The Ultimate Fighter Finale Recap

* Matt Mitrione v. Marcus Jones

Jones immediately rushes Mitrione and gets a takedown 12 seconds in. Jones has side control within 30 seconds but Mitrione manages to get back to one knee and stand up at the one minute mark. Jones hits him with a couple of lefts and Mitrione clinches. The two break apart.

Mitrione knees him in the face at the 90 second mark but Jones survives and pushes him into the fence. He leans on him for a while and they seperate again with 2:20 left. Jones cinches the arm-in guillotine and takes Meathead to the ground. Mazzagatti checks to see if he's going out or not.

Meathead gets out, Jones goes for an armbar, Meathead gets out of that too. 90 seconds left in R1. Jones gets hammered with 30 seconds left and they both start swinging wildly, and Jones takes him down to survive until the horn. They both look gassed.

MITRIONE KNOCKS OUT JONES SECONDS INTO R2. On the replay we see Jones walking into a big right hand.

* Matt Veach v. Frankie 'The Answer' Edgar

Nothing much in the first 40 seconds. Veach is outwrestling him but not doing much else and it's a slow fight for the first three minutes. In the last minute Veach starts looking tired and he eats a few shots. Veach may be gassing out from working so hard in the first round. Being bigger and more muscular doesn't necessarily lend to an advantage in this fight. Tale of two fights in this round - you could go 10-9 either way.

Edgar knocks him to the ground and EDGAR WINS VIA SUBMISSION RNC IN R2. The official time is 2:22 of the second round. Edgar is now 11-1. Rogan interviews him afterwards and says he "moved smartly" before he caught him with a huge right hand counter. Edgar thanks his team, "the witch doctor" and everybody in his corner.

HULK HOGAN IS ON UFC. HOGAN SAYS TNA IMPACT IS MOVING TO MONDAY NIGHTS.

TNADixie - Hogan to debut Jan 4 in a live 3 hr iMPACT! special up against Raw. How's that for a 1st shot? Spread the word. PLS RT.

* Mark Bocek v. Joe Brammer

Bocek WINS VIA STANDING RNC 3 MINUTES INTO R1. Pretty much a one-sided fight. Bocek took him to the ground, took his back, rode him when he stood up, and waited until he could get a trapped arm free to finish the submission.

* Houston 'The Assassin' Alexander v. Kevin 'Kimbo Slice' Ferguson

Alexander dances around for the first 20 seconds. Even Joe Rogan takes note of Alexander being light on his feet. 45 seconds later Houston is still dancing and Kimbo is just waiting for him to engage. The crowd is gonna turn on this at any second. Houston throws one leg kick every 30 seconds. Kimbo won't chase him and Houston won't engage him. Two minutes gone by with nothing except some leg kicks from Houston. Kimbo finally engages at 2:55 and Houston nearly catches him with a jumping knee. Kimbo swings for the fences and Houston ducks under. They break apart and Houston goes back to the inside leg kick. R1 ends with Houston ahead 10-9.

After another two minutes of nothing going on Kimbo gets a takedown into full minute, but Houston pops right back up. Houston falls down on a leg kick and Kimbo pounces. Kimbo picks him up and throws him inside out into a piledriver at the three minute mark, but somehow Houston survives! Kimbo gets the full mount again with 1:40 left. Kimbo has him down in the position to get a rear naked choke but can't do anything with it. Houston is just trying to hang on and survive. He gives up his back with 25 seconds left. He pops back up with 15 seconds left but Kimbo gets one more takedown right as the horn sounds. Kimbo 10-9.

Houston and Kimbo go toe to toe for the first couple of minutes. Houston looks really flat footed - all boxing technique and dancing on the feet gone. Kimbo is connecting, Houston is langing good counter shots. HOUSTON KICKS THE LEG OUT OF HIS LEG AND KIMBO GOES DOWN. Houston doesn't pounce! If he had the fight might be over. Kimbo recovers and even manages to get Houston on the ground, but nothing happens there so Rosenthal stands them up. Kimbo is now moving very tentatively on the leg. Rosenthal calls for more work. Houston sends Kimbo reeling backwards with a punch in the last ten seconds. I'm calling this 10-9 for Houston but it's going to the judges.

Our first fight of the live show goes to the scorecards. BRUCE BUFFER - AFTER 3 ROUNDS WE GET A DECISION OF 29-28, 29-28, AND 30-27 FOR THE WINNER BY UNANIMOUS DECISION: KIMBO SLICE! What fucking judge scored that 30-27 for Kimbo? Was that Cecil Peoples? THAT IS A BUNCH OF FUCKING BULLSHIT.

* Matt Hamill v. Jon Jones

Jones takes Hamill down halfway through the round and unloads VICIOUS ground and pound with fists and elbows from the full mount. Mazzagatti hasn't made a move to stop it yet but Hamill's face is quickly getting bloodied up and he's in survival mode. Hamill is getting sliced up with elbows. ONE POINT? Jones gets docked for something, I'm not sure what. Hamill can't even get up from the g'n'p. His eyes are full of blood, his nose is smashed, and the judge waves it off. JON JONES WINS VIA TKO. Apparently Jones hit an illegal elbow but it's all over either way. Apparently the deduction was on a bionic elbow dropped right to the head.

NO?! HAMILL WINS VIA DISQUALIFICATION!

* James McSweeney v. Darrill Schoonover

For the first minute of this fight we don't even see anything because they're frozen on the title card of the match. This has to be one of the most fucked up nights of free UFC that I've ever seen. Bad judging, bad officiating, bad decisions, bad broadcasting, it's just an epic clusterfuck from beginning to end. Both guys look gassed at the end of R1.

McSweeney wins with a jumping knee and hands of doom. Schoonover is being looked over as we lose the audio and before we can get the official decision.

* Big Country v. Brendan Schaub

Nelson comes out to "Fat" by Weird Al Yankovic. Roy Nelson clips him with a right behind the ear and IT IS ALL OVER. Roy wins at 3:45 of R1. Dana White comes out to present him with the trophy and the six figure contract. Joe Rogan: "You're a fat guy who can fight his ass off." Yes he is! That's it for Ultimate Fighter tonight.
