WSX In Jeopardy?

Episode Four of WSX's weekly TV show has been pulled off the air.

There are a couple of reasons for this. One if that MTV, the parent company of WSX has recently undergone a massive shake up amongst their network executives. Some of the people originally responsible for WSX have been let go. There is growing concern that the vision for WSX is too violent for MTV.

Episode four was set to feature a spot where Rickey Banderas tossed a fireball in the face of WSX Champion Vampiro. Is that so bad? A fireball in the face is as common as a top wrist lock to our boy, Bloody Bill Skullion.

The big fear for MTV is that kids, and teenagers huffing glue will try tossing fireballs at each other. Remember, MTV came under massive fire for the series "Jackass". But nobody actually tried to be like "Jackass" Did They? Hmmm. I digress.

Paul DeBenedittis was an MTV exec until recently, and is the one directly responsible for putting WSX up against ECW. This decision has been questioned heavily.

The next episode of Wrestling Society X is currently scheduled to return on Tuesday 2/27 at 10:30 PM.

The network is obliged contractually to air 10 episodes. The way things look right now, WSX may have a very short shelf life.

I was starting to really enjoy it too. Alittle cheesy yes, but different. And god, Teddy Hart was amazing in his tag match.

If there is ever any doubt, this is proof once again that the history of professional wrestling is written by television executives.

The day Doug Herzog is replaced at Spike TV is the day TNA is gone.

I know ill get some heal heat here but I say good riddance. It was a gimmick promotion anyways. WSX is more a marketing venture than the legit wrestling organization tha o show staffers have made it out to be. It lacks in-ring psychology, credibility, and honest to god heart.

ok i was with you for most of that. but you cant say they have no crediblity or heart.all those boys , the young ones specificly, work there asses off and put 100% into a 3 minute match. colt cabana himself has excellent in ring psycology. why he isnt in the wwe is beyond me.

Okay, those kids DO have heart and I dont mean to say they arent giving it their 100% out there. What I am saying is that the promotion lacks the heart.

But I do stand by my statement of a lack of in-ring psychology. I don't understand the need to cram as much action as you can into a 3 minute match. Sure on paper it looks nice, but to watch the match it looks more like the performance of an acrobat, than a professional fighter. Now dont get me wrong, Im not against crazy high flying moves. I just don't see the need to use a reverse springboard ddt as a SET UP MOVE! Using crazy high flying moves is one thing, but downplaying their effectiveness, through no selling an entire match, just to set up for an even crazier move is the definition of a lack of in-ring psych.

I don't know if I would say that it's in jeopardy. Yes, MTV caught a lot of heat for Jackass, but look at how successful it was. It even churned out two equally successful spin-offs, and a pair of movies that were box office smashes.
