First off, let me start by welcoming new MMA specialist, Luke Wykes (representing the U.K.! - last night's hosts of "Raw") to Tha O Show family. Literally caught in between last week's mini-feud between The Onslaught and Big Daddy, it may have gone unnoticed that the internet's fastest-growing wrestling blog is expanding yet again.
Speaking of mini-feuds (notice how Michael Cole on "SmackDown!" will always use "speaking of" as a segway, even if it has nothing to do with the next thing he talks about? - anyway, I digress) I think I'm going to have to begin one with the writers of "Raw".
Is it just me or are the DX skits overdoing it? I know I've run some hate on these skits before, but the Benny Hill-like antics (literally - did you hear the music during the comical fast-motion replay of DX's night?) seem just stupid and way too unrealistic to take their feud (with anyone) seriously.
I gotta admit though...my favourite DX segment last night was their ticket-scalping scene with Cryme Tyme. Yep, THAT Cryme Tyme. Not that this new duo is overly impressive in the ring yet...but I'm starting to allow their characters to grow on me. They have been pretty funny. And HBK's use of "jive" talk last night was 'straight up jokes, son'.
Either way, it looks like Team Old Timers' (Ric Flair and Roddy Piper) tag-team title 'run' was more of a 'wheelchair stroll' to the bingo room. I didn't actually expect Edge and Randy Orton to win the straps. I like, however that they are not only a legitimate formidable tag-team, but that they are also being given a name: Rated RKO. Makes sense, doesn't it?
I've always liked tag-team names, no matter who the two partners are. Come up with something! Put Ted DiBiase and IRS together, you get Money Inc. Throw Tito Santana and Rick Martel on a team, you have Strike Force. Put John Cena and retirement together, you get...my dream come true.
Okay, okay guys relax. I actually don't have anything negative to say about John Cena's performance last night. Here...I can actually say something nice about him. Watch. Hold on, it's coming. Uh. Hmmm. Oh yeah...he sold Umaga's thumb-to-the-throat straight into the commercial break. Good for him. He's learning.
Last night could have really been a killer night for WWE Fantasy game players if you chose Edge, Orton, Mickie James and Jeff Hardy. It's not often you see an episode of "Raw" where two different titles change hands. Had the Women's title been on the line, it would have been three title changes. DX must have earned a ton of points too...they were practically on every segment of the show...AND won a handicap match.
By the way, how pissed am I (or you) for NOT choosing Mr. Kennedy last week? Guy didn't even have a match and got 78 points! Mainly for hitting The Undertaker in the head with a microphone 24 times! Either way, look who's climbing up Tha "O" League ladder. It's your boy (not Jimmy Wang Yang) Dan-e-o. And I'm coming for Mr. (wishes he was) Better Than Dan-e-o. Check the standings after Week 5:
1 The Smashin' Masters - 1324 pts
2 Better_Than_Dan-e-o - 1107 pts
3 Dan-e-o - 1061 pts
4 BigDaddyDonnie - 1048 pts

11 Second City Saints - 847 pts

I found out about your blog from Kingdom James's myspace, since my mates and I are big 1PW fans.
I am so proud of everyone last night! All of us had signs saying WE HATE CENA, and most of the building agreed!
Also wanted you to know that we sat ringside on the camera's side and had a "O Show" sign!
We will send pictures in to you when they get processed. Cheers.
Hamish, Justine and Anna
I foresee a big week for "theEndustry" in the fantasy league... movin up 2-3 spots in the "o" league
Thanks for the shoutout man.
Hope to have a long and propserous stay on the site; hope you'll all make me feel ridiculously welcome.
Just too much Mad TV like skits on Raw last night really turned me off! It's ok with a little, but not during the whole 2 hour show.
Is it me or is HBK basically a WWESHOP whore? I don't get the back and forth title switches between Hardy and Nitro. All it does is kill the belts magnitude. Only thing funny about DX last night was Michaels talking "jive" with Cryme Tyme. Best segment off the night. Like the title says, not Rawful, but not Rawsome either
HUGE welcome to our brand new U.K. O-sters! Amazing that we had O Show signs in England. I love it! I also love how you guys hate Cena too! I can't beleive I forgot to mention him getting booed!
Cheers indeed!
You guys should make a column on the Raw vs Smackdown 2007 video game. I would enjoy that :)
Ya and maybe we'll get a free copy...
sweet.
yo Dan-e-o, you wanna make some calls tomorrow?
Shawn has never ever failed to disappoint me.
I truly believe that Shawn has another meaningful run as WWE champion in him.
What was the "Mr. Fuji bit"? I think I missed that one.
