Killer Kowalski Dead At 81

A Canadian icon died today. Walter "Killer" Kowalski finally surrendered from the effects of a major heart attack suffered on 08-08-08. Kowalski had shown little improvement over the next few weeks, and his family decided on August 18th to have him taken off life support. Earlier today, Kowalski finally went to sleep.

The 6'7" native of Windsor Ontario had a 30 year wrestling career that spanned many NWA territories, the AWA and the old WWWF. He is often referred to as the quintessential heel, and the man who taught all future generations what a bad guy should look like.

Above and beyond his Hall Of Fame wrestling career, Kowalski also made his mark on the business by training some of the top tier talents. Among his list of students are Triple H, Big John Studd, Perry Saturn, John Kronus, Chyna, Matt Bloom (AKA A-Train / Prince Albert) Christopher Nowinski, April Hunter, Frankie Kazarian, Nikki Roxx, and Kenny Dykstra.

Kowalski won many titles over his career, but had been heard saying his favourite was when he donned a mask and teamed with his protege John Studd to win Vince Sr's tag titles as one half of the masked Executioners in 1976.

He was a true legend, and ambassador to this great industry.

All of us here at Tha O Show wish the Kowalski family nothing but peace as they grieve through this difficult loss.
