Helms was riding his bike with his girlfried Karen at the time of the accident. Details as to how the accident occured are still sparse.
We do know that Helms and his lady were airlifted to hospital and both sustained major injuries. Helms suffered a broken leg, broken ankle, and broken nose. His jaw seems to have been dislocated and he has received over 200 stitches.
Karen suffered a broken neck.
