Carlito Shoots!?

Is Carlito trying to get fired - again?

In late 2007, Carlito seemed poised to leave the WWE with his contract set to expire, and make the jump to TNA. Carlito maintained he was frustrated with his spot and wanted to be better utilized. Vince McMahon signed Carlito, concerned about the impact that such a young star would have on TNA.

Yesterday at a WWE press conference in Santiago, Chile, Carlito snapped when being asked about Triple H and his relationship with Stephanie McMahon.

"I may get in trouble, but that's why I'm here. My opinion is that it was a smart move by [HHH]. I think that's why he's champion now and has been champion in the past, it's easier to him. We, the real wrestlers, don't depend on people in the business. We don't have that benefit. We have to deliver the maximum in the ring. Others are given championships in a plate of gold or platinum, I'm happy for him."

He also ripped Triple H for never going overseas to promote shows.

Carlito went on to say that the reason he has never reached superstar status was because he has been discriminated against in WWE. He hinted at McMahon liking latinos to increase ratings but doesn't want a Latin at the top.

Some have already suggested this promo was a work - but being fed to a very kayfabed audience it seems like a serious stretch.

i dont think its a work. Carlito has done this before, so i think its real...not a work. But i believe him, Vince does things to help himself, not others. case in point the reason he wanted carilto in the "E" but uses him as a POS. i mean its fuckin bullshit. i like carlito, i mean he won the US and IC titles his first nites on both shows (Smackdown! & RAW). So i dont see why he gets some sort of push. he is decent on the stick, he is a decent worker...he should be in high midcard status by now. but he is being held back. but i dont find this as a surprise, as there are at least 5 workers in the "E" that i can think of off the top of my head that should be in a WAY better spot than they are right now, and Carilto is one of them... and it jus so happens that 2 of the others that i think are held back are non-white wrestlers (Burke & Benjamin). is it just a coincidence??? i dont think so... just my opinion....

oh yea, forgot to say. i hope to god, that he gets traded back o smackdown. it would be the BEST thing for him...he was at his best on Smachdown. RAW is the worst place to go to for amny superstars, cuz once they get there, they want out, or they get NO push whatsoever like they did on smackdown. (ie, Booker T & Kennedy, London/Kendrik). if ur gonna move a guy from one show to the other with a good status on the the show they JUST came from, to NOTHING on the new show, why trade him??? makes NON sense to me. i just HOPE TNA gets bigger. its the only way we will stop seeing BS from WWE. they need competiton to get better, in my opinion.

If only Carlito showed the same passion in the ring as he does in interviews with the media.

I agree 100% with andrew, I am a Carlito fan and I must admit...having talent...and using it are 2 different things.

regardless of angles or position, some dudes just give it 110% every time they hit the ring, I think all of us can agree that Carlito does not.

i can agree with that as well. if he doesnt like where he is, he doesnt work as hard. maybe he is jus trying to get fired then, and talking bullshit about HHH, in a ninterview, is a pretty easy way to get fired....

If this is a genuine pop at HHH and WWE then good for him, good to see someone there has some bollocks, they could do with some more!

The reason Carlito does not get a big "push" is because his character is not an attrative one. It has nothing to do with him not being "white". If that was the case, then the Rock would not have been the champion. whoever gets the belt, it is obviously political but I do not believe that it is racial. Americans are too addicted to everything being about race.
