Big News On Many Canadian Wrestlers

It has been a very news worthy few days relating to several Canadian wrestlers in WWE. The major news came out of WWE's developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling where we may have seen the first step of a major faction forming.

As was rumored by Big Daddy and Dan-e-o on this week's edition of Tha O Show, The New Hart Foundation reformed on July 25th at the Davis Arena when Nattie Neidhart, wearing full out pink and black, came out to Bret Hart's old entrance music. Moments later, the music plays again and out from the curtain comes Harry Smith and Teddy Hart.

The trio were introduced as The New Hart Foundation. Unfortunately, there was no sign of T.J. Wilson who had been rumored to be a part of the group because of his close association with the family.

Back in December I wrote an article for this very web site speaking to how much I would love to see a New Hart Foundation faction coming in as a strong group of heels to take on DX. Though it seems we may have seen the last of HHH and Shawn Michaels as a pair, someone over in Stamford must see the potential box-office success in this feud. Let's hope we will see The New Hart Foundation debut on television sooner rather then later.

It is amazing that at 23-years old Rene Dupree had already been with WWE for 4 years. After splitting from La Resistance, Dupree was heralded as a major singles star on the rise who had the size, look, and charisma to become a major player. As is seen with many athletes, too much success early on in your career hinders your development as many cannot cope with stardom at a young age.

Rene Dupree became the youngest man to ever hold a WWE championship when he and Sylvan Grenier became WWE tag-team champions, he was 19-years old. After being moved to "SmackDown!" and having a run as the United States Champion, Dupree seemed to have lost his confidence and in recent years had been going back and forth between OVW and the main roster. Rumors are swirling that Dupree may have been let go for failing WWE's Wellness Policy, but at this point nothing can be confirmed.

Dupree's former tag-team partner is also someone making the news over the last few days. Sylvan Grenier looks to be making a return to the main roster with a manager, former WWE Diva Search contestant and fellow Canadian Maryse Oulette (no relation to Pierre The Pirate). The two have been paired recently on WWE dark matches and by all accounts seem to be working well together.

This may be Sylvan's last kick at the can as he has been given several chances with numerous gimmick changes over the last few years. Going from a model to the ambassador to Quebec has not gotten the young star far as he hasn't been able to improve his in-ring work. If this new push falters you can bet Sylvan might be reuniting with Rene on Quebec indies in the not so distant future.

And finally, everyone's favourite Canadian wrestler Edge had surgery this week to repair the torn pectoral muscle he injured on "SmackDown!" 2 weeks ago. The injury is worse then originally thought and Adam Copeland will be out of action for about 5 months, slightly longer then the 3-4 months that was originally diagnosed. Tha O Show wishes Edge all the best on a speedy recovery.

Oh Canada, it's been a busy week.

It's amazing that of La Resistance, Conway and Dupree are gone, and Sylvan still has a job. I would have never believed that in a million years.

I wouldn't get too excited about the New Hart Foundation. Rumors from OVW are saying that Teddy Hart doesn't "get it" and he is rubbing a lot of people the wrong way already.

He apparantely takes phone calls during training meetings and refuses to set up or clean up.

If he doesn't straighten his act up, he won't likely be brought up to the main roster, and he is likely to hold back Harry and Nattie with him.

Ugh, Rene Dupree was never the WWE United States Champion.

I like Teddy Hart, but if he messes this up I swear I'll punch him in the face.

Teddy is a good athelete...and that's about all I've got for that one.

Dupree and Conway were by and far the best two La Resistancers and Sylvan is only Pat Patterson's "friend," I guess that shows that it's a plus to have friends.

The New Hart Foundation could be good, but if it is messed with at all, and done even slightly improperly it'll be about the same as a highway in the desert. FLAT!

they should be heels just like before but it would be impossible to do that in Canada so they should do what Bret did long time ago
