Hip-Hop Loves Wrestling! Pt.4

It's no secret that music is my first love. And hip-hop represents the music world in which I live.

When Tha O Show sat down with New Jack a week ago to conduct a shoot interview (DVD coming soon), we discovered that he shared this sentiment.

Referring to himself as "old school", New Jack revealed Ice-T, Scarface and N.W.A. among his favourite artists. Of course, New Jack is well-known for using "Natural Born Killaz" - a song by N.W.A. members Dr. Dre and Ice Cube - as his ring entrance music.

As soon as Tha O Show started in February of 2006, I took it upon myself to relay the links between hip-hop and the other object of my admiration: pro wrestling. Read that article here: Part One.

Over the past week on WWE TV, hip-hop megastar, Timbaland proved he's also on board.

The way I see it, hip-hop and wrestling need not be jealous of one another. We can all live in harmony...in a glorious threesome, if you will. They've been in cahoots for quite some time, anyway. For more proof, read my second article here: Part Two.

And while you're at it, go ahead and check out Part Three as well.

I now dedicate to you, my loyal O-sters, the fourth installment of my "Hip-Hop Loves Wrestling" series. Enjoy...

1) "I freak beats slam it like Iron Sheik,
Jam like a tech with correct techniques"

- Nas on "It Ain't Hard To Tell" from the album, Illmatic (1994)

2) "Whatever you perceive, fuck it, just wild out,
This is WWF-style SmackDown!"

-Oh No on "Stomp That" from the album, The Disrupt (2004)

3) "And you know I'm 'The Bird Man', cause I sold so much KoKo
B. Ware of the crack pipe, that's by far in ya life"

-Jayo Felony on "O.G. To Me" from the Scarface album, The Last Of A Dying Breed (2000)

And not surprisingly, we can depend on Redman albums for a bunch of quotes...

4)"You fake ass niggaz, gettin screened like a short pass,
And if you incorrect, I'mma Diamond Cut your bastard ass" (and later)
"But we gonna do it how you want, cuz I'm wit it to brawl with you, Now what if I put your bitch ass in a headlock and fall wit chu?"

-Tame One on "Close Ya Doorz" from the Redman album, Doc's Da Name 2000 (1998)

5) "My appetite for destruction is to hustle,
All the cotton out the turnbuckle when I rustle"

-Redman on "Let Da Monkey Out" from the album, Doc's Da Name 2000 (1998)

6) "I don't know but it's on my top lip, don't crack jokes, and pop shit,
Just get it off my top lip, or Reggie, you'll get dropkicked"

-Redman on "Redman Meets Reggie Noble" from the album, Whut? Thee Album (1992)

7) "My steel's 'Raw' like Bradshaw's muh-fucka!"

-Redman on "Muh-Fucka" from the album, Malpractice (2001)

8) "Now I'm back in the air, ready to put my SmackDown!
I'm searchin for the impostor to pat down"

-Redman on "Soopaman Luva 5 (Part 1)" from the album, Malpractice (2001)

9) "I'm hot scorchin' but Stone Cold like Steve Austin ,
If you smell what Tical cookin'..."

-Method Man on "Blackout" from the Method Man/Redman album, Blackout! (1999)

10) "Battle royal, in the ring I'm smoking like Doc outta oil"

-Redman on "4 Seasons" from the Method Man/Redman album, Blackout! (1999)

And while we're at it, watch Method Man and Redman wrestle in the hilarious music video for "Tear It Off". It was the first off the Blackout! album.
