BSE doing things right

Last night, Dan-e-o and I made a trip to Club 107 in Mississauga (just outside the city of Toronto) to check out some action on the independent scene.

I'm embarrased to say that after having been such a staunch supporter of the indies for years, this is the first time I've been to a local card in years. I am able to say, that after tonight, I will once again sing the praises of the indy circuit. We attended a show held by BSE - Blood, Sweat and Ears. They are a very cool, young company with a fresh gimmick. Unbelievable matches from top to bottom, and a musical interlude at intermission. Generally these tend to be heavy rock bands, but tonight we heard a local hip hop crew do their thing.

On tonight's show - Tyson Dux, Tornado, The Blackouts, Michael Elgin --- and, GET THIS - Traci Brooks, Bobby Roode, Chris Sabin, Steve Corino and Christopher freakin' Daniels!

Finding an indy show ANYWHERE that features decent talent isn't always easy. The better companies will bring in a name every now and then. Most commonly, an older star who's making his rounds on the retirement tour. Such is not the case in BSE. Sabin and Daniels are arguably the two best wrestlers on the planet. Bobby Roode will be heavyweight champion in TNA within a year, Traci Brooks is simply incredible and Steve Corino... well, O Show fans know all about The King.

The really cool part about Corino's involvement last night, was that he made a SURPRISE run in. He wasn't advertised to be on the show at all. He came in to take on Frankie The Mobster who complained about not receiving enough competition in BSE. They had a solid match which the crowd was very appreciative of. Imagine. You pay your money to see some big names and another HUGE name shows up to surprise you. That's absolutely phenomenal.

This show also featured all of the great interaction between wrestlers and fans that indy lovers have come to expect. At one point during the main event, Daniels stood on the ring apron and called the play by play of the match for a ringside observer. Another hilarious moment came after a series of double hip tosses to everyone in sight by Sabin & Daniels, they also threw the ref across the ring. The official did exact his revenge and got a massive pop as he tossed James Champagne with a beel of his own. Great stuff.

BSE gets it. Awesome work rate. Comedy. Interaction. A cool, fresh concept. An outstanding facility where they run regular monthly shows.

Another outstanding aspect is that the BSE is also training wrestlers and developing their own talent from within. There are even six BSE regulars who will be making the trip to Ottawa soon for the much talked about WWE try out. Those men are: James Champagne, Kobra Kai, Cody Deaner, Vane, Frankie the Mobster and Pierre Shadows. We certainly wish them all the best in fulfilling their dreams.

We here at Tha O Show are very excited about potential opportunites to work with BSE in the future, and hope that all of our faithful readers will also support them. If you're not in the Greater Toronto Area, visit their website. Check out their DVDs, merch and other gear. It's at bloodsweatandears.com

yo BigDaddy! I saw you guys there last night! You really seemed to enjoy the Sabin match! We were going to come say hi but you were on the other side of the club! Anyways, love the shirts!

BSE is dope! Miles ahead of AWF, who I used to work with years ago.

Don, you forgot to mention the ill comedy spots when Sabin was tagged into the ring, hops to the top rope (as if to do a moonsault or something) then slowly climbs down the ropes to enter the ring.

Daniels, one upped him, by later being tagged in, entering the ring through the ropes, exiting the ring on the other side of the turnbuckle, spinning around it, and re entering the ring to take part in the match.

ALL wrestlers were class acts too.

O-sters, be sure to check out Tha O Show myspace page for all of the pics with some of BSE's finest.

It was REALLY dope to catch up with some of my AWF fam like Traci Brooks (love ya girl), El Fuego (who's runnin the show over at BSE) and Flesh Gordon.

Not to mention meeting some of favourite TNA stars in Chris Sabin (who I actually met years before), Christopher Daniels and Bobby Roode.

Do check out BSE's website and if you can, future events. The next one in Mississauga is October 29th and will feature TNA's current X Division Champion Senshi!!

Here is a clip I shot last night of Tracy Brooks getting accidentally groped by Referee Dave Linton. Hilarious spot. Man Linton's face looks like the he just died and went to boobie heaven.
