Who the hell are they going to bring in next and try to get over as "extreme"? Well a couple weeks ago my ultimate debut-related fear was realized when the Great Khali made his appearence in ECW. That was until I realized the role he was going to play.
It wasn't Daivari who was going to be in Khali's corner, it was Khali who was going to be the ringside enforcer for Daivari. I back it.
The monster ringside enforcer is nothing new to ECW and harkens back to the days of Big Sal E. Graziano, Big Dick Dudley, 911 and most recently Big Guido.
If, and that's a huge "if", they keep it that way, I look forward to Daivari as a member of the ECW locker room as he is an extremely talented performer not to mention a natural heat magnet.
Speaking of ECW debuts, how about the debuts of Sylvester Terkay and Elijah Burke? Absolutely no cringe factor here as both Terkay and Burke are a perfect fit for ECW. There's been a strong history of shoot style fighters in ECW history. At the top of that list is Tazz who no doubt will be putting these guys over big time. Terkay and Burke will have a brighter future in ECW than on "SmackDown!" and I for one think this move makes sense.
Of course, the real big ECW news this week has got to be the announcement of the Extreme Elimination Chamber main event for the first WWECW PPV December To Dismember. This match should be huge as it pits six of the top ECW guys in a very unique competitive atmosphere. From what I can make of it, it's basically an Elimination Chamber filled with weapons. Weapons won't be needed to put on an amazing match with guys like RVD, Sabu, and CM Punk in an Elimination Chamber. There will no doubt be O-spots a plenty in this match and I'm highly looking forward to what type of PPV WWECW will put on.
A lot rides on whether or not a third brand's PPV can produce numbers. I'm optimistic about this one.
Then there's Survivor Series... Great move by the E by incorporating the ECW roster in the inter-brand traditional five on five elimination matches. I hoped for at least one ECW survival match on the card, but felt it might marginalize ECW to have a separate elimination match. As one of my fellow O-sters afforementioned, the best way to put ECW over is to have the ECW guys on the other two brands' television programs and not vice versa.
CM Punk will be joining Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and a reunited Hardy Boyz to take on Orton, Edge, Mike Knox, Johnny Nitro, and Gregory Helms. Then there's John Cena, RVD, Sabu, Kane, and Lashley versus Big Show, Finlay, Umaga, MVP, and Test.
The potential combinations in these two matches are unlimited. Hopefully it will be an opportunity for some of the ECW guys to get over on one of the E's big four PPV's, and not simply to provide warm bodies to be eliminated.
Hopefully the E will continue to cross promote ECW with the other two brands leading up to their first PPV. I suspect they will. The possibilities are endless. Why not have Sandman cane the crap out of Umaga on live "Raw" television? Why not have Balls Mahoney have a gross out eating contest with the Boogeyman on "SmackDown!"? Why not have Sabu put Coach through a table?
When ECW was re-launched it was in hopes of guys like Sandman and Sabu one day main eventing Madison Square Garden. It was in hopes that ECW could one day tour Asia and sell out every venue they appeared at. It was to bring the bingo hall based hardcore wrestling company global like both of the other WWE brands. On the eve of their very first PPV, it's crucial that they succeed in order for that to happen.

Nothing would entertain me more than to see the Sandman main event in a large arena... the Garden, the Forum, or even Wembley... the guy has Superstar Power... and I can't think of a main eventer he couldn't have a great match with...
I'm still undecided on Sabu "of today"... He just seems to be off, as oppose to 8 years ago... but i'm sure plenty will disagree

Sandman is definately a WWE type main eventer. He talks well, has a good entrance and his work rate gets worse every day.
First off let me state that i find it interesting that my brief comments get more response than the columns i'm commenting on... For that... Thank You, but does my Ego really neeed the feeding?
As far as my comment I said it would ENTERTAIN me... in full understanding that it would only work if Sandman's character really got over with the mainstream audience and he was in a program with a Superstar that was already over... and in no way did I want to come off as if it will ever happen... But as far as having main event appeal, the current spinner belt champ is pulling it off with 6 moves, mic skills, and hype... so let that marinade
I'm starting to find this site comical... not so much the site, but the readers... Someone could write an article on "how great Marty Wright is coming along" and if i wrote a comment disagreeing with them... suddenly we would have a board of Boogeyman fans (maybe... just maybe that's a stretch but its coming off that way)... but hey I must be doing something right... I'm getting comments directed toward me, people are commenting on my myspace page, and i was even remarked as being "gay"... people seem to find me and my opinions rather appealing and intriguing... Understandably...
Maybe people reply to you because you're a typical smark that talks like he knows something but doesn't know fuck all.
