it's Caribana time already??? Feels like just yesterday it was opisode 178 and Carlito Carribean Cool was the guest for Caribana week.

Or Episode 127 when Hornet was in studio and Dan-e-o was Caribana marking.

Or every other Caribana celebration Tha O Show has done.

Man the years - they fly by.

Fuck You Fatty.

Holy fuck Fatty Frank. Get a clue. The osters love to hate you and hate to love you and its because of how you've been presented to us for years. "if you think I'm really Fatty then you're a mark"

Did you really feel the need to clue us marks in? Are you feelings that hurt when fans actually write to you and call you Fatty?

To turn it around on the hosts (re: Donnie) and state that they / he are the ones who can't tell difference between work and shoot seems very dubious...

Especially when this is your second major blow up on the show where you lost sight of your who you are.

There are thousands of us who wish we had your spot.

And for the record, if you have "other goals in wrestling radio", I for one would not even blink.

As an Oster since episode one, and one that puts his money where is mouth is (i've bought cds, mp3s, tshirts and travelled to Toronto for indy shows - Oblivion and more) my opinion is one you should probably heed.

When you left the show a few years ago, it was out of sight, out of mine. It never even crossed my mind to google and find out where you went. Didn't care.

Here's hoping you find your smile HB-Gay.

My comments for 229:

1) Road Doagg is amazing...
2) The energy on the show was off the charts!
3) I will be buying a blinking shirt!!!!!
4) I WILL be at 'Bana!!!
5) Frank IS a piece of shit and I have NO IDEA why you guys are even giving him the chance to transform himself. If he wanted to resign, let him.

This is one opinion that I feel I need to leave before I even listen to any more of this show...

I usually listen to this show because it's entertaining, hilarious and helps me to forget my troubles for an hour or two per week. Taking time out of this show to present your on-air beefs/drama among the cast members goes against why I would want to listen to the show, period.

Honestly, after the whole situation on this week's show (reading his email on air... Good Job Donny!!) he's not going to "get over" no matter what he does. His Heat has now become X-Factor Heat.

So since Donny said on air that it would be the listeners who would ultimately lose out if you and Dan had just fired Frank Off the Air why not give the Listeners the choice of whether to keep him around or fire him?

Put up a vote or a Poll on the site where we can choose whether we want to continue to listen to Frank or if we would just like to hear your fire him.

I'm sure if it was left up to us that Frank would just be ancient history.

EC said...

Is this a work with the Fronte character to capitalize on CM Punk's storyline? Who knows?! Sit back, enjoy the explosion, and wait to see if he stays as an on air character.

The fact is the character is very weak on the show, comes across as PRIMARILY goofy, and never really gets a chance to do something besides be the butt of jokes.

Frank Fronte the person must be doing some great work off air to help produce this show. How else can you explain him being on the show, leaving for real, coming back and sticking around for so long?

This show is not really about wrestling, it happens to focus on wrestling. Its a free 2 hours of great entertainment week after week for guys living in Toronto, in their mid-30's, who like wrestling.

VIVA Tha-O-Show!

I'm curious about what oster "EC" just wrote...

What DOES Frank do OFF-Air for the show..?? In fact, I'm curious to learn what everyone's OFF AIR roles are...

Big Daddy Donnie said...

Not a bad suggestion Cush!

If for no other reason, it gives a reason to re-activate the Poll gimmick! Might as well!!

An O-Poll has been added to the sidebar of thaoshow.com

Vote it up Osters!!

I think blinking shirts might be the stupidest, most frivalous, yuppie-ass, suburban kid thing I've ever heard of.

Big Daddy Donnie said...

Fuck it, people want to see behind the curtain ... ok...

Keep in mind, Tha O Show is VERY MUCH an organic team. We help each other out and pick up the slack for each other when help is needed... But for the most part, off-air work breaks down like this:

Donnie - handles the majority of guest bookings, development of new segments / characters, as well as spearheading new business ventures and managing relationships with new strategic partners.

Dan - also a major driving force creatively. Writes the gimmick songs (that aren't freestyle OR HorseToothian in nature), co-produces all original music, themes, etc, handles the majority of the updates to the website and our YouTube channel, manages our online store, and more.

Voodoo Drew - Puts in many hours per week at the Sick-O Zone working on Tha O Show. Editing, producing and innovating. The show could NOT run smoothly without this crazy motherfucker.

Crystal Beth - has been working with us off-air as an assistant. She helps out when there is too much on any one person's plate. Follows up with guests, sends out emails to potential business partners and assists with the marketing end.

Royal Touch - As you can imagine, this self-promoting man whore is awesome when it comes to launching new business opportunities and making introductions to people in positions to help Tha O Show. He manages our music catalogue, liasons with Dan and Drew to have all the right shit to play each week and never shows up on time! You're the man Bolos!

Frank - Since returning to the show end of 2009, Frank acquired two sponsors for us early in 2010. Other than that, he always shows up on time to the show and is very helpful at helping us clean up the studio at the end of each session.

EC said...

Donnie, you didn't have to break kayfabe!

I try to stay away from "spoilers" and enjoy wrestling as it happens. (Hard to do with TNA and their cost-conscious taping schedule!)

Same with your great show. Does an listener really want to know what Big Daddy Donnie does from 9-5 to pay the bills? I don't. I want to hear him making up crap on the O-show!

Even if Frank is not on air anymore, I just don't think anyone cares enough to get really riled up.

You should have done this with Dan-e-o! Strong character, microphone savvy, people really MISS him when he goes on the annual gay-cation, could show up on "The Law" and chew out that mushmouth Lovranski... that would have had legs!

Um, do you have time to do the episode over this week? I swear I'll download it again!

Evitman said...

#1 reason to listen to the show for the next month is to hear Fatty fucking Fail in different ways to get over......Shit the man loved his gaycation so much he needs to be gone forever. Can this be like some companies that a person can't be rehired twice?

Dan-e-o said...

Blue Jay Ray,

I had it in mind to "O" for the Jays trades but got caught up in some of the other craziness that was going on.

I had a feeling guys like Patterson might be on his way out. I'm glad A.A. is working as if the Jays are still fighting for a playoff spot.

Didn't think Frasor or the other relievers were all up to snuff either, so I'm excited to see what the new look Jays will produce.

Thanks for your question. I hope to be at Sunday's game to be part of Roberto Alomar's celebration.

Jack Ryder said...

EC? ARE YOU SERIOUS BRO???

You can't just DO THIS with Dan-e-o because Dan-e-o isn't the one acting like a jabronie and this isn't a storyline. It's Tha O Show revealing real life to us... AND I LOVE IT.

I'm willing to give Frank a shot.

WOOO WOOO WOOO
Don't Blow It.

Blue Jay Ray said...

Fighting for a playoff spot? These trades aren't to get Jays in playoffs this year. This year is a write off. This is all about next year and the year after.

Dante said...

Man, Frank, you have to be careful with the whole being yourself shit. I don’t even like me. I barely like other people. Sometimes being yourself is harder than being a “character.” When you left there were many people just waiting to take your spot. Shit, I was on a few times and I loved it. I wish I was in a position to come in studio and be an ass for a couple hours and have a shitload of people hear me. If what happened this week was a sample of Regular Frank then I wish you the best in your future endeavors.

That Road Dogg interview was fun. I know he’s only been on a couple times but he’s cool. Carribana songs make me laugh every damn time. I want a blinking shirt. Those things look cool. Crystal Beth is a great addition to the show. Voodoo Drew always says something to make me crack up no matter how nasty it is.

Big Daddy Donnie said...

I like the trades the Jays made.

I disagree with Dan's evaluation of Jason Frasor and other relievers who were shipped out. They were all good players.

But the Jays traded a bunch of good players for a potential superstar.

The Jays have done that now for the 3rd time.

First with Escobar, then with Brett Lowrie and now with Rasmus.

All three were considered uncoachable attitude cases with 5 tool star potential. If ONE of those three turns into a perennial all-star, then AA has done his job well.

If more than one accomplish that loft goal, then AA is the new Pat Gillick, and he'll be on his way to one day having his own spot in Cooperstown.

Big Daddy Donnie said...

I like SF aquiring Beltran. When Buster Posey went down, they HAD to do something. He was a post-season hero for the Giants and the NL rookie of the year.

The Giants weeeeak offence gets bolstered by Beltran who is having an off year, but immediately becomes the Giants best hitter for average and power.

The Giants current HR leader is Aubrey Huff with 9.

NINE!!!!

Jose Bautista cranks 9 in a 4 game series guy.

Respect to SF on a huge move.

Cush said...

Now that I've finished listening to this weeks show I've got a few questions that were't addressed this week.

To me it seems like you guys are cutting down drastically on your wrestling related content. Is Tha O Show attempting to move in a different direction? From being a Wrestling/MMA oriented Male Talk Show to just a general Male Oriented Talk Show?

With Raw I wanted to know what Donny and Dan thought about HHH's first few Acts as 'The Boss'.

First Act is to make a match putting John Cena VS Rey Mysterio for later on in the night. This left us with Cena once again as WWE Champion. If this is the Beginning of a New Era shouldn't things change a little bit? Cena has been Champ FOREVER and is one of the reasons I stopped watching for several years.

Second, bringing back JR to the Announce Team. Donnie should have some view on this since at one time he absolutely despised JR. When the O Show first started Donny used to pick on him every week and Dan even had a Theme Song that he sang when Donny would go on these Anti JR rants.

Third... bringing back John Morrison to basically no crowd reaction whatsoever.

Doesn't seem like much has really changed here or is that just me?

Then the whole Rey Mysterio / John Cena / Alberto Del Rio / CM Punk situation. Only reason I started watching WWE Product again is because Punk sparked an interest in me with his Promo a few weeks ago on Raw and followed that up with an AWESOME Title Match at MITB. Not only why would you Hotshot this angle but why would you make this angle so confusing? That's just signs of poor booking...

Rey Mysterio gets Gypped by being a Transitional Champion on Raw for about 90 minutes. Not only does he have another incredibly short Title Run but he is also forced to wrestle twice in the same night.

Alberto Del Rio is the MITB winner so he has the ability to call a Title Match whenever he so chooses. So basically you should be able to start looking at the guy as a possible future Champion, right? If so, why have him cower from Rey Mysterio? Not only is Rey Mysterio practically a midget but you've already got him scripted to look like a Weak Champion this week anyways. If Del Rio is cowering from a guy that couldn't even keep the Title for more than a week why should anybody take his shot at the Title seriously?

So then you are left with John Cena and CM Punk. While a rematch between the two "could" have been a huge ratings draw again if the angle hadn't been hotshotted by having Punk return to Raw 8 days after claiming he was leaving for good with the Belt... they have practically just blown the only good angle that they had going for the past several years.

Big no to the stuff early on with frank. I've listened to this show long enough to know what could be a work and what could not. It's stupid, Frank has a role in the show and you guys should stop trying to make him a punching bag. He does that to himself, keep making him do his own songs and speaking in jamaican. That's the fun Frank, i hate this reinvention stuff. But you guys changed the roundtable music so it's probably too late anyway.

I love the show and we finally have an O team with no real flaws.

Christopher Casúr said...

I haven't listened to the whole show yet, so maybe it comes up later, but I'm surprised nobody said anything about the blown Jerry Meals call the other night. This one was an even bigger deal than the Jim Joyce call because it was the game deciding call in an extra-inning marathon between two teams fighting for playoff spots.

I say let Frank stay if he drinks wack juice. Or, since he wants to not be as much of a "character" anymore, Frank, just be more outspoken with your opinion. You started out on this site writing some really well thought out opinion pieces. If you're trying to increase your contributions to the show, being crickets for the entire first segment won't do anything.

Frank stop your bitchin' that your character is flat and going no where! Pull up your big boy pants and own the fact that all you do is laugh and get slapped around. If it was such a big deal before you should've manned up and dealt with it! Not be a pussy and hand in your resignation! Which by the way I'm quite impressed how well it was written. Suck it up, use this lesson as a stepping stone... Show the o-ster's what you got... If in 30 days you crash and burn... Leave your balls in Crystal Beth's, Katy perry purse... I'm sure she'll make better use of them!
Crystal Beth, great show as always!

The show has been consistently funnier in the last year or so. Why? Because Frank's embraced the role of the stooge. When he was gone, Donny and Daneo just argued and abused each other. It wasn't near as fun without Fatty in the "stooge heel" role.

Don't worry Frank - We all know that radio, like wrestling, is semi-shoot. Telling the audience you're not really fat, is like telling a little kid that wrestling is fake. Fuck you Fatty, you're still fat to me!

Having said that, I'm sure it's lonely playing the clown. Imagine when Frank meets a young lady (yes, I'm sure it happens from time to time). He's either got to hide the show from her, or cop to it and let her hear him being abused and immasculated. It's one thing to play the stooge on WWE television, where you get famous and paid, and therefore laid. But Frank isn't getting rich and he isn't getting famous. And since he goes by his real name, a simple google search reveals all.

So let's just appreciate the fat fuck for the sex-life sacrifice he's made for our entertainment. It's therapeutic to hate on Frank, so stick around buddy, we abuse you because we like you, and because we can't afford legit therapy.

Oh, and Edgar Allen "O" is going to write even nastier poems about you if you leave.

My buddy, dressed up like the hulkster, i dressed up as Macho Man (fucked up how he died a week later legit). I was doin the macho gimmick ALL DAY. talking to everyone in Macho's voice and shit. Some of the wrestlers i would run into were getting a kick out of it! RJ city was dying! Then, THIS JACKASS fuckin frank, acts like he's this big shot motha fucka and gives me this "who in the the hell is this peasant coming up to me" look. Frank you FUCK!! You AINT SHIT! Have a sense of humor! I wa stryin to have som fun by doin some macho and you think that just because you were just the RING ANNOUNCER, you fabe me! At least crack a smile or play up on it! Fuck you frank!! Just leave and never come back!!

Look, ive heard every single episode of this show, and Donnie and Dan did like ... 125 - 150 eposodes without Frank, and despite what some NEWER listeners might think, the shows never lacked a thing. Not clowning Frank left Donnie an Dan to clown each other which i found WAY more entertaining because they are both ultra quick on their feet and get some good verbal tennis going.

Plus while Frank was gone, they introduced the "guest third person" every week.

Ill take visits from Asylum, Burns, Jen Blake, Rico or even Hayden Avery before Frank.

Not to mention, when Frank left thats when the Black Prophet was born.

Someone commented on the round table theme being changed. Thats the OLD theme from the days when Frank wasnt on the show. It wasnt new.

Bottom line - i like the way Frank has been utilized on Tha O Show. I think he has some decent opinions, but i wouldnt want to hear a show with nothing but Frank.

If Frank quit or was fired, i dont think the show would miss a step ----- theyve proven it before.

Heres the problem i see. Frank isnt a naturally funny guy. Usually we laugh at his idiocy.

The stuff he does that IS funny is written for him like the songs Dan-e-o wrote.

He wants to contribute more opinions?

Heres the problem i see with that Frank.

Donnie has a lengthy resume in the wrestling world. Dan has a ton of experience in that genre as well, and often times relates wrestling back to his true field - the music biz.

What qualifies you as an expert whos opinion is valid to us?

Other than a couple cwi shows you ring announced for, you arent IN the business.

Youre like the other 5 million wrestling shows online that are hosted by marks who dont know anything.

Reading the Observer and being around well-connected people does not mean you are well-connected and in the know.

I live about 2 hrs outside Toronto and id KILL for the chance to take Franks job.

All these jabrones who want Frank's job don't really understand what the job entails - getting abused. Christopher Casur and Dante were largely forgettable in their appearances because the show has enough guys with opinions - Somebody needs to play the fool.

That being said, Donnie rides Frank just a little too aggressively sometimes and occassionally comes off as a bully. For me, when it gets too cruel, it becomes less entertaining and just mean-spirited.

Frank completely took Meltzer's comments out of context. I listened to that episode of Wrestling Observer Radio and what he was saying was that Sin Cara probably didn't completely understand company protocol regarding drug policy in American media. However, he is by no means a Sin Cara fan or sympatizer. Alvarez and Meltzer have buried the majority of his matches. They have never ever said that he deserves to be treated better or treated like a star. As always, Frank is just an idiot. Like Dave or not (I do, personally), he should not be judged on misquoted Frankisms that he makes up when is being called to defend an argument...and can't.

Well "SHOCKED" is the word for it.... I love the show and everyone on it, through every iteration from episode 1 on-wards.

But this episode... sorry guys but gotta say worst show ever... I can normally get past poor segments and enjoy the rest of the show, but not this time.

For the first time I sat here in disbelief and disappointment listening to Donnie and Fatty go at it, and then spent the rest of the show waiting for the next Donnie/Fatty spat to kick off. And was even more disappointed when it happened.

Fatty I can see what your saying, you don't feel that you are contributing to the show enough, you feel that your only role is to be the fat, queer punchbag that everyone beats on. Well thats because thats who you ARE and all-ways have been. If you want to be different then get the hell out of the studio and go be it somewhere else.

You're right man. Black Prophet is on every few weeks for 2 min and he IS a star.

Here's the other thing -- while Dan-e-o and Donnie run the show AND this site, I'm reminded of a time when Frank used to write regularly for this site - Plunkett mentioned it.

Frank hasn't written anything for the site since his first run with the show. Its been years. Why not?

Has Frank ever tried to develop things like "basic frontonomics" or "his hit songs" or ... Anything? He's been handed more money gimmicks than anyone else on the show, and he does the least with the most.

Let's be honest osters. It could be Donnie doing those goofy songs like he's done Horse Tooth shit before. They write that shit FOR Frank to create MORE for him.

I am reminded of a Simpsons episode when baby Ned Flanders was a jerk and his beatnik parents said "we've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas".

I'm really sorry to hear about your run in with those five idiots. It does, however, piss me off when people (often based on media hype) associate blackness with violence as if one is an automatic attribute of the other.

People weren't killed at the parade. One person was. By a cop. That's not to say he wouldn't have killed someone. But ONE fuckin' moron doesn't mean that the "Christmas of Summer" wasn't an otherwise fantastic and joyous event.

I hope you don't really believe that moving out of Toronto will free you from any potential violence. It happens everywhere.

I appreciate your concern and am happy to tell you that Royal Touch and I and all of our loved ones are doing just fine. I hope you are as well.
