Tha iMPACT! Playback

It’s been a busy week in TNA. Saturday at the UFC fights, the Hulkster announces iMPACT! is going Live on Monday night January 4, 2010 with a 3 hour special. Big Move. Even if it is for one week. Speaking of Hogan. I had the pleasure of meeting the Hulk on Wednesday at his book signing in Toronto.

I told the Hulkster and Jimmy Hart what I do. That I’m a Mix Engineer and Producer and I’ve worked with numerous great artists from Nelly to Redman and Method Man to Wu-Tang Clan to Mary J. Blige to Tupac to EPMD to The Notorious B.I.G. to Rockwilder to Glenn Lewis and so on. (I could go on ) Of course, I gotta add Dan-e-o to the list of greats!

The point of telling Hogan this was that I been looking for him since Brooke did that stint with Scott Storch when “Hogan Knows Best” first jumped off. I told the Hulkster that I’d like to produce a hit record for Brooke. I gave Hogan a copy of one of my latest releases: Redman & Method Man – Blackout! 2 which I grabbed at the HMV on my way down there. I did the math with Jimmy Hart and I was out.

Perhaps nothing will come of it but I been thinking about it for a few years and trying to find a way to contact the big homie. I’ve told some of the rappers I work with about this idea and they joke. All Brooke needs is the right songs and production, with some big hits. And she’s gone.

Whether you like her or not or think she can sing or not. It doesn’t matter, Hulk Hogan is a huge name around the world and that carries weight for Brooke in record sales if it’s done right. Hulkster! Jimmy Hart! Holler at the kid!

On to tha Playback...

Kevin Nash sets the tone tonight. This is the begining of the take over! Coming off of my high of meeting The Immortal Hulk Hogan Wednesday, I was delighted to turn on iMPACT! and watch Hogan’s bud Kevin Nash giving us the line up for tonight. Nash booked the show for tonight. Awesome! I won’t give you the line up like he did but rather break it down as per usual.

Video Package of Foley hunting for Dixie. Foley’s on a mission tonight. What’s he afraid of? Losing his stroke and power?

The bigger TNA got, the bigger fish have jumped in the pool to run the show. Now, with Team Hogan on the horizon and the fact that we have Eric Bischoff lurking in the shadows. This still could go either way. It could be really good for TNA or really bad in the end.

I find it hard to believe Hogan’s a mole set to destroy TNA for Vince McMahon. So, dead that BS conspiracy. Dude needs money, bottom line. He’s doing what he does best and knows. Wrestling. Whether he gets in the ring or not the name brings mainstream attention.

First match of the night is a handicapped match.

The British Invasion (including Big Rob) vs. MCMG’s Chris Sabin

Gotta love it, Nash bans Alex Shelly from ringside! The BI pick apart Sabin, until Chris makes the Brits look silly by outsmarting them. And these guys are the Tag Champions????

Steiner in the back. Scotty kills me. Yes! The Big Bad Booty Daddy....got handed a match against Lashley and Krystal tonight with his choice of KnockOut’s as his partner.

Scott says the MEM is not dead. Hmmmm……If the band is getting back together and WWE owns the rights to the NWO logo. Hogan is the biggest name in pro wrestling and he definitely qualifies to be a member of the MEM.

Also since Angle’s “face” turn or more like a Steve Austin turn, MEM does need a new leader and who better than the Hulkster? Damn, I shoulda asked Hulk on Wednesday.

Bobby Lashley & Krystal vs Scott Steiner & Awesome Kong

Scotty picks Kong! Classic. It was all Lashley from the beginning. Then Kong kicks Steiner by accident. Steiner turns the tables by throwing Bobby into the steel stairs. Kong corners Krystal and goes for the bomb off the top but Steiner pins Krystal with Lashley out on the outside. Scott kills me when he does push ups over Krystal while she laid on her back.

Samoa Joe’s thrown his hat in the Feast or Fired at Final Resolution. Beer Money tries to warn him. Maybe they're scared of getting fired. I doubt Joe gets fired. After what Roode said tho’, could Storm be the guy who may get the big F???

Thank you Kevin Nash! Nash measures the mud for tonight’s mud wrestling match! It’s Lacie Von Erich vs. Velvet Sky in mud wrestling! BP in the back bitchin’...Nash explains that the match is about ratings. He’s right, I know I’m not changing the channel when the Beautiful People are fighting in mud.

Guess who the special ref is? Madison Rayne! It’s an all BP mud wrestling match tonight! Thank you Nash! Beautiful People, I love you!

Hilarious! Nash has Tara & ODB in a match that has them downing a six pack of beer before the match.

Eric Young looked shook for a minute earlier in the show when Nash said he was defending his title tonight. Eric’s facing Hamada?

Hamada vs. Eric Young

This is for the Global Championship which in my mind is still the Legend’s Championship. Young takes Hamada lightly. Hamada brings it to Eric. She even bodyslams Young. EY barely keeps his belt by putting his feet on the ropes and making the pin.

Ah...I wanna see the Beautiful People in Playboy ASAP!

Mick Foley is still out looking for Jarrett. Mick actually finds Jarrett as the video package Mick brought to share tonight continues….Of course he found him.

I didn’t think ODS (Ol' Dirty Skank) would have a problem downing a six pack before a match that’s for sure.

Trailer Park Throw Down – Tara vs. ODB

Weapons are allowed in this one. Shot of the night is when ODS hits Tara in the cootchie with a toilet plunger. ODS hits Tara off a step ladder. WTF. The ladies look a lil' tipsy for real. ODS gets the pin when she hits Tara face first into a steel chair. As ODS said before the match, it’s a Business As Usual Match for her 'cuz she always drinks a six pack before a match. Can you say "White Trash"?

Foley is sitting down and talking to Jarrett trying to convince ol’ Double J to come to the iMPACT! Zone as the video continues. Okay, what’s gonna happen here? A Foley-Jarrett alliance against the Hogan Machine?

Team 3D, Jesse Neil & Rhyno vs. Suicide, Hernandez & Matt Morgan

Whoever gets pinned has to start the match at Final Resolution for the first five minutes.

I agree with Taz for once, maybe for twice. “Jesse and that crazy Mohawk” Team 3D and co. took out The Pope before the match making this a handicap affair. Suicide was getting his ass handed to him till Super Mex got in and cleaned house.

Hernandez looked like he had this 'till he gets speared by Jesse and pinned. WTF?! Hernandez will start it off at FR for the first five minutes. Big whoppedi woo.....

Pope storms the ring post match bandaged up but who cares? Not I.

Video Package of Tomko working out, does anyone care that he is back???

Mud Wrestling Match - Velvet Sky vs. Lacie Von Erich with Special Guest Referee Madison Rayne

This is my match of the night for sho’. Call me a pig, I don’t care. This is my BP dream match. Stop teasing me and kiss already ladies! “Six Sides of Plastic”

Velvet gets the win, but it doesn’t matter. This was the hottest Knockouts match of the year. I was speechless. The BP in mud. I love it! Once again thank you Kevin Nash!

More on Foley talking with Jarrett. Mick gives the speech and I think we have a newfound alliance. See.

AJ Styles vs. The Highest Bidder

So who’s the highest bidder for a shot at the title? AJ is fighting none other than.....

Desmond Wolfe. Shock and awe, I never saw that coming. Angle makes his way to the broadcast table at the start of the match and says the bidding was crazy.

It was a pretty even match off the jump 'till Wolfe turned the tide for a bit. Wolfe tries some dirty tricks but gets stopped by Daniels. Styles gets the pin. It wasn’t the best main event. Wolfe confronts Daniels after the match and they go at it.

Desmond is making plenty of enemies since his debut in the iMPACT! Zone.

Foley and Jarrett Conclusion

Mick convinces Jeff to go to the iMPACT! Zone to talk to Dixie. In the end, Jarrett’s coming to the iMPACT! Zone just like I thought. For what Jeff? To cry and bitch some more?

iMPACT! Was definitely better than last week, ten fold . Especially with Nash calling the shots. If this is a sign of things to come, then I like it. Full of surprises. I personally thanked The Hulkster for bringing it to TNA on Wednesday.

Can’t wait for January. It's On Brother!

Tha Results:

Alex Shelly def. British Invasion (including big Rob Terry)
Scott Steiner & Awesome Kong def. Bobby Lashley & Krystal
Eric Young def. Hamada
ODB def. Tara
Team 3D, Rhyno & Jesse Neil def. Suicide, Matt Morgan, The Pope & Hernandez
Velvet Sky def. Lacie Von Erich
AJ Styles def. Desmond Wolfe
