Live from Irving, California it’s Bound For Glory! It was pure non-stop action tonight in TNA’s premiere annual pay-per view. Mostly title matches tonight and that’s exactly how the PPV kicked off with the TNA X Division Championship Match.
X Division Championship: Amazing Red vs. Homicide, Suicide vs The Pope vs. The Motor City Machine Guns.
This was one hell of an action packed match. It looked like a brawl. The highlight of the match was when the wrestler’s started to take to the steel structure holding the X Division strap, climbing up and on top of them. Suicide and Daniels went to the top and tried to get the belt by going on the top of the steel structure and down to get the belt and ended up falling to the mat.
The MCMG’s go up for the belt on the top of the structure and down as well but fail, followed by Amazing Red who is successful and retains his X-Division Championship. This was a great match to start the PPV.
Beautiful People Interview, Can you say Pretty In Pink, man were they ever.
TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship: Taylor Wylde & Serita vs. The Beautiful People
I loved the BP entrance, especially when the three of them touched tongues while bent over. Lacie kisses the ref and tries to sway him till Hebner comes out, she tries the same thing with him but he ejects her from ringside. The champs dominated through out the match and the BP gave it a good shot but Taylor & Serita were too much and get the win.
Legend’s Championship Match: Kevin Nash vs Eric Young vs Hernandez.
Before the match Young says the World Elite is the best wrestling group ever. ??? This is basically a handicap match from the start. Nash and Young two on one Hernandez. Nash is fighting with a broken hand and still gives a good show. Hernandez gives us plenty high flying moves taking down the big Nash. Near the end of the match Eric pulls down Nash’s straps. Odd. Nash goes for the Jack Knife Power Bomb, while setting up Hernandez Young pulls a fast one and uses Hernandez’ head to knock down Nash and Young pins Nash while Hernandez is layed out and screws Big Sexy and the MEM in the process.
TNA & IWGP Tag Team Championship Match in a Full Metal Mayhem: MEM Members Booker T & Scott Steiner vs Beer Money vs Team 3D vs British Invasion.
I love Booker and Steiner as a tag team, they have so much history teaming with their brothers plus their own past feuding for the WCW strap near the end of WCW.
This match starts off looking like a Battle Royal. All the teams start fighting outside the ring and the British Invasion tries to pull a Eric Young by getting on the ladder’s and going for the belts while the others fight. Team 3D is taken out near the crowd and KO’d.
Back in the ring Booker T super kicks both Beer Money members taking them out. Steiner chokes out Devon while Booker does the Spinarooni. Then fails at an attempt to get a belt on a way too short ladder.
Steiner comes in and cleans house executing at least 6 belly to belly suplex’ to Magnus and Williams. Some how and no one seemed to see it but Booker T gets hurt outside the ring and is screaming in pain till he gets taken out on a stretcher. The BI double team Steiner but Team 3D comes in and mounts a comeback, swingin chairs knocking mo fo’s out.
Tables chant ensues. Stereo chokeslam to Beer Money by Team 3D but Big Poppa Pump takes them out with a conchairto of sorts.
Then Steiner grabs a ladder and uses it as a weapon. Big Poppa is on fire in this match!
He goes to the top of the ladder after a belt but Team 3D catches him at the top and tosses Steiner off and through a table. Awesome!
Team 3D goes up the ladder together after the belts, looks like their gonna win.
Out comes Rhyno and blindsides them both taking them out but not before Brother Devon captures the IWGP Tag Team belt. New IWGP Tag Team Champions Team 3D!
The match doesn’t stop here folks, Magnus goes up the ladder for the TNA strap but Beer Money follows and executes a double suplex to Magnus. Storm takes a sip of beer, they do their Beer Money routine but Big Rob runs in on Roode and Storm taking them out. Magnus goes up the ladder with Big Rob protecting him the whole way and he gets the TNA Tag Team strap. New TNA Tag Team Champions The British Invasion!
Triple Threat for The TNA Knockout’s Championship: ODB vs. Awesome Kong vs Tara.
Why does Tara’s spider get an introduction? This is the fourth championship match in a row.
ODB has some nice puppies. Kong dominates off the top of the match. Stereo nip ups Taz says when Tara and ODB do a double jump up.Tara and ODB double team Kong . OBD gets bizarre Taz says and he’s right she is a bit odd. Strange thing is she reminds me of some chics I know in Scarborough.
Something happens to Tara outside the ring and security takes her to the back with Kong and ODB watching oddly from the ring. It looked like a woman from the crowd attacked her. Kong and ODB resume the match and go at it. ODB slams Awesome Kong!
Tara comes back to the match and Kong splashes ODB off the top rope and goes for the pin. Tara makes the save. Then Kong misses the cover again. Saeed comes down the ramp and tries to give Kong a chair but she doesn’t want it. The chair remains on the ring and ODB hits Kong in a DDT straight onto the chair. ODB goes for the cover and gets the pin to retain her Knockout’s Championship!
Awesome Kong is pissed after the match and looks like she wants to kill Saeed.
Blueprint Matt Morgan Interview, Morgan says he is smart and has a college education. The guys big and all that but I disagree that he is the future of wrestling. And if he is I’m a lil worried.
Samoa Joe vs Bobby Lashley in a Submission Match.
Lashley comes out with his ribs still taped up. Samoa Joe and Lashley go toe to toe from the beginning then Joe breaks to the floor. Earl gets kicked to the head when the men get back at it in the ring.
Lashley goes to the floor and Joe chases him till he executes a suicide dive onto Bobby. There is a Joe chant, Joe strikes non stop on Lashley back in the ring. Abdominal stretch applied to Bobby by Joe but Lashley hip tosses Samoa Joe. Joe comes back with a jujitsu hold on Lashley but Bobby breaks it on th ropes. Full nelson slam to Bobby by Samoa Joe, then Joe hits Lashley with two chokeslams. He goes for a third and missed.
Lashley counters with a submission hold in the middle of the ring. Joe doesn’t tap but the ref calls for the bell. Samoa Joe is out cold in the middle of the ring. Lashley celebrates and Joe is out for a few minutes
Mick Foley Interview, Mick has gone back to his psycho roots away from his nice guy persona from the last few years and I like it a lot better than the happy Foley. Thank you...
Monster’s Ball: Mick Foley vs. Abyss with Dr. Stevie as Guest Referee
Foley goes in early and heads to the scaffolding at the entrance and Abyss follows him. Mick hits Abyss with 20 rights to the head till Abyss falls off the scaffolding right through the entrance stage. Now that had to hurt.
Foley heads to the ring with Dr.Stevie cheerleading him the whole way. Abyss finally makes his way to the ring half dead from the fall.
The weapons come out and the barbed wire gets the blood flowing. The fans chant “This is Awesome!” Foley takes out the tacks but Abyss hits Stevie onto the tacks. Foley is down and Daphnie comes to the side ot the ring and gives him a taser.
Foley tasers Abyss sending big sparks everywhere, then Foley goes for the pin. Abyss kicks out! The count was by Hebner who replaced Stevie after he hit the tacks. Was Mick robbed by Hebner? Even the announcers said it was a three count.
Daffney runs in but Abyss throws her out onto a barbwire table and she gets stuck on it on the outside of the ring hanging by it. Abyss choke slams Dr.Stevie onto the tacks then chokeslams Foley onto barbwire and gets the pin from Earl Hebner. Daffney still hangs from the barbwire after the match. Great hardcore wrestling.
Kurt Angle Interview, Angle says he’s gonna teach Matt Morgan a lesson, that it’s real.
Matt Morgan vs. Kurt Angle.
Angle dictates the pace of the match from the start but Morgan ends up dominating. Angle tries to comeback but fails. Matt goes to the top and off then goes for a pin attempt but Angle kicks out. Finally Kurt gets to Morgan and gets him down on the mat and starts working Morgan’s leg. Angle goes for a figure four leg lock in the middle of the ring and gets the hold locked.
Morgan fights hard until he can finally reverse the hold and breaks out. Angle hits Matt with a bunch of forearm uppercuts but Angle gets caught in a chokeslam by Matt Morgan. Morgan goes for a pin and Angle kicks out.
Suplex by Kurt Angle , then again. Morgan recovers and Kurt gets caught with a boot to the face. Pin attempt by Morgan and Angle kicks out. Angle Slam to Matt Morgan by Angle and a pin attempt by Kurt. Morgan kicks out.
Angle drops the strap s and puts Morgan in a Angle Lock.Morgan gets out. Angle lock again by Kurt to Morgan. Matt gets out again and puts Kurt In the Elevator. Morgan goes for the pin but Angle kicks out and Morgan looks frustrated. Morgan goes for a tombstone on Angle but Kurt reverses it into an Angle Lock. Matt kicks out of it.
A Morgan Sucks chant ensues…Morgan goes to the top ropes in the corner but Kurt throws him off the top. Now Angle goes up to the top ropes and Morgan goes to throw Kurt off but Kurt catches Matt on the way down and rolls him down with him into a cover and gets the pin. 1,2,3 Kurt Angle beats Matt Morgan. After the match Kurt Angle shakes Morgan’s hand and raises his hand.
Great sportsmanship by the Olympic Gold medalist.
Main Event TNA Championship Match: Champion AJ Styles vs. The ICON Sting.
Styles comes out and the crowd is a lil' quiet for their champ, odd. Earl Hebner gets booed.
The match starts off slow as the two men go back and forth. Sting tosses Styles around showing him he’s still got it. AJ fails two attempts off the top ropes. Sting reverses a tombstone attempt and hits it on Styles. Both men fail at pin attempts.Scorpian Death Drop by Sting to Styles, Stinger Splash then a Scorpian Death drop again Sting gets AJ into a Scorpion Death Lock but Styles gets out.
AJ goes off the top ropes and hits Sting and gets the pin to retain the TNA Championship.
I know this match seemed shorter than the rest and for me was the fail of the night and did not come off as a main event compared to the matches prior. So now the question is will Sting retire?? Sting walks out of the ring but AJ calls him back in and they shake hands.
“Please Don’t Go” chant starts. AJ gets Sting on the mic. Sting says this is AJ’s time and he doesn’t know if he’ll be back.
Bound For Glory was definitely off the meat rack. Non-stop action for sure. TNA delivered despite my distaste for the last match. Almost ever match was for a championship and a lot of questions got answered at this PPV. Keep up the good work TNA. If you missed it or you 're not tuning in to TNA then you’re missing out. TNA is coming through where the WWE is missing out. They continue to grow and develop into product for the fans.
Real wrestling for real wrestling fans.

The ppv was alright at best. Liked the end to the legends title match and thought it was pulled off pretty well. Somoa Joe was monster over with Lashley getting the Cena treatment from the crowd. Angle was doing his best to make the match with Morgan good but Morgan just refused to sell much of anything.
Dexter on the other hand was freaking badass tonight!!! This season has more cliffhanger endings then the previous three and I'm really loving it.
Aren't you happy for Rhino? To be part of a match that had his WM17 finish. Nice copying TNA, Are we going to have a Fingerpoke of Doom in the future?
I agree with Gordo. I enjoyed Bound For Glory very much. Guys like Matt Morgan, AJ Styles, and Abyss showed that they really are the future of this company last night. And with several vets leaving the company now, TNA's going to need their young talent to step up.
A few thoughts that crossed my mind during the show, though.
1.) Turn Abyss into a monster heel again. You can't have a monster be playing the underdog babyface. It worked with Foley, but it won't work with anybody else in the company. Make him an unstoppable heel again and push him to the friggin' moon.
2.) Why did the main event end with a springboard splash? And why did Morgan vs. Angle end with a victory roll? Both were very good matches, but the endings left something to be desired.
3.) Hernandez is about to feud for the Legends Championship, it seems. That's good for Eric Young, but I take back what I said last month about Hernandez. TNA is misusing this guy. I'm hopeful that he will be elevated into the main event in short order, but WWE has taught me better than to hope for anything logical.
4.) Kurt Angle hinted at a face turn with his handshake to Morgan after the match. Please dear God, no. Nothing against Kurt as a face, but he's the best heel TNA has.
That's pretty much it. I took a lot of good away from last night's show, so hopefully TNA builds on it. They've mentioned recently that they'd like to start pushing their younger stars and making the company about them, and last night I got the feeling that they're sticking to that ethos.
