TNT: Entering Chavo's World

So after a shittacular Royal Rumble and "Raw", ECW had nowhere to go but up. It did and the reason was? No John Cena. I hate to join the ever so popular "Cena Bashing Club," but there isn't much of an option, unless you have a desire to choke down WWE-Aid. I'd rather drink the ever scrutinized Donnie-Aid. Maybe I should stick to Mountain Dew and steer clear of any aid.

So with ECW undergoing a drastic change last week with Chavo winning ECW gold, it remained to be seen what exactly would be done with the story. Come to find out we were going to get a Mariachi celebration! I bet the black prophet is pissed off, now even the mexican guys are getting runs and music specials. We get to see a Mariachi band, but we don't get more black artists, how racist.

To start off the show, I was happy to see Kane taking on "The Gold Standard" Shelton Benjamin. I had a feeling that Shelton's push would be determined by this match. If it was a nothing match and he got squashed, he was done. Thankfully though Shelton actually did get in some good offense, and didn't even get pinned.

I know some people will hate on the way he walked off, but it saved face, and it's going to extend a program with an over superstar and former World Champion. Some people may dislike Kane, but the mans a former WWE champion and fans still remember that. So hopefully Shelton gets a decent program and isn't sitting at home come Mania.

Kofi Kingston continues to impress me. He's going to go just as far as Triple H will let him. I like his style, his moveset and his overall gimmick. I said the guy can go far and I do believe that. I just want him to be able to achieve in the world that is Planet Hunter. He needs a few things to go his way though.

He can't get too over too soon, otherwise, he'll be an "ECW" guy for a very long time. Hopefully the hype that I'd heard before I knew he was signed didn't make it up to a few guys, and they didn't have an opportunity to say, "is that what the fuss is all about?" I still think he should come out to the theme from "Cool Runnings."

Onto a guy that I've not exactly been a big fan of, Colin Delaney. I understand that it's a good thing to give the green guys TV time and allow them to get over. If this guy does get over, good for him, but is it the kind of over that allows him to remain over? When he gets his first win his support is all but over. It'll be the traditional story of the fans turning on the face. I honestly though didn't expect this to last this long.

Let me jump to the female side of things for a moment. What's with Kelly(I refuse to type it twice, it's retardo)? She is for some reason getting a push, don't get me wrong, she's easy to look at, but she's not the one doing "Playboy," Maria is. I don't understand this push, and where the hell is Mahoney? I guess the E doesn't have the Balls to go with it.

I'm usually the guy that finds something hot about every female around. Lena Yada, the poor girl just aint got it. Putting her in the ring with Victoria, Kelly and Layla, oh sweet Layla, is like putting Frank Fronte in a room with three males that women, Kanyon and Donnie love and asking them to choose. It's not fair, as a matter of fact, I think T.O. is crying right now.

Victoria oozes sexy. Kelly does as well. Now, I don't know who doesn't feel this way, but Layla is the hottest thing walking right now, bar none. I'll step out and say that I'm more partial to females who aren't white, so by defaul Layla and Lena should be the two hottest girls in the room, but Lena does absolutely nothing for me. I'm just hoping that Layla likes her soul food with a little Wonder Bread.

Moving along now. Elijah Burke still works for the E! Awesome, I had completely fucking forgot, because the E does not know how to utilize it's best talent. Just a few months ago Burke was getting a shot at the ECW Championship, now he's been relegated to writing blogs on WWE's site and not being on TV. How is it that he brought Shelton in, but they aren't involved in a team storyline?

I hate the fact that Burke isn't a major player in any storyline at this point. When the Draft comes this spring, or whenever, he truly needs to be placed somewhere that he can shine and elevate himself to the position he needs to be. He can stay on ECW, but he needs to be a major factor there. He doesn't need to be mid-card fodder anywhere.

The Mariachi celebration was at least entertaining, well, no, it was Shitertainment at it's best, by the way Hammer, you know that was STOLEN! It would be like watching Fatty get laid. So completely terrible that you couldn't stand not to watch it. Like a high speed car crash even, you feel guilty but you can't not watch.

Edge gave an "on location" interview, and Vickie is of course not doing well again. So we have Chavo and Armando celebrating the Championship victory. We got a JBL like celebration with the balloons falling, and I have to say that I did O for Chavo's singing. What I hated though, was Taz. Throughout the night that sawed-off bastard did his best attempt at a Spanish accent and words from the spanish language. It's enough of a stretch for him to speak English, let's leave it at that.

Chavo singing and dancing was nice, but it still lacks something, and that something is Pepe, the stick-horse. Want to talk about over, Pepe was over. The celebration lasted a little too long, and I was wondering how or where Punk was going to show up. The way he showed up was actually O worthy. It's the same way Shawn Michaels popped up several times before, as a security guy against Angle before Mania, and as a Riot cop during the Corporation days.

Apparently, we'll get to see Chavo defending the ECW Championship at WrestleMania against C.M. Punk. The thing there though, is I fully expect Punk to jump brands come Draft time, so unless the E wants to strip Punk of the title like they did Lashley, what would be the purpose of waiting that long? At this point though, it's asking too much of the E to be logical and do something that makes sense.

Tha Quick Hits...
*Kane def. Shelton Benjamin via Countout
*Victoria def. Kelly
*Miz'N'Morrison def. Colin Delaney-Tommy Dreamer makes the save
*CM Punk def. Elijah Burke
*Kofi Kingston def. Rob Eckos

Dude, Lena is hot. I don't know what you're looking at.

The Chavo/Punk program is pretty cool. I love the build to the next match, though if it's at Mania then you're right DJB, Punk will lose because there's no way they'll keep him on ECW come draft time.

Colin Delaney is Colin Olsen of the Olsen twins. Very entertaining team I've seen work in UWA Hardcore and The Union in Toronto.

The CM Punk angle actually gives some interest to his character, which hasnt been done since he signed with the E. I gotta say though, i saw it coming from a mile away. I was staring at the mariache guy standing with his back faced to chavo the whole time, and noticed he was standing with his face down, and he had his hair rolled up in his hat. I assumed it was punk, and was just waiting for it to happen. Still a good spot though, which makes the ECW title seem like it actually means something.

I'm upset a little though, because i was hoping for Punk to start a feud with Edge for the belt. Now the only way this'll happen in the future is if taker doesnt win the strap at Mania, because i think they'll start the slow-burning feud with Taker and Edge soon.

Kofi's the man, nuff said.

The Delaney thing reminds me too much of the Sharkboy angle going in TNA.

Agree with Skitlez, Lena is a babe. Victoria looked great tonight, and i actually thought Layla was the least attractive of the 4. I really wish theyd stop giving Layla wrestling spots and just let her dance. She botches literally at least 70 percent of her spots.

Burke's become an afterthought, and its sad. I think they need to turn him face and move him to Smackdown. Unfortunately the only move i see happening for him this year is moving to raw to main event on heat.

In a similar burial story, how do you build up a guy like Shelton for weeks leading into the Rumble, and then have him only last a minute or two. I didn't mind the chicken-shit running away gimmick he did last night, as it will help propel his heelness, but not having him make any noise at the rumble was just terrible booking. Also, I think his in ring work bring too many cheers for him to be a true heel.

The Shelton match was good and I am glad that he walked out. Even though Kane is a former champ, losing to him would kill Shelton's momentum. "O"ed for the leaping top rope suplex. "No"'ed for that slip off the apron for the Macho necksnap.

Victoria is fucking hot. Kelly x 2 isnt. Again, way too skinny. Layla needs to curl her hair back. She is hot but starting to wear waaay too much make up. I'll just add that to the reasons HD is bad. That other broad is not hot. Look up Lucy Thai (porn actress). That is what she should look like. And I'll always love the Widow's Peak.

Colin Delaney could win and continue to have some kind of support if when he wins he goes overbaord with how great he is. Doctor the tapes of his matches to make it look like he got some shots in.

Still on the ropes about Kofi. He isnt ECW material with his smiling ass. His matches are nothing but how spots. And can someone post a link to the "Cool Runnings" theme song? His tights make my head hurt they're so bright.

What the fuck are they doing to Burke?! Dude cant catch a break. Why was Chavo's celebration longer than this match? His selling of that GTS was pretty cool though. It looked like he fainted.

I've actually been looking for a link to the "Cool Runnings" theme song, I can't even find it on Itunes, and I'm starting to get irritated. "We are Jamaican got the bobsled team" fucking awesome movie.

I just don't think Yada Yada Yada is hot, she's almost like Francine, the body is there but the face is just nowhere near where it needs to be.

Glad I'm not the only one who see's Punk getting out of ECW come Draft day, he'll make a great fit on "SmackDown!" and his feud with Edge will be the thing of legend, well maybe not legend, but it'll be good.

If Layla is ever the least attractive out of 4 chicks it'll be because she wont fuck you and the other 3 will...at the same time. She does need to at least add a little curl back to that hair. A happy medium would be fine with me.

Kofi can be used anywhere because lets face it, watching white boys with bowl cuts and buzz cuts is even getting on my nerves. Less Cena, Orton, Batista, and even Hardcore Holly, Cody Rhodes, and even Kennedy and Flair. Throw some long hair, corn rows and afro's in the mix, MORE than you've got at least.

Was at the ECW/SmackDown! taping in Reading. I will say it was awesome seeing both Victoria's and Layla's butcracks. Even my wife was digging on it. I don't know if the cameras ever showed it on the TV. Kofi got a big pop from the crowd considering most people near me didn't know who he was. I don't know where to post about what happens on SmackDown!, so I'll just post a little bit here. The Edgeheads had to do their entrance like 4 times, I'm not sure why, but people were getting annoyed by the end and I think popped bigger for them than normal because they were happy to see it done and not restarted. I go almost anytime they are in Philly/Reading, PA so if there is ever somebody I should email about stuff, reply to this with a link or email address.

You could have waited until Friday night/Saturday morning when I post Friday Night Fallout, but thanks for the input anyway.

Gotcha - there was a scuffle with a superstar and 2 fans as well. I will wait for the "FNF" to post about that then.

I didn't know there were any O-sters in Reading, PA.

I lived there from 1994 to 2005.

I attended the first WWF event in Reading.
