Tha TNE Throwaway - Guest Edition

Here we are again, O-sters, just days before a pay-per-view. Weren't we just here? Only two weeks ago, we were all getting ready for an amazingly subpar Judgment Day.

Now, the wrestling world is bracing itself for a pay-per-view that honestly, I'm not sure how good or bad is going to be. On one hand, One Night Stand will feature three abysmal title matches. But on the other hand, the rest of the card features good talent in the ring with each other.

But there is no second guessing this article, loyal O-sters...this is Tha TNE Throwaway.

I have to start off by mentioning the proverbial elephant in the room. Bobby Lashley and the ECW World Heavyweight Championship are finally being showcased on Tuesday Night Extreme. Even though this storyline has been overly drawn out, and even though any luster this angle may have had is now long gone, at least the right belt (fuck you, Vince) is on the right show.

You know what I want to see happen with that title? I want to see Lashley win on Sunday to abort this horrible program. Hey, did I hear abortion? Let's give the title to Snitsky the following Tuesday! Think about it...without the title (or this feud) Lashley is free to stay on "Monday Night Garbage", while Snitsky, who was supposedly getting a push anyway, can defend the title against TNE guys who actually deserve it. You know...CM Punk, Elijah Burke, Marcus Cor Von and so on.

Speaking of Punk, I don't think enough can be said about the straight-edge extremist. He really is the complete package, and if Vince didn't have such a hard-on for big guys, Punk would be main eventing already. His match Tuesday night against Burke was dope, and I'm looking forward to nothing short of an extreme O-fest when The New Breed faces Punk, Sandman and Dreamer in a six-man tables match this Sunday. The booking is kind of shoddy, but I don't care.

Randy Orton, like it or not, was the most logical choice to face Rob Van Dam this Sunday. The New Breed is now feuding with Punk, Umaga is busy being Vinnie's personal henchman, and it's way too late for the E to put any sort of real thought into developing a feud for the soon-to-be-departing RVD. That leaves you with the Legend Killer. Last night's ECW show hinted that he is also going to be the guy who puts Dreamer out of commission.

But at least we're going to be receiving the chief export of Van Dam...O's. And lots of them. A stretcher match against Randy Orton, where it is understood by the smarks that Van Dam will never again appear following the match, equals huge spots. Orton may be getting a push soon for a championship (simply because there's nobody else left), and this mini-angle in which his title of "Legend Killer" is restored will be the launching pad for it if he does.

Even though One Night Stand is noticeably not a TNE exclusive show, the superstars of Tuesday Night Extreme are contributing enough to maybe make this show bearable. One thing's for sure, it will be much better than Judgment Day.

I agree that the undercard at One Night Stand looks pretty good. I'm looking forward to Orton vs. RVD, the ladder match between The Hardys & Benjamin & Haas and the tables match between the New Breed and the team of Punk, Sandman & Dreamer.
I think if they have One Night Stand next year they should change the name to maybe "Sundy Bloody Sunday" or maybe the old ECW title of "Hardcore Heaven" cause "One Night Stand" doesn't seem to fit it anymore.
