O-sters, for the second time in history, Tha O Show is proud to present a show recap in tag team format. Introducing first, from Charlotte, North Carolina, DJB! (Whose words are in regular print). And, his tag team partner, the only product that Buffalo, New York can be proud of, Christopher Casúr! (whose words are in italics) Known collectively as...Above The Law!This week’s edition of “SmackDown” was filled with action, and twists and turns. WWE is in the midst of taking strides to avert disaster. The ratings have been terrible, “Raw” “SmackDown” and ECW have all felt it, and within the last three weeks all have seemed to convalesce.
As was alluded to some weeks ago the Edge/Vickie storyline seemed like one of love and affection, but was going to change. This week it did just that. They went from happy couple a week ago, to Edge slapping around Hawkins & Ryder Monday night, and now the marriage is off.
Thank God. Some people have said that they think Vickie Guerrero is a great heel, but I personally think she brings nothing worthwhile to the table. Not to mention, this signals the end of the La Familia stable, which was nothing more than Edge having to get a bunch of cronies over. That also did nothing. It brought Edge's character down, and I'm glad it's over.
I hated the reaction of Vickie at the conclusion of the show, though. I know that it's a staged angle, but part of staging anything is making it look realistic. I really doubt that any woman whose fiancé just left her would instinctively start stamping her foot. I'm also pretty sure that it wouldn't take nearly a minute delay for the crying and screaming to start. Any engaged men want to dump their bride-to-be to help me prove this hypothesis? I'll buy you an O Show t-shirt if you do!
Of course Triple H had to have something to do with it. Seems to me every time he gets involved with a long term storyline that storyline reaches its terminus. I have no problem with that particular storyline ending, but it’s yet another domino in WWE-land that falls his way.
On the heels of this comes the announcement of the Great American Bash main event that will see Triple H defend his WWE Championship against Edge. I don’t really think it should be safe at this time to say which way that one could go, but with H primed to break Flair’s record and Edge not known for the lengths of his reigns, it IS safe to say that the title could change hands a few times.
I don't foresee Edge going over at The Great American Bash. Triple H is probably still pissed that Edge pulled a power play to move to "SmackDown!" last year in order to avoid having to feud with Triple H. Too bad Mr. Copeland wasn't able to do the same thing this year.
Jeff Hardy is arguably the biggest non-World or former World Champion name to change hands in the draft. His victory of John Morrison is something we’ve seen before, but it’s fresh because we haven’t seen it in a long time. There are a lot of places Hardy can do and things he can do.
His limitations are only himself and where the creative team writes him. I don’t foresee anymore suspensions at least anytime soon, and the reaction he receives night after night and the merchandise he sells tell me that he does make the company money, and he can be one of their world champions, and where better to do that than “SmackDown?”
How about a show that doesn't have Triple H and Undertaker as top faces? Jeff Hardy is a huge draw, and is remarkably over, but I have a nagging feeling that he will never get to be a World Champion through his own personal choices and lack of discretion. However, I do agree that him picking up another win over the since-repackaged and since-ECW Champion John Morrison is a big win for him. Hopefully he'll work his way to the main event, but I'm not holding my breath.
I was so happy to see Umaga come out and squash a guy, even though it was Funaki. Umaga needs those types of victories, he needs that stigma restored and he needs to continue this for some time. He doesn’t need three wins and a few losses. He doesn’t need ten wins and a loss. He needs to go on a streak much like his initial streak.
Umaga is a damn good worker and he can make anyone look good, especially himself. Let him make himself look good for a long time, and then when you have a guy that you’re almost ready to pull the trigger on to get to the next level then let him put someone over. Not Jeff Hardy, and not Triple H, they don’t need anymore victories like that.
"SmackDown!" has been short on top guys for a while, especially top heels. Edge. That's it, and you can only stretch one heel so far. MVP is the only other guy on the show right now that has future main event heel written all over him, but the fact that Umaga has been used as a monster and a main eventer before makes it much easier and faster to move him into the main event. If creative is smart, it won't take long for Umaga to work his way up the food chain. But for the love of God, don't EVER put a microphone in his hands!
The 4th of July fatal four way was a great idea. I mean not because it was the fourth of July and there were four guys sitting around, it’s because it was good action and it established contenders for the United States Championship. Shelton Benjamin apparently isn’t going to be pushed to the next level anytime soon so what else is there for him right now?
Kennedy apparently won’t be ascending to the next level either, so he’s yet another name in the hat. Same goes for Chavo, he got his run as ECW Champion and now he’s relegated to mid-card level once again with no hope of advancement. In my opinion these are the three top contenders to the United States Championship for some time to come.
"SmackDown!" had no midcard as of two months ago, and in one night they stacked the division by setting Sheton Benjamin, Chavo Guerrero and Ken Kennedy in the mix. I think Kennedy is beyond the midcard and should be slowly moved into the main event; however, everything else makes sense as Shelton Benjamin will make a great addition to the midcard, and Chavo Guerrero is a career midcarder.
I don't know what specific feud will come from this, as there was really no long-standing feuds going into this match, but regardless, it's a good thing. Unlike past years, this year's draft has actually served to shake things up, and I'm excited about the direction that this company is going in. As I said earlier this week, new feuds with new faces have led to a renewed interest by me in the product. Also, for anybody who took offense to the tag team name I came up with, suck a dick.

I say the Edge/Vickie "breakup" is all a set up and will come full circle at the Great American Bash when Vickie helps Edge win the WWE title.
Firstly, that kick Kennedy did was sweet, I really didn't see it coming, was like page out of Amazing Red's playbook.
The 4way match itself was kinda a let down, but it is WWE, and I guess you have to expect less once the bell rings, which sucks because guys like Shelton and Kennedy can do a lot.
I really think Matt could be a major heel if he just re-did himself. Lets first start off with the fact that he was never the cool Hardy, meaning when he and Jeff split up, he needed to do something to stand out, but for the most part, he's always looked like a Hardy boy. Jeff don't have to change, he was already unique. I say Matt gets a hair cut, change up the attire, and show the creative team he wants to be at the top.
I'm very happy Nattie dyed her hair, because WWE really needs to put out a memo on how many girls can have blond hair. It's not like they get distinguished by wrestling skill, so looking just like the last girl signed makes you expendable.
Kelly Kelly did a dropkick, and it was good...yes, my jaw dropped when it happen. I also noticed she got a bigger pop from the crowed than any other diva out there on Friday.
Hawkins/Ryder can actually get it done in the ring, I hope that at least one of them can start to go further in the company.
I couldn't be happier about anything that leads to Vikki off TV. I don't hate her because she's a heel, I hate her because she's annoying, and just straight up nasty; lets not forget that she was Eddie's wife. I'm not saying she shouldn't move on with her life, but sticking your tongue down Edge's throat every week, cmon...just stop it. Hopefully she's gone from WWE sooner or later.
While the stories and flow of WWE's brands have gotten a lot better in just this week, I see they still haven't really bother to evolve when it comes to the wrestling matches. But considering how many dates they work a year, I guess better matches would be asking a bit for those guys to put they're body through.
Turn Umaga face, let him run through some guys and wen you're ready to put Koslov into the picture, book the monster vs. monster feud and its a done deal.
Hey guys I made a petition to get Dan "The Mouth" Lovranski removed from the airwaves, hopefully you guys can pass it along and help us get rid of this cancer. United we are strong ** replace \ with forward slash ** www.petitiononline.com\Mouth\petition.html
Who did the first tag team article?
I can honestly say I really like this one, though the styles are different they mesh incredibly well. Suffice to say we have new O Show Tag Team Champions
shitkicker-
Back in October, Dan and I did a tag team article (even though I think he just did it so he could throw a cheap shot at the Buffalo Sabres in at the end).
If you liked the tag team article, I can't speak for DJ, but I'd be happy to do more of them in the future.
Glad you liked the article shitkicker. Thanks for the compliments.
I'd be down with doing more tag team articles down the road.
