and say you didn't check out the "naughty" Vickie pics.
Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker. Two legends. Great workers, throw them together you're going to get a really good match. Anything further you'd like to know? I just don't get it. Dante Ross wrote a great article earlier about who the Undertaker should face. Check that out and you'll get what you need as far as that goes.
"Raw" isn't a bad show, don't let any negativity from this article make you think I hate the show. This is just my incredibly opinionated, Jim Bean fueled take on the show that I watched. What should be done, what shouldn't be done. Either way, this has been Tha Raw Report.

A good show is like a good porno flick. Lots of action, something nice to see, and after a minute, er, half hour or so, you’re wanting more. The way this show ended shit all over whatever else happened. A Spear takes a guy out cold. Not Cena. A punch to the gut (TWICE!) by Big Show makes Cena cough a bit. A knockout punch didn’t knock him out. But the Speak on Show takes him out? I don’t get it. Wrestlemania is coming up and I’m already done with these three. Why do they keep showing us why this match shouldn’t happen instead of making us want to see what happens? There’s too many chefs in the kitchen and they all have no taste buds.
The booking for this years's 'Mania has been a dreadful abomination.
HHH/Orton started strong, but these past few weeks have made me want to see the match less and less.
The Jericho match is a HUUGE dissapointment. If they wanted an old man to play this role, they could have easily had Finlay or JBL as a face in this spot.
JBL would have done great promos in defense of the legends and would have had a good match with Jericho.
Michaels and Taker has been by leaps and bounds the best built match on the show. This match will be special and should go on LAST at WM 25. This match deserves that spot b/c the booking for both title matches has sucked bad.
The more I think about it, the more I think Jeff Hardy got screwed and deserved Big Show's spot, OR, you could have just had Jeff and Edge as the SmackDown title match.
P.S. DJB is the man, but his golf game needs work.
FF

Anyways if you are going to compare wrestling to pornos, please include at least 2 of these phrases:
Money Shot
Glory Hole
and Donkey Punch
And if anybody can provide me a clip that involves all three, send me the link please!!
D. Ross: love the chefs with no taste buds comment, but doesn't that mean they don't know what they are swallowing?
