Martel Dead At 49

Tha O Show has just learned that WWE Hall Of Famer, Sherri Russell, better known to wrestling fans as 'Sensational' Sherri Martel passed away this morning in her home.

Police are currently in Russell's home with her husband, conducting an investigation. At this time, there is no further information available. Russell was just 49 years old.

I had the pleasure of meeting Sherri several times and always found her to be delightful and one of top wrestling minds in the business. On behalf of myself, and all of my co-workers here at Tha O Show, we extend our deepest sympathies to Sherri's family and close friends.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.

This is terrible. Shocking, and terrible.

Rest in piece. Thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.

It isn't funny, but quite ironic how you guys were talking about Vince making lite of death, and this quickly it's bit him in the billion dollar ass. I wonder how the E will handle this, and if the comments Don/Dan and Frank made will turn out.

You were phenomenally lucky to have met Sherri once let alone several times.I was really shocked to have learned of Sherri's passing, but I will always remember her contribution to wrestling with a smile on my face. She truly was Sensational.

I find it extremely sad that a legend like Sherri dies at such a young age and WWE barely covers it, while sticking to the Vince r.i.p. gimmick.
The fact that the WWE cares more about a fake dead Vince then a real dead former star is very disrespectful.

It's beena bad year for wrestling legends . What is this the sixth or sventh death of a legend this year and it's only about half way done.
Good Bless you Sherri.

No joke signguy, I hadn't even thought of it that way.

I feel badly that i don't remember off hand all the names. I remeber Bad News, but I can't remember if Bam Bam was late last year, or early this year, but it counts. So Bad news, Bam Bam, Arnold Skaaland, now Sherri, I feel shitty I know I'm forgetting somebody.

Jill Jarrett too. While she isn't a wrestling legend or wrestler, she meant alot to many wrestlers.

07 is turning out to be another 04-05 whichever year that was.

I also thinks its sad that WWE is still focussed on Vince while a Hall of Famer passes for real.
I have said this before.. I have no problem with the storyline but am I the only one that got the creeps when they rang the bells on SD and ECW? How many times the last few years have we tuned into a show to hear those bells for a wrestler that really has passed on?
I have no problems with storylines but I do believe that there are certain lines you dont cross. And I feel ringing the bells (something that to me is sacred and a honor) for a storyline is crossing that line.
My heart goes out to Sheri's family and her husband. She was a great star. Sad to see her go at such a young age.

She was an inspiration to me, and the main reason why I started training as a wrestler.
