Sonjay Dutt has opted to break off contract negotiations and leave TNA. The two sides were trying to come to terms on a new deal, but seemed to be at an impasse. Dutt frustrated, decided to walk.
TNA creative was apparently shocked by this development, as they were working on material for Dutt for the next couple weeks.
Dutt's bargaining leverage was the fact that he was marketed as the face of TNA in India, where Impact has done very, very well on TV.
Dutt's profile on the TNAwrestling.com roster has already been removed.
No word on what will happen to Dutt's on air valet/main squeeze, SoCal Val.

Hey Donnie I can't get the article man, plus I just read that Scott "Colt Cabana" Goldman just got released from WWE also.
He can replace The Great Khali as the token Indian guy, since it's been said Khali's health is declining and doesn't have many years in the ring left in him.
Too bad the boys in creative couldn't find him a hair piece to cover that FUCKED UP hairline of his.
His hairline was the least of his problems. Like most TNA guys, the more former fed members that showed up the further down the line he got sent. It looks like TNA really is working towards becoming WCW 2.0. If TNA is around in 2011 I will be shocked.
Stupid move by Dutt. What is he going to do now?
"...they were working on material for Dutt for the next couple weeks."
Way to plan for the long run, right? What would have happened in another month when they ran out of things for him to do again?
I was wondering the same shit! Couple of weeks? What the hell is that supposed to mean? I guess it explains a lot. Ask one of their writers what their plans for 2010 are if you wanna hear a room full of fellas crack up laughing.
Then again, "a couple of weeks" in 2000-2001 WCW time was often long enough to win and lose a world title 2 separate times, and Russo's still booking TNA, isn't he?
right. because russo was the only thing wrong with WCW.
Nah, just sayin' that a lot can be done in 2 weeks...and then be completely forgotten about in THREE weeks...
I watched this weeks TNA last night, and what great tag match between Beer Money and Team Canada. So good I watched it twice.
Big POPS!!! for all four guys, great job working the crowd too. Just a great tag match... and then they release Williams? Great gimmick "Loser leaves town", but damn.
I was thinking, and though I don't have access to either sides numbers, I'm sure that there are more download of tha o show than TNA PPV buys. Hell I'd go on a limb and say there are more hits on this site in a month than viewers of impact.
Couldn't they try another tag line... The Peoples Promotion. Listen to a large segment of your viewers and mostly potential viewers... maybe it'd work, maybe it wouldn't but for fuck sakes give the people a consistent quality show.
Yes we can!
