Not excellent, but not crap either. Perhaps TNA management checked out my article last week and decided to put Jim Cornette on play-by-play with Don West and Mike Tenay for part of the show last night to take it easy on our ears. Probably not, but his presence was a welcome addition to the announce booth. In all fairness, West and Tenay didn't quite piss me off as much as they did last week anyway.
On to more important things, this week's "iMPACT!" was an improvement. To be honest though, I felt it was mostly due to its comedic content.
I actually enjoyed a couple of the VKM skits...particularly the one where BG and Kip are driving and BG James is complaining about the absurdity of the DX skits on "Raw" (something I've done a number of times). As he's exclaiming his disdain, the GPS system in the vehicle announces some instructions infuriating BG as he commands it to "shut up!".
Finding a Target store as opposed to the intended 'target' - WWE headquarters - was kinda cheesy...but I'm interested to see where this remake of DX's WCW invasion is going. It was interesting to see the actual camera shot of Vince's building at the close of the show. You can bet, however, that WWE will still not bat any eye to any of these "antics".
Kevin Nash's paparazzi video skit was also pretty funny. Favourite lines:
Nash: "You wanna drive that Ford Maverick the rest of your life, kid?"
Sonjay Dutt: "It's a Mazda Protege, alright!"
Also loved Nash's insistence on everyone at the X-Division meeting holding hands. Hilarious to see him and Alex Shelley swinging their embraced arms as everyone else looked on in disgust before exiting the room.
Other than the improvements in the skit section of the show...which I guess isn't saying a whole lot...I'm glad to see that Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle will be involved in a rematch. I'm not sure, however, why Kurt announced a stipulation that will have them watch each other's backs until Turning Point. I mean, why?
Not sure why Eric Young is so easily able to beat Robert Roode either...especially while wearing a turkey suit! Roode becomes the obvious turkey in this situation. How is this supposed to represent his new "push"? I'm hoping that his acknowledgement of his embarrasing defeats results in yet another character change that sees his winning ways return. I understand Young's popularity with the fans but geez!
Also, REALLY glad to see Christian Cage re-enter the title chase...one that I wish Sting wasn't even in to begin with. I totally didn't pop upon seeing Tyson Tomko appear to assist Cage in the main event, but it is kinda cool that TNA is making sense of a previously-used WWE storyline...that being Tomko's alliance with Christian as his goon/muscleman.
I also hope that Tomko's involvement will somehow allow for this new storyline to end with the beginning of a new Christian Cage championship reign.

TNA has done that before with Christian - continuing WWE storylines. Remember when Christian made reference to his "brother" winning the title?
Brothers my ass!
I thought this week's show was really good.
Impact needs 3 hours
