The pilot episode was filmed in Florida back in August 2008, and is scheduled to be released in Fall 2009 on Fox in the United States. I took part in the pilot episode, and would like to shed more light on what “Wrestlicious” is, and my experience during the filming of this show.
“Wrestlicious” is the brain child of Jonathan Vargas, who was the youngest Powerball winner in U.S. history to the tune of thirty-five million dollars. One of his dreams was to somehow be involved in the wrestling business, as he was a huge fan growing up.
With his winnings, he was able to assemble a group of top talent and producers in order to create, produce, film, and market “Wrestlicious,” including Jimmy Hart and former GLOW producer John Cafarella, as well as many top female independent workers including Lexie Fyfe, Portia Perez, Nicole Matthews, Daizee Haze, Daffney, Madison Rayne, Mercedes Martinez, Rain, Becky Bayless, Lacey Von Erich, and many more. Jimmy Hart is also hosting the show alongside 2005 WWE Diva Search runner-up Leyla Milani.
As wrestlers, we were type-cast as characters that fit our looks and personalities, and our matches were based on storylines that reflected these characters. I played a character called “Alexandra The Great,” based on a combination of a Greek goddess and a Polish powerhouse.
In addition to the actual wrestling, "Wrestlicious" includes many vignettes, skits, and songs which showcase a different side of independent workers that the general public would probably not get to otherwise see. The characters are sexy, funny, quirky, and definitely over-the-top; much like what you would find in a comic book. We also participated in a bikini beach photo/video shoot as part of the promotional package for the show.
In terms of my personal experience with the show, I can definitely say that I had a blast. All the wrestlers and actors involved were treated amazingly well by all involved in the production, and if asked, I would absolutely return to continue filming future episodes.
A highlight for me was meeting Jimmy Hart and John Cafarella. They treated all of us respectfully, and offered feedback, suggestions, and praise for our hard work.
If you’re looking for serious plots, and true-to-life characters, then I suggest you look elsewhere. “Wrestlicious” is a fun take on wrestling, and provides a good laugh, beautiful girls, yet still manages to showcase solid women’s wrestling.
With a body of a goddess,
And abs so delicious,
Alexandra The Great (aka Miss Danyah) is Wrestlicious!

Gotta ask. Which of the lovely ladies double-dutied as Mr Vargas' "personal assistant"?
Ummmm I don't think Danyah is polish or greek! :)
Okay, guess I'm an asshole. Why are they covering up your hot ass body? Why is Jimmy stealing this kids money? This looks like GLOW for a new generation and thats not a good thing. There's enough of that on Raw, SD, and TNA. I dont know. Something about this doesn't sit right with me.
I stand corrected - Danyah IS half polish.
