Okay, let me just get this out of the way early. To all of you John Cena supporters out there...during last night's "Raw", did you bust a gut when Cena referred to The Big Show as "poopy pants"? Find that humorous did you? Was that part of what you like to call John Cena's ability to cut "good" promos? Now, before I get accused of "hating wrestling" because of these questions, let me mercifully move on.
Pretty good "Raw" last night. (Weird, it seems I like wrestling after all!). Especially the ladder match between Jeff Hardy and Johnny Nitro for the Intercontinental Championship.
It boggles me that there is no "O" in Jeff Hardy's name. But I'm not surprised that Johnny Nitro earned his right to have two in his.
Although Hardy - in classic Jeff Hardy fashion - took the craziest bumps (who didn't "O" when he Swanton Bombed himself into the ladder?!), this ladder match was about Johnny Nitro. It definitely was his coming out party...and not in the Kanyon sort of way. By the end of this match, Nitro had proven himself to be a major player - capable of performing in some of WWE's higher-end match-ups.
Nitro's ability to go toe to toe with Jeff Hardy - in a match that Hardy has helped make famous - AND pull off crazy moves and counter-moves of his own (sweet standing dropkick from the top rung of the ladder!) has allowed him to utilize this ladder match to take a major step in his career (pun intended). Look for him to climb the ranks (pun still intended) and take his status in this industry to a higher level (totally intended).
Anyone else find it strange that at the beginning of the match, Jeff Hardy started his own "Hardy! Hardy!" chant?
How about that Lita? She may just have pulled off the best promo ever cut by a female wrestler. I couldn't argue with one word she said. It is odd though that the retirement angle - which in fact is not an angle, she is leaving WWE - is being played out EXACTLY as Trish Stratus' was: By announcing that she will be competing in her final match at the next pay-per-view.
I wonder, however, if she'll be given the Trish-treatment: by retiring with the Women's title. I'm guessing she won't.
Now I liked seeing ECW guys on "Raw" last night...but hated seeing them squashed. To me, Umaga's easy defeat over Sabu did nothing to help the brand. Also, under-utilizing the rest of the talent (except for The Big Show, of course) similarily 'squashes' their ability to get over with the generally larger mainstream WWE audience.
Speaking of squashes, I wonder how WWE intends to breathe new life into the current members of the Spirit Squad after they've broken up. Triple H exclaiming that "they're easy" didn't exactly sound like 'pushing' words. Nicky's seemingly easy loss to Dusty Rhodes - not exactly a plus either.
I gotta admit it again. Cryme Tyme made me laugh. This week it was Shad and JTG's exclamation of "I'm scared, I'm scared" as they fought over Maria's comforting embrace while watching the See No Evil DVD.
I liked the major scrum to close out the show as well. There's nothing like a ring packed with superstars to build excitement for an upcoming PPV. Still excited that Survivor Series is visiting its roots with a number of traditional elimination matches, I hope the show is used to help push the superstars who need pushing the most.
For example, it'd be great if CM Punk somehow scored a pinfall over Randy Orton. However, that's unlikely to happen. It's unlikely any ECW competitor (again, save for Big Show) will pick up an elimination. If WWE is smart though, they'll take this already-intriguing idea of combining the brands on each team to help create new stars. We'll have to wait and see if Survivor Series is as sweet as its set-up.
Finally, here are the damn "O" League standings after week 6. You'll see why I don't appear enthusiastic to report them:
1 The Smashin' Masters - 1502 pts
2 Better_Than_Dan-e-o - 1274 pts
3 TheEndustry - 1237 pts
4 BigDaddyDonnie - 1231 pts
5 Phenominal_Angles - 1203 pts
6 Dan-e-o - 1197 pts
7 The Omega Ones - 1127 pts
8 D.W.I - 1112 pts
9 fabulousBagiuoIgorots - 1108 pts
10 LO Destruction - 1055 pts
11 Second City Saints - 1009 pts
12 Thrones And Patriots - 882 pts
13 TheBIGBang112 - 865 pts
14 Methods Of Mayhem - 269 pts
This contest may have been over before it started. The Smashin' Masters don't seem to be letting up on the number one spot they've held since the beginning.

Solid RAW. really cool
spots in the ladder match. Respect to Hardy for actually taking that bump on the ladder, and the picture with the article says it all about the dropkick. There's no way any Cena mark out there can tell me he's not a kiddie champ. Poopie pants?!? Umm... yeah. Great promo by Lita too. But she's been kickin Mickey ass for a while, so she'll probably drop the title at SS. I still say it's too bad Show's gonna retire too cause they've got him looking really badass lately. Did anyone else notice Shad started lickin Maria's arm? Rated RKO, cool name. Rated RKO entrance theme, not so cool. Oh and someone please get me whatever Carlito's showering with.
DAMN!
Big Show is retiring? I thought he was just taking time off!
I think Lita had the most compelling TV time of her career last night. She actually killed it on the mic. She was insanely good. She was passionate, had an issue and sounding like she was straight shooting. Awesome. And after FINALLY realizing her potential... she's leaving.
I agree with Dan-e-o ... it's lame as hell that she's leaving under the same story as Trish. We just SAW this gimmick two months ago!!
Only in the WWE women's division does the "I'm going to retire" statement get you a title run. Remember the old days when you just got burried before you left? Or, when you dropped your title well before your contract expires? I hope Lita no-shows the Survivor Series then goes to TNA with her Luchagores to set that strap on fire!

I loved the Joff Hordy (I fixed his name Dan-e-o) VS. Johnny Nitroooo ladder match. However, should a ladder match with that many spots be given away on free tv? That was easily a ppv quality match.
There's no way i could back-up cena's "poopie-pants" remark... rediculous... but i'm sure there are plenty of middle school kids calling one another that today in class, while wearing all their Cena gear... plus he executed all four of his impact moves perfectly in the main event...
Now Lita on the other hand... Dare I say Best Diva Promo Ever!?... she had my attention the whole time... what else can be said? Mickie scared me for a second after Lita's moonsault... she can sell a move... im glad i bought her in this weeks fantasy picks... cause I dont see Lita getting the Trish treatment
As far as Hardy and Nitro... Nitro really couldve done more... he had the chances, but Hardy stole the show... I know he's a heel but a ladder match is an exception to where you can take bigger spots and gain some respect from the general audience.. .either way it was still a ppv caliber match and it had length to it...
which is what the "main event" needed... they had 30 minutes to deliver a match... and we got 10... at best
Big Show looked as if he was in pain with every step he took last night... i felt bad for him
Did you really expect Nick to win over Dusty last night? cmon, he looked great in the match... he put dusty over big time... not that he needed it, there's just something about the dream that makes me laugh... you just can't hate the guy
And yes that is me at #3 this week... I dont know how i'm gonna catch up to Smashin Masters, but like i said when it first started as long as i beat danny and donnie... I'll be pleased
No accomplishment beating me
I haven't changed my roster in a month
Doesn't Jeff's middle name have an O in it somewhere? I'm not positive, can anyone out there either confirm or deny this?
I think we should permanently rename last night I-C challenger, "Johnny Nitrooo"
Or just start spelling it "Geoff Hardy".
I popped for poopy-pants only because I've always loved the name after Leslie Nielson said it in one of the "Naked Gun" movies. I'll still take the bad jokes over a bad British accent any day.
Where was the fire in Lita's belly six months ago when she needed it? That promo did more for her in 5 minutes than pretty much any match she's had this year.
Is it just me or is Ron Simmons, facially, starting to resemble George Jefferson?
Nothing like a good ol' fashioned melee to end RAW. I only wish I could afford to order Survivor Series.
Snitsky took the fire out of Lita's belly along with Kane's demonic love child. When asked for comment, Snitsky could only reply, "It wasn't my fault!"
Lita is the greatest Diva ever and she will be missed a LOT more than Trish no matter WHAT you Canucks think!
