Throw Tha Book At Them!

If you care about TNA, then you probably watched "iMPACT!" last night, or at least went and read what happened somewhere online. So I'm not going to touch too much on what happened. I am, however, going to bitch A LOT about the booking for TNA, which just seems to get worse and worse as time progresses.

We'll start off with Kurt Angle VS. Sting, simply because that's how the show started off. A five minute match that was mostly stalling, and ended as a no-contest when Cage and his flunkies stormed the ring. Angle and Sting would team up and clean house. For what everybody thought would be a dream match, it was a nightmare for smarks everywhere.

Okay, I realize that Cage is the champ, but why is it necessary to throw him into every damn segment involving who his opponent is? This mini-storyline is about Angle wanting the title shot, but being angry that Sting has it. Did you see Christian Cage's name anywhere in that last fucking sentence? No. Should it be? No. Does TNA care? Fuck no.

The tag team match was decent, but the booking ruined it. Too reminiscent of that tag team battle royal on "Raw" a few weeks back. Since when are Senshi and Shark Boy a tag team? For that matter, since when are Alex Shelley and Frankie Kazarian a team? Doesn't Kazarian already have tag team partners in Devine and Bentley? At least we now have one good Sacrifice match to watch, as the members of last year's Team USA - Sonjay Dutt, Chris Sabin and Jay Lethal - will battle in a Triple Threat.

The three were great friends when they were all face, and now that one is heel, they're facing off for the title. I have to give TNA credit, that is smart pay-per-view booking. And it's storyline consistent. Wow...could TNA possibly be eclipsing "Raw"?

Team 3D VS. Steiner and Tomko...I'm not even gonna get into this. LAX helping 3D win...retarded, and not in the good way. I'm just wondering why they are going to turn LAX face to feud with an illegitimate tag team. I get it, they want to get LAX out of the title picture for a while after that long program with 3D. But at least keep the bitches heel! Have them feud with VKM or something like that. BG and Konnan used to be partners, even tag team champions at one point, so it's not like there's no springboard there.

Christian Cage VS. Sting for the NWA Championship. Stupid idea. Stupid match. Fucking stupid ending. I realize that having the old "run-in during a title match" helps to build towards the next pay-per-view, but let's face it, TNA has used run-ins so much as of late that it's become an awful cliche for them. Look for Cage VS. Sting VS. Angle at Sacrifice as the fallout.

But, just so I can end this article on a positive note - at least there were no gimmick matches on "iMPACT!" this week!

What? no comment on the Young v Roode segment?

Ms Brooks taking the guitar shot?

That segment got more pop than the entire show

You were right about the X-division multi-tag match... Senshi and Sharkboy? who booked that?

But there were a few Dope O moments

Jay Lethal is just so talented, I'm a officially a Black Machismo Mark... dive through the ropes, hit the guy bullseye, and land on your feet... thats skill

the DVR frank'd up so i missed the Kurt run-in... sounds like it sucked... Cage goes over for the next year

TNA TNA TNA TNA TNA TNA TNA TNA

I'm kidding last night wasn't that good, but well Jeff Jarrett seems to have taken yet another step in the right direction. If he works a program with Roode, that will be Roode's springboard to the main event. Hell we could see Roode vs. Young for the strap down the line. Holy shit, would it not be dope to see Christian Cage defending the TNA Title(which it is supposed to be at Sacrifce) against Robert Roode down the line somewhere. I'd O like a mother fucker. From now on, I propose, that we no longer look at the show itself, but how the show could fit in to the big picture.

LAX were faces anyway, 50% of the crowd cheered em, and more than 65% of the population cheered them. TNA would be retarded not to capitolize on their drawing potential. Have 3D run for a while with the gold, then turn on LAX and have 3D play the heels and LAX have a fucking massive following when they win their 3rd set of TNA gold, and have Hernandez break out the ring again.

One of WWE's biggest stars has decided to leave the company in the near future. Also, an important behind-the-scenes person is also planning on leaving the company. The names should be revealed within the next few days.

Got that off a dirtsheet, and didn't know where to put it other than TNA, since thats where this person is likely going if they stay involved. Does anybody know who it is? Is it Van Dam by any chance?

I read that too D.J.B. Van Dam is who I also thought of.

Yeah, I wish Donnie would clarify it, and let us know since he is connected. Seriously though, Van Dam was the name immediately on my mind, but over the last little bit, I've wondered if they mean big star RIGHT now, or a guy like Foley who has seriously pondered TNA before, and even had a meeting with Vince telling him he was leaving for TNA, until Vince gave him the freedom that TNA would grant. Another name to ponder, I guess.

As reported earlier, Rob Van Dam has decided not to accept WWE's renewal offer, so the presumption is he is leaving when his contract expires at the end of August. Anything can still happen though.

The breaking point was when they began to waffle on how much time off they'd be giving him. He wanted a chunk of time off this year - six-plus months - and a limited schedule otherwise. He may be jobbed out soon to try to lower his value to TNA if he signs there, which is likely.
