Triple H Out Of Action

It has been confirmed that Triple H (real name Paul Michael Levesque) tore his right quadriceps muscle last night, during his tag match against Rated RKO. Triple H is currently in Birmingham, Alabama with Dr. James Andrews. He is scheduled to have surgery on his torn muscle tomorrow.

Triple H suffered this same injury to his left quadriceps on May 21st 2001, when he and Steve Austin were defending their tag team titles against Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit. Benoit and Jericho won the titles that night and Triple H was put on the shelf until January 7th, 2002. That’s right, five years to the day he returned from that injury, the poor bastard did it again!

Triple H will be 38 years old in July. A sports physician I spoke to today said that this type of injury is career threatening for virtually any athlete, and recovering from it at the age of 38 is no easy feat. Do I think for a second that Hunter Hearst Helmsley will pack it in, and hang up his sledgehammer? Hell no.

Truth is, he will be back – likely towards the end of 2007 or early 2008. His lateral mobility could be permanently affected. Speculation on various websites that he’ll be back by SummerSlam are ridiculous.

Unsubstantiated reports state that Triple H was tentatively scheduled to face John Cena for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 23.

Expect DX to take a break, or be disbanded completely. Shawn Michaels has been looking to take some much needed time off to heal his body. There are stories out there that WWE may look to continue the DX merchandise train by having Shawn recruit a new member or two.

Ironic. In DX’s first run, it was HHH recruiting new members to replace the injured Heartbreak Kid.

I wonder how VKM will react to this on the next “iMPACT!”.

All of us here at Tha O Show wish Triple H all the best. Spend some time with your wife, healing, recovering and playing with your beautiful little daughter, Hunter. We’ll be waiting for you when you’re ready to go.

My fave wrestler out for a frickin year. What a bummer.
Maybe those young punks in the back can learn a thing or two from the guy. You know like keep it going for another five minutes or so even with the injury.
He'll be back and get that 11th reign started.

Get well soon HHH

He's probably one of the tougher individuals in the biz, so I'm guessing that he'll be back a month or two before schedule, and ready to take back the top spot. I dont give a shit who does it as long as I don't see the Marinapper or the Rapine every week. I'd like it to be H at least once more, but if he comes back to singles it'll be 4-5 more. Good luck H, and I definetly wish him a speedy recovery.

HHH,
Please hear the body is talking to you...
You tore the other side because it's a fact that one side will work or break according to how you center your healing...
I love you & your family and hope someone gives you my message of all others because I've got GAME!!!
I'm seeing more things...
You must never forget to love yourself enough to heal completely without worry of loosing your JOB...Or something awful like that!

Buck up and come to Hollywood, CA.
I got ideas and stories to share...and it's nice weather.
I'll save you & Steph from any weirdos, I promise.
DH

Triple H had quad surgery yesterday in Birmingham, AL under the knife of Dr. James Andrews. The early report is that the surgery was a success. The quadriceps tear came off of the bone and the kneecap of his right leg and was reattached. He will now begin rehab and is expected to be out 4-6 months.

WWE.com has some photos up of the surgery and Triple H prior to and after the surgery. Check them out here.

Not to ruffle any feathers here, because I respect the hell out of H, and Michaels, but how bout Kurt Angle? The guy won an olympic gold medal with a broken neck, finished a match with RVD of all people, after tearing God only knows how many muscles. Wrestlers in general are tough, you can't call one tougher than the other, because you don't know that persons tolerance for pain. I would never say that Brian or Kip, or Kurt was tougher than H, or Michaels, but I also wouldnt say that H or Michaels were tougher than Brian and Kip, or Kurt. Every man whomever he is, except Batista that is, who laces up a set of wrestling boots is tougher than the normal guy walking down the sidewalk. I respect the hell out of all of them.

Batista isn't tough at all.
Please.

I heard stories about him gettin his ass whipped when he was bouncing.
