One Night Stand = O-mazing! (As predicted)

Well, well, well. Looks like this short-lived "O" Show feud has nicely ended in a Dan-e-o victory. I guess that would make me the official "O" Show champion! Thanks very much Big Daddy...I told you so. ECW is wicked. It was then, and it was tonight!

But for real...ANYONE who tuned in to ECW's "One Night Stand" was a winner tonight. Donnie was right, we couldn't possibly count all of the O's that took place. We O'd more than a slut in a gangbang porno. The PPV was sick, plain and simple. How WWE is going to follow this up with "Vengeance", I have no idea.

Again, for me, the resurgence of ECW is not so much about how close to the original ECW they can make this brand. It's how different they can make the new ECW brand from the current WWE product. "One Night Stand" proved exactly how they're going to do that.

Even matches between WWE superstars like Kurt Angle and Randy Orton stayed fairly true to the ECW-ness of the evening. Angle was able to go back to his true wrestling roots and pull out a victory using sheer wrestling ability....no funny stuff, no gimmicky finish, no outside interference...just a dope wrestling match with dope wrestling holds.

However, I do agree with Donnie...the PPV wasn't perfect. Why did Rey Rey and Sabu not have a finish? I mean if you don't want Rey to drop the title...how about letting him win a match? He is, after all, the World Champion! And yeah, what's up with Edge costing Cena the title? (Not that I'm complaining, I've been begging for Cena to lose the strap for months. Him losing the belt is an "O" in and of itself). Joey Styles kinda answered this question by noting that RVD would have to face Edge, the #1 contender for the gold, at "Vengeance". But wasn't the belt supposed to be re-Christened the ECW Championship? What the hell is up with this ECW/WWE Championship? Do competitors from both brands get to vie for this title? Kinda stupid if you ask me. But we'll see where this goes. Crazy O's in the Rey/Sabu match...Sabu is truly suicidal.

And we would deserve to lose the title of "O" Show founders if we didn't send out a super-huge, massive "O" to Edge, Tommy Dreamer (and especially) Mick Foley and Terry Funk. The real kings of "O" provided a true testament to the definition of "hardcore": Barbedwire tables and baseball bats. Blood pouring from nearly every orifice. Funk nearly losing an eye. Foley being set on fire. Edge humping his way to a win (so that's why Beulah and Lita were involved in the match!...kinda stupid to announce Foley and Edge the winners when Edge got the pin on Beulah...wouldn't that make Lita a winner/actual match participant as well?).

All of the unanswered questions aside, it's no coincidence that "One Night Stand" begins with "O". I hope the ECW shows find their way to a broadcaster in Canada ASAP. I'm dying to see more of what this new brand has to offer. Here's hoping the regular WWE brand can somehow keep pace. Cuz as I previously mentioned, the new ECW product has made it cool to watch and love wrestling again.
