Tha O Show is happy to announce its newest member who will now be covering the "SmackDown!" broadcast on a weekly basis: Carolina's own, The Notorious D.J.B. Here's his latest piece:Alright O-sters, here we go again. Did someone from the E read my article and steal my idea for the triple threat tag team match? Does Batista finally get the art of a promo? Does Hornswoggle work better than John Cena? Does Michelle McCool really love me? Does The Miz really belong?
All these questions answered, and much more on this week’s edition of "Talkin' Smack!".
Matt Hardy and The Miz are still involved in this quasi-feud, but does anybody care? Maybe, maybe not. But hey, it led to a decent tag match and a solid opener for the 'Down Smack' this week. I will say, however, that Mizanin stuck out like Big Daddy Donnie in the minis' locker room. MVP, Chrish Benoit and Hardy - those are three guys that can flat out work, and when you put in Miz, it’s not a hard question when asked, "
As I said, not a bad match, I just think that The Miz handled a little too much of the workload. Is MVP banged up? I think it would have come off a little better had The Miz and MVP worked this match with the traditional tag team style. You know the formula, faces hot at the start. Heels take control, rapid fire tags and face isolation, then the hot tag and 'bang, boom' into the take home.
That formula may not, however, have been utilized due to the fact that later in the night the tag belts would be on the line. But that’s for later, although I will say that it wasn’t a one on one team situation, so why not allow these three great workers and The Miz to work a traditional style match? As I said, Miz handled a good bit of the work, but that’s okay since he had three of the top guys in there with him. So he didn’t look all that bad. It was a solid fifteen minute match and it continues the recent string of excellent "SmackDown!" openers. By the way, when’s the last time "SmackDown!" didn’t have a good opening bout?
I would start this next paragraph off by saying that Michelle McCool and Jillian Hall are to "SmackDown!" diva wrestling what Melina and Mickie James are to "Raw", but who else is a consistent female worker on "SmackDown!"? Maybe though, the E can use the draft lottery to focus the female workers on one brand and have a major competition for the women’s belt and make it mean something. Well, it won’t ever really mean anything, but it’s an idea.
I know it isn’t true, but I’ve heard the rumors that Michelle McCool loves me. Good women’s match with a back breaker, or a boob buster, whatever you want to call it for the win. By the way, oh Dr. of Titology, what is the correct tit-term for "boob buster"?Mother of God, we have a midget match. YES A MIDGET MATCH! I know it’s sad, but I cannot help being the biggest midget mark on God’s green earth. A solid match...and for the first time ever, I think I audibly O’ed for Michael Cole's call of "The Tadpole Splash".
Hey, whoever you are in WWE who stole my idea, hire me! You know I can write it better than you can. Deuce and Domino really are getting their roles as heel champs and have improved drastically with their re-push. Cherry too seems to be getting more comfortable in her role.
William Regal and Dave Taylor need not be heralded. We all know how damn good they are. Paul London and Brian Kendrick as well, we all know that they are amazing. I will say however, that Kendrick and London are truly unbelievable. They are one of the few exceptions who can get pops either in an arena on the grand stages, or at an indy show. That speaks volumes for their ability. Consider that, and answer this, when’s the last time you heard them cut a promo?
On to the match, it was a good one - one worthy of tag team gold, er scratch that, tag team "belts"! So why can’t this be PPV stuff? A very good showing by all, I even thought that things were timed well, and the match itself was executed quite well.
Speaking to what I said earlier about Cherry, I don’t think that the finish would have been based as much around her had she not improved a great deal. A month ago, this wouldn’t have been a good option. She’d have busted her pretty ass trying to get to the guy with those roller skates on. She even looks more comfortable on the skates now.
How about this though - are London and Kendrick headed for a split? In pivotal matches, the two have been separated and it has cost the team the match. Maybe they’ll play it off as miscommunication, but most likely the E will turn it into a feud.
"King of the Jungle" Mark Henry - one question about the gimmick: WHY? Kane is an incredibly good worker for his size, but with Mark Henry, he is limited. Hell, who isn’t limited in the ring with Henry? But when the offense is limited to punches, clotheslines and...well, punches - it leaves a lot to be desired. Why are they putting these guys on One Night Stand? Damn that Vickie Guerrero! By the way, I’m not displeased that she’s back on TV."Cutting Edge" with Batista should be fun, right? I’m far from a Batista mark, but with Edge, he is automatically much better. The two have a solid chemistry, and my money says that Edge can carry Batista to a good cage match coming up at One Night Stand.
Call me crazy but the segment last night was pretty entertaining. It wasn’t the best, but it’d be hard to deny its "entertainingness". "I don’t need your luck. Yes you do! No I don’t! Yes you do! No I don’t!"
Had one of the two went grade school on us it’d have been fan-damn-tastic. "I’m rubber and you’re glue, so everything you say bounces off of me and sticks to you". I am incredibly happy as well that Batista walked out of "SmackDown!" on top, hopefully ensuring that the E's booking kicks in and Edge walks out of Jacksonville as the World Champ.
Alright, that’ll do it for this week. Here are the quick results for those that missed it below. Until next time, "OOOOOOHHH!"
Matt Hardy & Chris Benoit def. The Miz & MVP
Michelle McCool def. Jillian
Hornswoggle def. Lil' Boogeyman
Deuce & Domino def. Regal & Taylor and London & Kendrick to retain their belts
Mark Henry def. Kane via countout

I honestly thought that "The Cutting Edge" segment was god awful. The only entertaining thing about it was how horrible it was scripted. Awesome article though, keep em coming.
I can honestly say that had it been anyone else in there with Edge I'd have probably hated the segment.
What I loved though, was that the E let their guard down on Batista and realized that Edge can draw out the best in anybody. Edge could probably make Nathan Jones look like a world champ. But back to it, Batista is a traditionally bad promo guy, and that's ok. Last night he wasn't, they used humor and short lines with a fast pace. He was done talking quicker and Edge was able to use the lines and make his own which made it seem like both guys were supposed to be cutting promos.
Maybe Batista could be a strong promo guy if humor were involved in all his promos. I think Plunkett feels this way, at least about one promo. Go back to before Eddie died, do you remember the Eddie/Tista promo? Batista and Eddie were teasing the friendship enemies angle, and during the promo Tista pulled out some Tommy-Boy(or blacksheep can't remember) Friends don't shake hands Eddie, Friends gotta hug."
I'm just saying, the best guys on the mic if put with Batista can make Batista look strong. All the E has to do is, use Paul Heymans method, accentuate the positives.
I'm glad you liked the article bro.
Welcome aboard bro, great article
Car-O-lina runnin' wild on Tha O Show
Gotta give it up to my homie, awesome article.
Damn, imagine the "O's" of London vs. Kendrick, throw in a gimmick maybe, complete O fest.
Great article. At first I wasnt looking forward to the Cutting Edge but it wasnt that bad.
I had a discussion with my sis who is a Cena mark and we were talking about Edge. She is like I hate him. When I explained that you hate him cause he makes you hate him cause he plays heel so well. And then I told her to look at his matches and you will see he can get it done in the ring. She seen the lite!!! She still dont like him but she understands now.
It was an ok Smackdown. I did like the Kane/Henry match. Like you I see no point to this. To be honest .. I dont see a point to Mark Henry being in wrestling at all.
Not really sure why you crapped on the opening match as much as you did. I don't like Miz either, but his un-traditional style made things interesting in that match. The clothesline in the corner was actually pretty sweet, as was the move he did through the ropes.
Personally, I think MVP is overrated and the only thing I liked from him in that match was that sweet kick to the face in the corner. (That was awesome) But, he may be as you said...."banged up".
Smackdown is still the better show though and I thought it was pretty solid.
Let me clarify. I said the match was a solid opener, I just thought that Miz took TOO much of the work load. As much as I hate Miz, he isn't completely terrible and didn't do a bad job.
Like I said, the workload thing is what got to me because it wasnt a normal heel match. That's my thing about it. It just wasn't a/the match I expected. That doesn't make it bad or anything, just left me with some questions.
