Another week another ROH recap. Man, this week must have been something special since it looked like it was sponsored by a homeless shelter. During two guys looked like they were pulled off the street to compete. The first match was the best. Not that I’m bitching, but I would have hated to come on after it.We start off with Aries against this kid named Kenny Omega. The crowd chants “You tapped out!” at Aries because of his loss to Danielson last week. Then they chant “Asshole!” Omega is a cocky kid but likeable. He’s from Canada and looks like the lovechild of Dangerboy and Swagger.
This kid can move! The crowd warmed up to him quickly. This was a main event quality match with lots of give and take. Aries took advantage of rope breaks whenever he could. This match had me believing that Omega could pull out a win. I thought he knocked Aries out cold after a springboard moonsault to the outside. Aries reversed Omega’s Electric Chair German Suplex with a rake to the eyes. Damn.
I really wanted to see what that move looked like. A hard ass kick to the head (less is more) followed by a Brainbuster ends this one. Aries is showered with boo’s as Omega is left laid out. Great match and I look forward to seeing Omega again.
Next up is Delirious (who is becoming a favorite of mine quickly) versus Bum Number 1of the night Ernie Osiris. The just call him Dirty Ernie. Ernie starts off by running from Delirious after the bell. At one point Delirious removes Ernie’s show and throws it at him. Ernie says he needs that show.
A head ram but Delirious knocks the wind out of Ernie as he dives from the top rope. Looked cool. It gets a replay. A corner face smash followed by Hell’s Gate ends this one. I would’ve liked to see more from Ernie but this was fine.
Next is Daizee Haze with Nevaeh (that’s Heaven backwards) versus Sara Del Rey (looking so hot) and Stephie. Larry Sweeney is on Stephie like white on rice before this one. Haven’t seen Stephie or Nevaeh (I am gonna hate writing this name…) before. Boy, they are greener than whatever Daizee is toking! There is lots of fighting between Del Rey and Stephie.
Del Rey tags Stephie in just to tag herself back in repeatedly. Eventually Nevaeh (sigh) gives Del Rey a cross body outside the ring taking her out while Daizee slams Stephie with an Head Trip to end the match. Del Rey shouts that she didn’t get pinned and didn’t lose the match. Whatever makes you sleep at night, darlin’…
The main event is Jerry Lynn versus Brodie Lee, Bum Number 2, with Jimmy Jacobs. Lee is a big fella and uses his size during this match. Lynn keeps him off of his feet and levels him with dives outside the ring. This big bastard keeps kicking out. A TKO by Lynn only gets a two count. That move looks nice. While I’m busy waiting for a Cradle Piledriver Lynn wins with a roll up.
I can't even be mad. We are so used to seeing a certain move win matches that we have gotten spoiled. Lynn can go better than most young guys nowadays. Let these legends show guys how to get shit done more often. I say Lynn could hang with any world champion right now and show them a thing or two.
Another good show. Kinda hard to watch knowing so far in advance about title switches and such. I was still able to enjoy this though. One month in and each show is getting better. If this is still around a year from now I will be very happy. This one hour is making me happy.
Good to see solid ass matches and chicks go at it without hearing some old pervert screaming for puppies every five seconds. Next week looks good with Claudio Castagnoli versus Brent Albright. See you in seven days!

And Anonymous (is it really that hard to just make a name?), Brodie looked like some dude off the street to me. He could wrestle and all but between him and Ernie (plus Necro), it seems like ROH has a sponsorship with a shelter.
