Jill Jarrett, Jeff's wife of many years passed away yesterday after a long battle with cancer. Jill is survived by her husband and her three young children.
Jeff was constantly by the side of his wife as her condition worsened over the last few months. The fact Jeff was willing to make his scheduled television and pay-per-view appearances is a testament to his courage and work ethic. It was that same work ethic that was called upon the night Owen died during the Over The Edge PPV.

Owen Hart was set to make an entrance from the ceiling...and he fell from the ceiling. And..I have the unfortunate responsibility to let everyone know that Owen Hart has died. Owen Hart has tragically died from that accident here tonight.
That is the announcement Jim Ross made to the fans who were watching on PPV that night. A similar announcement was not made to the people who were live at the Kemper Arena. Many have questioned that decision.
Though his death lives in infamy, Owen Hart will forever be remembered as a legendary prankster, a caring and selfless man and as one of the greatest performers of his generation.
On behalf of the entire staff, Tha O Show would like to send our deepest sympathies to Jeff, his children, and the friends and family of Jill Jarrett. We would also like to send our thoughts and prayers to Martha Hart and her two children who will remember May 23rd as a day of tragedy and mourning.

Of all the wrestlers that have come and gone or who have passed away I think I miss Owen the most. He was a great wrestler, I think he is one of the best to never hold a world title. He also seemed like a great man away from the ring.
My prayers go out to the Jarrett family as well to the Hart family.
Though Owen was before my time I have seen some of his work. He was an amazing wrestler and from what I have heard an amazing person. May his soul rest in peace.
Owen Hart was my favorite wrestler and when that happened, I was beyond crushed. I was 16 at the time and to go to school the next day and hear people laughing and joking about it made me as sick to my stomach as I've ever been in my life.
I remember sitting up till 1am to watch the PPV due to the time difference over here and hearing that announcement from J.R
My heart and my best wishes go out to both the Jarret and Hart Family's.
Well said Frank. I was watching the PPV live on my tv when Owen passed. I remember sitting there holding my breathe hoping for the best. I think about him often and wonder how the industry would be if he was still here.
My heart also goes out to Jeff Jarret and his family. I have just recently gotten the chance to learn more about Jeff and his personal life. His dedication to his family and the industry shows what kind of man he really his. He is in my prayers always.
I have many fond memories of Owen; my favorite being a simple trip to Chinook Mall in Calgary. At least, it SHOULD have been a simple trip... in and out in 20 minutes.
Instead it was a 90 minute marathon through a never-ending stream of kids and other fans; all wanting a few seconds with Owen. This was during his feud with Jason the Terrible in Stampede Wrestling. To say that feud, and Owen, touched a chord in that city is understating the facts. They fucking LOVED him.
I was amazed and awed watching Owen give so much of himself to random fans away from the arena on his 'own' time. A classier act I've never met.
