Author's note: Sorry for the delay in posting this, the death of a dear friend of the family has left things rather hectic over the past few days. Starting next week, "Tha Raw Report" will be posted within an hour of the conclusion of "Raw".I don't get it. The rankings of almost everyone at Tha O Show has "Raw" as something other than the A show. And that's deservedly so, as their product has ranged from mediocre to okay, but never great. So why is it that so many more fans keep tuning into "Raw" than any other wrestling show on TV? I don't get it.
One thing that I do get, though, is that CM Punk is not an underdog. He's supposed to be, but he's not. Winning matches in the midcard does not make you an underdog; it makes you a midcarder. His match with JBL last night was solid, and it did tell a story. The boastful and ego-driven JBL has been growing frustrated because despite his disdain for the braggart CM Punk, and despite JBL's belief that he is the superior wrestler, JBL just can't put Punk away.
I'd be madder if this match was in the midcard as opposed to the curtain jerker, as strange as that may sound. It's not much of a step up, but having your champion be the show opener is a good way to set the tone for the evening.
Kelly Kelly may actually be able to wrestle after all. She's no Nattie Neidhart, but she's clearly improving. I liked that last night, a lot of her offense centered around working on Beth's arm. Now, mind you, she didn't get much offense in, but there was a nice little string of four or five moves that she did where she was focused on one body part. Whoever taught her to do that, good for them. The comedic interference of Santino makes me not care that the champ lost to her, this won't turn into a long standing feud anyway.
Charlie Haas has a new gimmick, folks. Every week, he's going to come out dressed up like somebody else. At least, I hope so. This week, he came out as "Charlito" to wrestle the debuting Primo Colon. The last time we thought he was getting a cool gimmick, he ended up being off TV for eight months. I'm guessing they're going to build towards a feud between the brothers Colon, provided Carlito doesn't get cut. The matches should be good, but WWE, make me care about the story if that's where you're going. Make me, Joe Fan, emotionally invested in that idea. Ready? Go.
Now, speaking of emotional investments, Shawn Michaels and his detached retina (editor's note: You're supposed to have forgotten that his eye was permanently and severely damaged) came out last night to cut a great promo, which is par for the course with HBK more often than not. God, did Jericho look knee in that suit though. I could not take him seriously as a tough guy with the way he looked last night. The hair was bad, the three day stubble made it worse, and the suit that made him look like he was attending a college open house was just the dingleberry icing on the shit cake.
However, I am still interested in their match at Unforgiven, and it is, as of this writing, the only match scheduled that I actually am interested in.
Going from Michaels kayfabe injury to a real injury, I want to talk about John Cena for a second. As a guy who has had neck problems in the past and has a father who had herniated disks in his back and has seen firsthand what they can do to a person, neither are very fun. As shit a worker as John Cena may be, I still have to take the humane route here and send my best wishes his way. Get well, John. Not necessarily soon, but get well.Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase squared off against Jerry Lawler and Jim Duggan last night. Okay, give the champs some fodder so they can get airtime, good idea. Cryme Tyme is finally getting a title shot? Nice! I take back my earlier comment, there are now two matches that I'm interested in at Unforgiven. Cryme Tyme are super over as faces, Simply Priceless are super over as heels, so this match could be red hot.
Santino Marella is the muhfuggin' man. If Cham Pain ever gets hired by WWE, I wanna see these two guys tag team. I've even get a name-Two Funny Motherfuckers. From his pompous posing while escorting Beth Phoenix down to the ring for her match to his victory celebration, everything this guy does is entertainment.
With the John Cena injury, the door was opened for a new superstar to enter the Clusterfuck Spectacular Championship Match at Unforgiven. My personal choice would have been Big Show, who decided to jump ship to "Raw" after being left out of the qualifiers on "SmackDown!". That seemed logical. Instead, we get Rey Mysterio, Mr. "619 mg of Deca Durabolin".
Bad choice in my opinion. Yeah, he's a former champ and all, but why not use this to give somebody from the midcard some shine like they're doing with The Brian Kendrick over on his show, "SpankDown"?Batista vs. Kane. Lordy, did this match scream entertainment. Batista's wrestling is wack, and Kane's current angle is wack. It's so obvious from week to week that this angle is being written on the fly. Rey Mysterio was supposedly battered so remorselessly that he would never be the same man again, and yet without any mention of Kane, he gets slid into a title match that's two weeks away. Calling all Austin fans. WHAT?!
The ending was a clusterfuck and did nothing to build anticipation for the title match that both men will be a part of at the next pay-per-view. By the way, I love the fact that this idea is so clearly over that WWE has decided to do one of these Scramble matches for ECW as well. Forget the name Unforgiven, from here on out this show will be referred to as Clusterfuck, because that's what it's going to be.
Tha Results:
*CM Punk def. JBL
*Kelly Kelly def. Beth Phoenix
*Primo Colon def. "Charlito"
*Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase def. Jerry "The King" Lawler & "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan
*Santino Marella def. Kofi Kingston
*Batista def. Kane by DQ

Best moment was when santino put the abdominal stretch on kofi and like 2 secs later he starts yelling to the ref ring the bell, ring the bell as if he won.
Is ortons "2nd" Injury real? caz they should have used him instead of rey if he can return
Last weeks show Donnie said that Kane (Glen Jacobs) was a shit worker and blah blah blah.
BULLSHIT!
This coming from a Glen Jacobs mark though, either way, dude is fuckin' impressive. I've NEVER and I mean, NEVER seen Batista have such a good match in my life. By far the best Batista match of his short career so far.
Why?
That was CLEARLY a Glen Jacobs CARRY JOB!
Fuckin' incredible.
RAW is SANTINO! It needed to be said, and it was! Sad,sad day when KANE has to carry somebody during a match. Batista couldn't sell pepsi in the fucking desert! Shit worker, pure and simple. How long until his roided up ass starts falling apart? As for Cena, you never, ever want to see anyone in the business get hurt, especially with a neck injury. I wish the guy a speedy recovery and hope while he's recovering he'll re-think what he said about the Rock. Now as for the championship clusterfuck:Rey Mysterio???? Who is writing this shit??? No build up,no backstory,no rhyme or reason, just plop him into the mix, because YOU HAVE NO TALENT ON THE ROSTER! Your so-called "A" show and you have no one to put into a championship match that was already fucked up to begin with!!!! Now you've lost your biggest Babyface for who knows how long and you continue to BURY your champion!WTF!!!! So what now? Do you bring Triple H back? Do you elevate someone from ECW? Do you raid TNA? What are you going to do with 2 hours of major televison time and no viable workers????? RAW is no longer the "C" show,IMPACT is,RAw is now the "D"show.
Raw continues it's downslide. Opening the show with the champ as a curtain jerker did not set the tone of the show. It showed how midcard they consider their champ to be. As the champ Punk is fixing to go into a match where anyone can end up with his title. Instead of having him showcased at the end of the night he pulls the curtain with a match we have seen over and over already.
Santino is pure gold. He makes the IC belt interesting again. He makes you believe he is goofy and lucky enough to have the IC title and Beth as a love interest to boot is just icing on the cake. Beth should be given Os for being able to go right along with his gimmick so well. By the way big Os for taking the bloody nose. Thankfully it is not broken. With Gail Kim coming back it should get interesting in the womens division on Raw. Gail was already seen at a FCW last week.
Priceless got a match this week against guys they were supposed to fight a month or so ago. Uh WWE writers how about making the match when people might have still cared even a little. Cryme Tyme are finally getting their title shot. Only took a year or so since they won it. Oh yea we are not supposed to remeber that.
Rey in the championship scramble. Wow are they really reaching now. Jericho would have been the obvious choice. His match with Shawn could have waited a PPV or even two to give it proper heat. Rey Rey is in the match to be used as throw toy and nothing more.Same with Spanky on Smackdowns scramble. They need lil guys that the big guys can toss around easier. Not hard to figure out.
Shawn and Jerichos match like I said before could have waited. Shawn coming back this quick seemed forced. Like Vince realized he has booked a PPV with over a hour of championship scrambles and the this match will thrown in between two of them so people are not so worn out from the scramble matches. Sorry after two of the matches I think most people will be sick of them. God did Vince hire Russo back?
Want even talk about Primo cause he is gonna get buried pretty quickly. Sad to say that.
I feel for Cena right now. I am still in physical therapy from my second cervical fusion and I know he went in today and had his surgery done. It is a long road back. You can't sleep worth a damm and there will always be some sort of pain. My first fusion already has arthritis setting into it. Like or not Cena has a long road and decisions he will have to face about his future.
Also best wishes out to Rico and we miss yas. That's my Cup of O.
Jericho vs HBK is the best thing goin on raw right now. I loved jericho's look last night. he juslt looked like an fn prick that really belived his own hype. HbK's my all time favorite and I just turned 24 so I've been watching since I was about 4 so i'm kinda biased tward him. but I think the Jericho HBK feud and Santino and Cryme Time are the only things that keep me watching RaW now.
I actually like Rey Mysterio being entered in the scramble, there's too many bigger guys in the ring and hopefully Rey can keep the match exciting with quick falls and set the pace a little higher.

The O of the night...
I had an idea a few weeks ago that could improve WWE television. Basically as much as I think ECW has improved greatly over the last few months, it's still just a glorified indy league. I would love to see Vince do something completely original and air a show on say a Tuesday or Wednesday night called "Smackdown vs Raw: the Warzone". The show's premise would have 3 matches (each match would last about 10 - 15 minutes). Have one match where it's a Raw/ vs Raw match, then a smackdown vs smackdown match, then the 3rd match would be a smackdown vs raw match. The best part of this could be that the matches don't involve story lines. Just 2 guys tryin to prove themselves. A show of this type would add interest because of the fact that it wouldn't involve storylines so you could see a match like Shelton Benjamin and Carlito with no pushes or anything. The only rule would be that Cena and Triple H would not be allowed on the show. Why you ask? Well because they are on tv far too much as is, and besides they would bury everyone that steps into the rings storyline or not.
Anyway let me know what you think of this idea.
Santino is just gold. Did you notice when he was throwing the abdominal stretch on Kofi, he's yelling at the ref 'Ring-a da bell! Ring-a da bell!' It just makes so much sence for him to try that shit.
Then after he kissed Beth, he's prancin' around the ring saying 'She love me, She love me', when Beth gives him this glare and he just puts his head down follows her, like a good little boy. This guy is just funny as hell.
