Ring Of Honor promoters shocked a lot of people on Saturday night by having Japanese star Takeshi Morishima defeat Homicide to win the coveted ROH title.
Morishima is the first wrestler born outside the United States to win the ROH World Title. Other greats that have worn that belt include Samoa Joe, CM Punk, James Gibson (Jamie Noble), Austin Aries and my personal fav, Bryan Danielson - The American Dragon.
Apparently, ROH wants to give Morishima a nice long run and build him like a Bruiser Brody type monster.
Morishima will be taking the title to Japan and defending it under the banner of Pro Wrestling NOAH.
This really does look to be a smart move by ROH, as their World Title has literally gone global. Great job by all everyone involved in putting this together. Kudos to 'Cide who was a HELL of a champion.

After a 1 year long chase, Homicide wins and loses the belt in just over a few months.
Seems to me TNA is taking back all their stars from ROH.
Morishima is really an impressive worker, very agile big man who reminds a lot of people of Terry Gordy. He will be a great champ.
I've only seen Morishima on Youtube but i think hes amazing
I've only seen him on youtube as well, but this is one ROH dvd I will own as soon as it is available. ROH is global now, I'm dead serious if they got a tv deal, smarks would give them ratings to outdo TNA and in time they could possibly be the ones to compete with the E. Although with their style, I dont know how many networks would give then a deal. Considering there are only 4 BIG networks(In america) CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX. There are many more but most fall under the umbrella of one of these, and USA is owned by NBC so count them out they wouldn't have a competitor...wow how the hell did I get this off topic. ANYWAY, kudos to ROH for a move to even further solidify the ROH belt as a true World Championship.
ROH bores me.
Check your pulse Jack. Unless you find the WWE soap opera style more to your liking I don't see how ROH is boring.
