X's and O's

Damn! Did you watch Destination "O"? Uh, I mean "Destination X" this past Sunday? If ever there was a reason to have "Tha O Show", it's a TNA Wrestling Pay-Per-View. While TNA's "Impact" show doesn't always deliver, each PPV comes complete with O's-a-plenty. This past Sunday at "Destination X" was no different.

WWE could definitely learn something from these shows - dare I say it. From the opening bout - Jay Lethal VS. Alex Shelley (dudes who would, in all likelihood, be reduced to jobber roles if they were in WWE) - put on an "O" worthy match with a number of high energy moves and submission holds. One of the sickest spots in the match was when Lethal and Shelley managed to get each other in a leglock and turn each other upside down on their heads to begin a furious slap-fest! It was nuts.

The International X Showcase match (a four way between Petey Williams, Sonjay Dutt, Puma and Chris Sabin) was insane! To be able to describe this match as it unfolded would be impossible - you'd easily run out of breath. While WWE Fatal Four Way matches will almost always utilize the classic formula of having two superstars take rest spots outside of the ring and away from the action of the two competitors in the ring - TNA matches like these keep the tempo at a fast pace with all four combatants in on the action. Big Daddy, Darkside and I could barely finish screaming out an "O" before the next "O" came! Truly dope.

And finally, the Ultimate X match - (Ultimate O to us) - was an obvious O-fest between Samoa Joe, A.J. Styles and Christopher Daniels. These three competitors are the very definition of our

"O" concept. Big Daddy caught word that the match ended 7 to 8 minutes prematurely because Samoa Joe was temporarily blinded and couldn't pull off some of the planned high spots for the end of the match - and it was still sick! Notice I haven't mentioned the winners of any of the matches I've highlighted? It almost doesn't matter. Now, of course, I didn't mention all of the matches...and I'm not a big fan of all TNA wrestlers (*eh hem* Monty Brown *cough* Jeff Jarrett) but the entertainment value of a TNA pay-per-view is practically unparalleled. If you haven't seen one, you're missing out.
