Hart Inducted Into Hall O Fame

Last week, Tha O Show was proud to announce the formation of professional wrestling’s first kayfabe free Hall O Fame.

Tha O Show is proud to announce Owen Hart as its first inductee into tha hall.

Hart received a staggering 39 of a possible 52 first place votes. 52 professional wrestlers across North America were sent ballots by email, and asked to vote for three names.

Their first choice was to receive three points, two points for second choice and one for third. Owen received 119 points and was the run away winner.

Owen Hart is not in the WWE Hall Of Fame for political reasons. Quite simply because he died in the middle of the ring during a pay per view. The controversy surrounding Hart’s death is still on people’s minds almost eight years later.

Is Eddie Guerrero's resume fundamentally better than that of Owen Hart? You could argue they are very comparable.

In addition to the fact that Owen Hart was an incredibly gifted technical wrestler, he was also a revolutionary in the WWF in the late 80s, bringing a new twist to the high flyer’s style that the company had not seen before.

Here’s a quick glance at Owen Hart’s title history and significant accomplishments.

  • New Japan Pro Wrestling
    • IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship (1 time)

  • Stampede Wrestling
    • Stampede North American Heavyweight Championship (2 times)
    • Stampede Wrestling British Commonwealth Mid-Heavyweight Championship (1 time)
    • Stampede Wrestling International Tag Team Championship (1 time) – with Ben Bassarab

  • United States Wrestling Association
    • USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship (1 time)

  • World Wrestling Federation
    • WWF Intercontinental Championship (2 times)
    • WWF European Championship (1 time)
    • WWF World Tag Team Championship (4 times) – with Yokozuna (2), British Bulldog (1) and Jeff Jarrett (1)
    • King of the Ring (1994)

Owen’s career and life ended at just 34 years. He was in line for a world title push, and looking to be rounding into form as a main eventer.

Other wrestlers that appeared on this first ballot with Hart included: Hulk Hogan, Bruno Sammartino and The Rock among others.

Thank You for creating another very important award/honor for acknowledging wrestlers who's careers may otherwise be left out of wrestling history, as we know it today.

The Hart family has brought so much into this sport and it goes without saying, but what a great contribution and sacrifice the Late-Great Mr. Owen Hart made. I'm just glad it desn't have to be left unsaid.

The professional wrestler is honored by the fans every time he/she gets into the ring...
Whether they Boo or Cheer is irrelevant, the fans make the matches that much better because they come to see the show. When a professional wrestler dies while doing his job~In my opinion~There should be an automatic entry into some Hall of Fame.
Thank You to Tha O Show for recognizing this need and for creating it's own
Hall O Fame.

Owen deserves a place in any Hall of Fame, and will end up in them all eventually. Had he not been taken from us too soon, I have no doubt he would have worn a World title. He had great charisma and outstanding in ring ability.

Supposedly (and based on the way the storyline has been going previously), had Michaels back not taken a shit on him, Owen was supposed to eventually feud with him, most likely winning the title then. Of course, Michaels did get hurt, Austin was asked to carry the ball, and Owen got stuck in the midcard with Nation Of Domination and then Jeff Jarrett.
