A long time friend of mine, Scott D'Amore has been praised for the last five and a half years as one of the top young minds in the business, while working in various backstage capacities for TNA.Scott has worked as booker, producer, agent, on air personality - he probably sold tickets and popcorn too. Most recently, D'Amore has been the man agenting the highly successful women's division. I'm sure it came as a shock to TNA management when Scott gave his notice yesterday and said he was leaving Total Non Stop Action Wrestling.
D'Amore who also runs Border City Wrestling in Windsor Ontario, and has business ventures unrelated to wrestling back home, decided he needed to be home to dedicate more time to the projects he currently had on the go. Rumors of D'Amore being fired are ridiculous. He has offered to work with TNA until the end of the month to finish up his obligations, and TNA accepted his terms.
I met Scott in 1996, and he has been nothing but professional over the years. As a memeber of the indy wrestling scene, D'Amore was one of my personal favs to watch in the ring. Not because he was the best wrestler, but because he had the ability to draw the audience in and captivate them. He knows how to tell a story. It's one of the reasons he's such a talented booker / agent.
Don't get me wrong... he was a solid worker too. The door remains open in TNA should D'Amore ever decide to return. Here's hoping this work out for the best for one of wrestling's truly great people.
Other news:
- Forrest Griffin defeated Rampage Jackson on Saturday night to become the new UFC Light Heavyweight champion.
- Jackson admitted defeat, swore never to take nine months off again. His camp is protesting the unanimous decision.
- TNA Knockout Moose (AKA Mickie Knuckles on the indies) broke her femur on the weekend in an IWA-MS match against Sara Del Ray. Knucles will have surgery today. Early indications are that she could be out of action for a year.
- Many friends of Tha O Show worked the Shimmer tapings this past weekend in Philly. LuFisto, Jennifer Blake, Cat Power (aka Hailey Rogers), Portia Perez and Miss Danyah (who worked Awesome Kong). The original Scream Queen of Tha O Show, Daffney was taken out by Cat Power. We'll kick her ass for you Daff!
- The lawsuit surrounding O Show friend Gangrel and the WWE has been settled. The CCP had been suing for the Fed's use of the Gangrel name. They have a trademark for the same name in a role-playing game. The Judge dismissed the case because CCP could not prove that they were actively using the trademark.

And, I hope she has a speedy recovery and comes back better and stronger then before.
Oh, and yes, D'Amore on the O Show, please!!!
Wow, talk about a royal f'up for Moose. She was getting pushed as a KO contender. I'm more annoyed that she got injured than I am feeling bad for her.
Annoyed? It's not like she did something wrong!!! If anything that overrated bitch Del Ray is to blame for not catching her. I was at the MS show and I heard a lot of people were pissed at Miss Death Rey.
did damore train rhyno?
Wow that clip made me cringe. I watched it because I had the same exact injury happen to me in highschool at football practice when i got tackled and landed the wrong way. That look of shock on her face as soon as she looked down on her leg was the same exact look on my face, like, "holy shit, I didnt know my leg could bend there." I wish her a full recovery, cuz its gona be a long one, thats for sure.
was frontes chest more hairer than that?
Damore completed Rhynos training
thanks Anonymous...dear god...am i the only one posting on this damn comments? wheres the traffic at?
anyways..damores the best
Cat Power cheated - I'll beat her next time.
Also - I was at the IWA show doing commentary of the 30 Iron Women Match. The accident happened 6 feet in front of me. And that's exactly what it was - an accident. Del Ray is not overrated and Mickie is one of the best as well. The match was fifteen mintues in and it was turning into a 5 star for sure. Anyone who blames Del Ray is a dumbass. If you watch the clip - she was right there. It was a unfortunate thing, and I feel so bad for Mickie as she is a dear friend - and I know Del Ray does too. Some people need not be so judgmental.
