Jericho Assaults Fans After House Show

Afte the WWE "Raw" brand house show in Victoria, British Columbia on Saturday February 7th, there was an ugly incident between Chris Jericho and several fans.

Cynthia R. is an O-Ster who was in attendance and sent us a report. We looked around and found a pair of YouTube links to support the story.

Allegedly, Jericho left the parking lot in his rental SUV. A fan ran up asking for a photo. Jericho ignored the fan, who started tapping on the glass. Jericho continued to ignore which prompted the fan to toss up middle fingers and yell at Y2J. Jericho then opened the door of his vehicle and the same fan kicked the door shut. Here are two seperate angles that pick up where this leaves off.

It seems clear that someone shoved Jericho, and then he quickly became physically involved. It also seems clear in the second video that he hit a young woman who was asking for a photo.

Did Jericho go too far? Did the fans overstep their boundaries?

All I can say is WOW!!.

his afternoon after the WWE house show in Victoria, my girlfriend and I went to see the wrestlers leave the arena (this was my girlfriend's first WWE event and she wanted to see them leave). The following is exactly what happened right in front of me and about another 50 wrestling fans who happened to be there are well:

Chris Jericho exited the building, and walked over to his white rental vehicle. The crowd watching him leave was heckling him, but he was ignoring it. He gets in his vehicle and drives out of the arena parking lot, right past the crowd of us. As Jericho stops at a stop sign, a fan runs into the street and starts banging on his rental vehicle. At this point about 50 people rush into the middle of the intersection, blocking traffic in several directions, with no police and very inadequate and incompetent security (no WWE security guards period). My girlfriend and I were literally in the very front of the crowd, and this all went down literally five feet away from us.

Chris Jericho opens the door to his vehicle in the middle of the road, and the fan shuts the door back on him. Jericho then gets out of the vehicle completely, and punches the fan in the face! This prompts another fan to jump in (he was friends with the first) and attack Jericho, and Jericho scuffles with the second guy. At this point, a woman who knows the second guy who attacked Jericho starts to jump in and get in Jericho's face (because he was fighting her friend).

This is where the Save on Foods Rent-A-Security Guards stopped standing around watching this happen (I swear they thought they were watching a wrestling angle or something), and stepped in to separate Jericho and the woman, who was shoving him. Looking at Jericho's face he was obviously ready to explode and was restraining himself...but then the sh**storm happened...

He spit in the girl's face, and curses at her. The woman then spit in Jericho's face. Jericho then started cursing out the woman some more, and was getting ready to go back into his vehicle (as all of this is still happening in the middle of the road). While he was turning to go into his vehicle, one of the guys he was fighting shoved Jericho against his car. Another guy then shoved Jericho, and that time he bumped his head on the top of his vehicle. This was where Jericho seriously snapped.

After bumping his head, Jericho went into a sh**storm, throwing and swinging at everybody around him. He knocked one guy to the ground, told another fan that he was going to "f**king kill you". The woman who got spit on was still yelling at Jericho, so he pie faced her away from him (because the arena security couldn't keep them separated). As soon as he put his hands on the woman, ANOTHER fan jumps in and starts swinging at Jericho. Jericho grabs the guy and starts throwing him to the ground, and at this point I have to yank my girlfriend out of the way and into some other people because Jericho had literally thrown himself and the other guy into our direction and we would of been knocked down by the scuffle.

The arena security try again at this point to regain order, and two of them grab Jericho and start yelling at him to calm down, to which Jericho responds by taking a swing at one of the security guards and yelling at them to "do your f***ing job and get the f***ing police here". Then he shoves the second guard to the ground and tells him to "stay the f** off me".

Well, as that happens, the chick lunges at Jericho AGAIN, and this time Jericho actually punches the woman in the face, and shoves her to the ground. This stunned everyone, and the girl's friends ended up jumping in trying to fight Jericho, to which he fought all of them off, then storms into his vehicle swearing and speeds off, running through a stop sign in the process.

This whole thing happened over the span of about 5 minutes (of the street being blocked by this ordeal), and the woman ended up calling the cops on Jericho. They arrived 5 minutes after Jericho left, complete with a Paddy Wagon. The WWE's head of security did not see the incident, so he was there trying to figure out what happened along with the cops at the same time while yapping on his cell phone, and the woman is pressing charges against Jericho. As crazy and unbelievable this sounds, it can all be backed up with whatever police report was filed on the scene this afternoon.

I hope this made sense, as a lot of stuff happened. If you have any questions or need clarification, just ask. This was taped by several people with cell phone cameras, but there were only 50 people down there so I hope the video makes it way to the internet. Regardless, this went down as one of the craziest things I have ever seen in my life.

God bless Jericho! How is he the aggressor when that fuck kicked the door in on him? Hard to be the aggressor surrounded by 50 people and no security. If anything he was a dog backed in the corner.

That one cunt really asked for it though. No one there seemed to know their damn place.

Best part, in midst all of this one dumb bitch keeps asking "will you take a picture with me?" and one shithead concerned about their similar nationalities.

I hope the mainstream media grabs this one and runs with it.

I think that the real fuck ups here are the security.... if they kept people away from the car when jericho was driving nothing would have escalated.

Anonymous said...

I agree with Donnie here, the security really wasn't doing their job.

These fans are fucking assholes following that stupid mob mentality nonsense. Do you really want an autpgraph? Or do you wanna block up traffic following someone in the fucking CAR and shout at them in an attempt to be a tough guy?

What could Jericho do? You can say "Stay in the car" but he couldn't move with all those shitheads blocking him. I dont care of you're a kid, old man, or fan. You hit someones car you get your ass kicked. You ask me, he went to light on them. Fans shouldn't even have access to where a car is parked.

The bad thing though is the timing of all this. Right after Jericho is all over TV talking to Rourke and having his name in the press they will connect it with this shit. I wonder if he'll be punished for this or if the WWE will turn it into an angle. Hey, if they burned Eddie's car after he died this will seem like nothing.

WORK hahaha

1. Security was pathetic, and if they were competent, this never would have happened.

2. Anyone who verbally or physically harasses anyone else (particularly a pro wrestler), should be prepared for a fight. People don't respond kindly to that sort of thing.

3. Jericho should have restrained himself from hitting the woman.

4. This is going to give him even more heat -- and hopefully WWE runs with it, having him call out/challenge fans on his way to the ring or on the mic. Perhaps this could lead to Rourke's return to the program, if say, he was a front row "guest" of the WWE sometime after the Oscars and retaliated to Jericho's taunting/shoving (ala Bigelow and LT).

It was in Canada so it doesnt count...

Here's WWE's official reponse to the incident, after it was reported on TMZ:

"After leaving a live event in Victoria, British Columbia on Saturday evening, Chris Jericho's car was attacked by a mob when he was stopped at a stop sign. Unable to proceed, Chris Jericho exited his car to ask the crowd to clear a path so he could continue through the intersection. A man and a woman physically and verbally assaulted Mr. Jericho. Arena and WWE security arrived to establish enough order to allow Mr. Jericho to re-enter his vehicle and depart. The local police arrived minutes later. Mr. Jericho was unharmed in the incident. The WWE is working with local authorities who are investigating the incident to identify the man and woman who fled the scene."

from timescolumnist.com

...the male fan, who was identified as Kalen Johl & the female fan who was identified as Ashley Levey were both arrested and charged with assault. Levey denied assaulting Jericho when approached.

I think the security is to blame for this... I am from Toronto but I was at the Royal Rumble in Detroit and I was one of the fans that waited outside Joe Louis Arena waiting to the wrestlers pass and let me tell you when Jericho drove out he was yelled at cursed at some people even proceeded to bang on his car but the security at the arena was right ontop of things and escorted the fans back a few feet to let Jericho leave peacefully and that he did. This doesn't seem the case in Victoria BC those fans that cause that shit need to be arrested for assasult then started it from my point of view if anyone else was in Jericho's position we would have done the same. There is a difference between booing a character of Chris Jericho but different when you attack him.

Anonymous said...

why would you turn it into a part of an angle? that seems dumb unless jericho just mentions it in a promo which would be the only good way, it shouldnt even be brought up at all, he literally lost his cool and wnet after everyone. not a good way to represent yourself as a worker in front of everyfucking body.

Anonymous said...

donny are you serious? security should have done there job? yea security should have done there job, if they did there job jericho wouldnt have to attack a fan begging for an autograph..if you want to be a fucking pop star on tv.. with millions of fans..it comes with the fucking terrority.....attacking a fan for autograph request or even a heckler...is ridiculious...your just tryna gain some points for taking "the boys in the back" stance...fuck that..u wanna be in the lime light then deal with it cock suckers and sign autographs till your hand beaks otherwise rock a mask or a dress to hide yourself...

Big Daddy Donnie said...

Agreed. Jericho should not have touched ANYONE. He went too far. My point was, if security was present the whole thing would've been prevented before Jericho had an opportunity to confront anyone.

If two fans have been charged and arressted, then Jericho should be too.

Anonymous said...

^^i def hear ya man.....i guess its the times man...i remember a time when someone would see a wrestler and shit there pants even when asking for an autograph....a bit of kayfabe is always good...but since there "entertainers" now and not "monsters" i guess u gotta expect this now...and jericho honestly looked like he was having a shitty day....he was itching for some drama..but thoose fans and hecklers were out of line though..and security was real laid back....either way thats phenomenal i cant belive this is on youtube...cant wait for thaoshow..i wanna hear the discussion on this shit lol...i might call in to give my thoughs on tha o phone..hyppppppppe [dans signature cock in the ass squel]

jericho looks like a gay customer service rep for ibm

Yeah that shit is fucked up.

My opinon is that the fans should have no place to surround and block the path of any wrestlers car just to talk shit to him. The fans clearly steped out of the bounds of fans and became hostile and desirve to get their asses kicked.

Now when it comes down too the woman...She should not have been hit or spit on. But in the video I heard can I get a picture with you and Jerichos awnser was obviously NO since he went to get in his car and the dumb ass bitch went to push him and he turned around and hit her. Now do I know jericho knew it was a chick no..but he might as well have so its still fucked up.

The security was fucked and thats really what lent to this all happening. But Donnie I will say even if jericho was charged with assault he would get off faster then dan-e-o on dick because its basic self defense the fans initiated the contact and jericho "maybe not needed" but he faught back out of self defense.

I'd be fully on Jericho's side if he hadn't heeled on the woman. THAT was, as Sammy Hagar once put it, the mark of an asshole.

And that WWE report is fucking cringeworthy.

I have a really big feeling this is a work. Remember the Jeff Hardy Incident?

donnie he did the right thing

Anonymous said...

I guess the Jericho heel turn is officially official

Anonymous said...

I think that Jericho should re-hire Ralphie as his personal bodyguard/chauffeur again!!!

The fans should know that the show ends in the arena and does NOT continue outside in parking lots, malls, restaurants, etc,...
Jericho and the rest of the WWE roster had just finished performing for the fans and this is what Jericho gets? I think that the fans stepped way out of line!!!

This incident reminds me of the one from a few weeks ago when that fan threw beer at Orton, and Orton retaliated by shoving the barricade against the drunken asshole! I say that those fans deserved what they had coming!!!

Anonymous said...

Just throwing this out there. Is there any way this could potentially weave into a story line? Possibly Jericho cutting a promo and showing this video on the titantron? Probably too many legal issues

Downtown said...

The cunt asking for the autograph wasn't the same cunt that got punched. He was provoked and he could've really fucked them up but instead allowed them to continue breathing.

If he doesn't play this up tonight (if he's there tonight), then what a waste of my time even watching.

Good for Chris Jericho!!

Fans take this business WAY TOO FAR. A guy is in his car heading to the next show and is swarmed by fans. I'll play devils advocate here and say the fans had no right to swarm the mans car. You want an autograph go to the Wal-Mart or Fan Access or where ever else the workers are.

And FUCK YES there should have been security barricading the exit allowing the workers and crew to leave peacefully. I worked Security and Private investigation for 5 years and when the fed did a show in Hamilton it was the venues job to block both sides of the driveway when somebody was exiting or entering to prevent this.

Humble opinion is both the feds security dropped the ball not ensuring there was proper security staff on hand and the venue dropped the ball not having the staff there.

This all being said Jericho should have never gotten out of the car for any reason and should never have put a hand on anyone, man or woman.....Chris Jericho being the Vet that he is should have known better to get out....hindsight 20/20 and think Jericho did the best he could in a shitty situation

This sh*t is great all around.

Installs a bit of kayfabe back into the business. It would be a worse situation is this was Jeff Hardy or Cena doing this.

This is one of the company's top heel (despite what Don might say). He looks like a complete jerk hitting a woman but it only improves the character.

Of course their may be legal ramifications of this incident but I don't know if these two jabronis can hire the lawyers Vince can. It will probably be thrown out.

My prediction is that the marks loved getting into a fight with Jericho and will brag about it more than take legal action.

Yeah, Chris already hit Shawn Michael's wife after all, there's nothing new for him ah,ah!

On a more serious note, the WWE wrestlers must feel pretty much safer when they travel in Europe because they are taking care of in tour buses and police escorts from hotel to arenas.

Why not in America?

WORK!!!

lol...damn...either its real or Jericho can sell like a mug man

WWE better use it and not suspend or fire him...he's a heel...he just got a Lotta heat..and dammit....I hope he's not really a ***hole like that but you can clearly see he was getting pissed and couldn't leave...I'd get pissed too probably

Anonymous said...

BTW Ralph is in TNA

Either Jericho should jump or Ralphie should jump.....either way it helps out the both of them in a way....or....just Jericho actually

WORK! I don't doubt for a minute that this is Vince's way of drumming up some much needed Heat for WM. After the Mickey Rourke clusterfuck(which was poorly thought out)they needed something to get people interested during this shitty economy and lo and behold we get THIS! If this was not a work then i find myself totally on Jericho's side and place the blame on the shoulders of the Security people. I did that job for a few years and in my opinion, they FUCKED UP BIG TIME! The Fans should never be able to get that close to someone without some sort of security in between. The guy could have been shot or stabbed easily which is why i'm inclined to say this is a WORK,if its not, then anybody working security in that arena that day should be FIRED!!!!!

Listen Rock star, super star or guy next door we are all allowed to have a bad night and he was tired and wanted to call it a night, Vince that piece of shit, runs these guys into the ground and treats them like shit cause they want to do this for a living. And it makes me sick that people think that in any way they have the right to swear and kick at someone cause they just don't want to respond to they need to get something from them. Grow up, let the man live his life. and the bottom line is no one has the right to go after someone over something like a that get over it its a picture, what are you drunks 5. And that security should fired.

Anonymous said...

First off let's make it perfectly clear as to where Jericho was. If he was on the roadway as was claimed then security is not to blame whatsoever. The venue security only has authority on the property to which they are assigned. Since they would be contracted to that site once Jericho left the property he was no longer their responsibility. WWE's own personal security is another matter. Another consideration is where the cops. Someone should have notified them of the event and the venue. Above it said that the cops took a while to get there after this incident. They should have been in the area knowing that a large contingent of people were about to leave a building and precaution should have been taken.
Second of all Jericho should not be charged with assault but the people who pushed and hit him should be. At no time did I see in this video that Jericho 'initiated contact'. If fact if there hadn't been contact on his vehicle in the first place non e of this would have happened.
Third- all of the people are on the roadway and impeding traffic. The whole group should be charged with a quasi-criminal offence.
In some ways I like the old days. If someone got in the face of a heel not only was it encouraged that he should punch someone lights out-he would be fired on the spot if they didn't. Some people are in need of a good kick in the teeth.
Some people think that because they buy a ticket they are entitled to an autograph or a picture. They're not. You buy a ticket to rent a seat for a show. That seat is all you are entitled to. Everything else is a benefit, not a right. It's entertainment, nothing more.
I could go on and on, but I'm done for now.
Big H
