Tha Raw Report: Long Awaited Return

It's been so long, we'd almost forgotten. It's ok now though, he's back. That's right ladies and gentlemen DJB is back and here to stay. That may get the biggest heel reaction of the night. Yeah Bret Hart made a comeback too, and the other guys had a pretty big night as well. All in all this should be a really good week to be a wrestling fan right? Sure.

Don't know who on here Tweets or Twitters with themselves but if you follow wrestling personalities, or wrestlers on Twitter alot has been said about TNA tonight, but I aint here to talk TNA, I'm here to talk WWE Raw.

You put an S in front of Hit Man and you've got my exact opinion of Bret Hart.

Actually I'm sort of here to talk TNA. Looking at commercials and hype for the show, TNA had the advantage coming out of the gate. The E had Bret "The Hitman" Hart appearing for the first time in 12 years. TNA had Hulk Hogan's arrival. You tell me who carries more weight.

WWE had the same matches. TNA had a night chock full of surprises. You tell me who has the upper hand. The E had John Cena as honorary pink tie guy at the Tostito's Fiesta Bowl. That was a great idea, it got the E and Cena some pub at a big time football game that a lot of people are watching.

I mentioned twitter a few paragraphs ago, and whether you tweet or not there is no denying that twitter is a major networking site. Trending topics are the most talked about things at that point. TNA was the #1 trending topic tonight, ahead of TCU (participant along with Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl) and Fiesta bowl. WWE has wet dreams of things like that.

WWE right out of the gate hit and hit hard. Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels staring one another down in the ring. A handshake and a hug. It was a big deal. The only problem is, it was time to turn the channel back to TNA to see who else was arriving after Hardy and Flair had already made an iMPACT.

MVP, Mark Henry, Jack Thwagger and Carlito competed in a fatal four way to determine who would face WWE United States Champion the Miz for the belt down the road. That's great, but in some combination, minus Evan Bourne and Chris Masters haven't these guys been involved over the last 445 shows?

MVP picks up the win and he will face the Miz for a belt he's already held, with which he broke the record for time with the belt in the WWE. That will no doubt be a solid match, but as has happened over the last few years the E will screw it up most likely. If not that they'll run it into the ground.

I will admit that I have enjoyed my time off from watching "Raw" while working 3rd shift, but I've sort of kept up with it. It hasn't even been on my DVR. I do however remember before I stopped Jeri-Show and DX were going at it. Tonight they were going at it for Jericho's spot on the "Raw" roster. Bad thing is I've read they already had that match. Santa changed that.

I refuse to address the whole mascot midget of DX issue. I will however address the fact that there are too many good tag teams or potential tag teams out there for this to be the main fued for the tag belts. WWE has shit the bed on more tag teams than a nursing home patient with no depends and a dose of Milk of Magnesia.

The WWE Champion Shame-on-us squashes Evan Bourne. Really? That was pointless. The Rumble is now a week closer and nothing building towards it. I know the Rumble is a throw away when it comes to fueds usually, but damn.

Rest in Peace Dr. Death Steve Williams. My sincerest thoughts and prayers go out to his family, because losing someone is never easy, and losing someone to cancer is incredibly scary to go through.

Last time I saw Orton and Kingston, Kingston lost his accent, dented and painted up the Kyle Busch, Joey Lagano car wrapped with Orton. I've also heard and read that this isn't their first match against one another. I appreciate trying to elevate Kofi, but elevate him. The matches may be good, but losing over and over is still losing.

The big payoff of the night, Vince and Bret. I've lost nine straight hands of poker and had a better payoff at the end of the night. Vince suggests putting Stu Hart in the Hall of Fame. That's nice. How about Owen you bunch of dumbasses? Back me up Donnie, Owen needs to be there...three years ago.

So the grand finale, the last hurrah, possibly the last time we'll ever see Bret Hart in the ring he gets kicked by Vince and hits the ground. Vince exits and Bret lays on his back and then gets to his feet as the show goes off. Did anyone see TNA's ending? That's a cliff-hanger.

TNA upped the ante tonight. They are the better company right now. The Monday Night Wars aren't back. Yet. With TNA doing what it just did all the WWE has to change is everything. It was just one night, but one huge night carried WCW for 80 weeks. They weren't the best show every week. WWE may be in deep shit. I for one, will not miss another TNA.

By the way, DJB has found it again. He enjoyed wrestling tonight, and he did forsake his beloved football for it. Be this good every week TNA, and WWE do what you can. It just got good again.

U goddamn right WWE should induct Owen Hart. It's the least could do.

Is getting into the Hall of Fame really all that important? I don’t think it is anymore. Plus look at how he died. If they haven’t done it now they wont do it anytime soon. Or at least until Linda is elected or not. I was just recently watching Bret’s return after Owen died from WCW. As soon as Bret is done with this WWE stint he’ll be back to bitching and complaining. And this is coming from a huge Bret fan!

I am waiting for another future endeavors pool so I can add Bourne, Jesse (or whatever the hell they are calling him now), and Charlie Haas. Bourne went from being one of the most exciting guys to losing consistently for no reason. Kofi’s push had to end sooner than later. Why? No reason.

DX and Jeri-Show having a feud brings some attention to those neglected ass belts. I heard that The Briscoe Brothers were being looked at by WWE. As much as I like those guys there isn’t a team in WWE that could hang with them. Plus every single move they do would be banned. I’m happy for any attention those belts get.

Welcome back, DJB.

No getting in the Hall of Fame s not that important BUT it's WWE's minimal show of respect for wrestlers.

Did anyone notice they gave condolences to Dr.Death but never said a word about Umaga. WTF

Thanks for the warm welcome back Dante. Missed you my incredibly violent brother. I agree with David, the Hall of Fame doesn't matter, but to those who aren't huge on history and watch now for the product it is the E's way of showing respect, and a way of drawing attention to the past generation, and in this case one of the best from any generation. A best of Owen DVD may not be the highest selling DVD they ever make, but it'd be one of the best, no matter what they put on it.

David, I think the reason they didn't mention Umaga was due to his departure from the company. It isn't right, but then again it is WWE style. I'm not even sure they mentioned Andrew "Test" Martin when he passed. The WWE is very...odd when it comes down to things like this.

O-sters out there, Matt came through last time with a great picture of Dan Sharpton (the blend of Dan-e-o and the Sharpton hair) what I'm wanting now is Bret Hart in full gear with Donnie's face and his trademark hat...with the glasses if possible. Make it happen, and this too becomes the main picture for "Raw" NEXT WEEK.

With the National Championship game on the horizon, I'm naturally an SEC homer, and a longtime Alabama sympathizer, so...ROLL TIDE!

Fuck 'Bama. I'm O-fficially declaring the Boise State Broncos national champions. If you can find a way to objectively prove to me (i.e. none of this "Oh they play in a more respected conference" or "They have tougher schedules" shit) that Texas or Alabama are better than Boise State (or even TCU, for that matter), I'll cede the point. But you can't do it.

Yo, star....An Owen Hart DVD just after or before his induction. That would be awesome and should happen. I understan Brett being inducted first cuz he was the bigger star. If Stu is going in then Owen should be going in along side his pops. I'm just sayin'....

I know how they do with the death thing, especially after the Benoit fiasco.

BTW- Go Alabama!

D.J.B. said...

Other than Kennedy...Kennedy, er, Anderson...Anderson I was surprised Benoit didn't show up on TNA last night.

I said last night Boise should be allowed to be title Co-National Champions. TCU shit the bed in their national television and BCS debut and it still took trickery for Boise to beat them, but that's football.

Boise would give Texas fits and probably beat them. Boise would give Alabama fits, but I doubt they'd beat them.

Alabama's defensive front 7 will all play in the NFL. Have you seen Mt. Cody? Eyeball test alone screams Bama. Overall speed says Bama. Player potential says Bama. Heisman Trophy says Bama. If you put the game on the smurf turf in the cold I say Bama loses 2 of 3. That's the only way though. Bama beats Boise.

Next year Boise will come in ranked top 5 and have tougher out of conference opponents so the computers respect them and if they can go 13-0 again they WILL be in the National Championship. '10 is the year of Boise if they can keep their momentum, and they return all but 1 starter.

i forgot about Kennedy. So what Kennedy,RVD, Sid and who else will debut in TNA next?

I woulda loved to see Booker T on RAW last night! WTF is Tyson gonna do next week?

D.J.B. said...

Bro as long as Tyson doesn't bite anyones ear off, eat someones children, or punch someone out to the tune of Phil Collins' Coming in the Air Tonight, it won't be an epic fail.

I have a feeling he'll knock the hell out of someone though. I vote Thwagger or Shame-on-us.

RVD has been reportedly "in talks" with TNA for quite some time, so I'm wondering what the hold up is, Sid has been rumored to be going for 26 years and Kennedy is a sign on the line away.

I wonder who TNA will work in as the masked figure.

How the hell did Tha Raw Report go to BCS and TNA? Oh well, as long as it's generating replies.
