Am I the only one who thinks that this CM Punk thing is one of Vince's crazy-ass ideas where he will build up RoH as a worthy competitor to keep his company on it toes? (Obviously TNA will NEEEEEEVER be a threat to WWE and is a distant number 2 by default.)
How's this for a hope-piction:
In Chicago they have CM Punk shock the world by beating Cena with covert help from Colt Cabana. Cabana is shown at ringside and Punk embraces him before the match. The finish of the match is that Cabana slips Punk a packet of salt while Punk and Cena brawl outside the ring. Punk throws salt in Cena's face but can't be disqualified because it's anything goes outside the ring. Punk brutalizes Cena and then rolls him in the ring for two Go To Sleeps (Superman Cena has to kick out of the first one) for the pinfall. Then Cabana comes in the ring and they place the title in a WWE shopping bag. WWE wrestlers come down so Cabana bolts through the crowd. But, when Cabana is caught, it is revealed that a replica belt in is the bag. (When Cabana jumps the rail, he throws the bag over first and his confederate Claudio Castingnoli switches bags and walks out with the title.)
Then on RAW Punk and Cabana show up with the title and say that he got a court order to return the title. So he comes to the ring at the end of the show and cuts a promo saying that his court order said that he had to bring the title to RAW, but he doesn't think that anyone in the back has the guts to take it from him. This brings down some top baby face(s) (HHH, Cena, Orton) to take the title by force. This sets up the Kings of Wrestling, Haas and Benjamin, and what ever other big guns RoH has to offer jumping the barrier and going Nexus on the baby faces buttocks and covering one of them with an RoH banner.
This leads to an invasion angle (which RoH has done in the past really well) to get a buzz for the WWE and raise the interest level for RoH.
Now, I know that a lot of this doesn't quite make sense (Punk is not signed to RoH, WWE probably would not want people not under contract to physically abuse their top draws, etc) but it is a hope-piction, not a prediction.
