Ortiz - Shamrock III will be free

Earlier today, Dave Meltzer confirmed that there will be a third UFC fight between Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz, and will happen on free tv.

Meltzer said the following on his website today:

"Dana White just confirmed to us this morning that he's gotten verbal agreements to terms from both Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock for a 10/10 fight on a Spike TV special. The show will likely be held at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood, FL."

Shamrock has been completely destroyed by Ortiz in their first two fights. The rematch, which happened last month was a complete destruction, but Shamrock maintains the fight was ended prematurely.

I'm betting than Ortiz beats Shamrock even faster this time.

Ortiz/Shamrock III in Florida all hinges on if Zuffa LLC. can secure the venue along with other particulars. The card for that event in Hollywood, FL has been finalized, but no contracts have been sent out to any of the fighters.

Worst case scenario, if you're Shamrock, the fight takes place on August 17 at the UFC's "Ultimate Fight Night Live".

As far as my opinion of things go concerning Shamrock/Ortiz III, i'm doubtful this fight will even happen. Shamrock has recently stated that if there's another fight with him and Tito, that he wouldn't take it. I understand Dana White's reasoning behind another Ortiz/Shamrock fight with the whole "the fans didn't get the fight they paid for the last time" schtick, but Tito has already decisively defeated Ken two times already. Do we really need to see a third fight between the two? If I was Dana White or either of the Fertita brothers, this is what i'd do...

Give Tito a few months off to train and/or recover from the last fight, work a deal with either Pride FC or K-1 Hero's to let Tito fight someone like Kazushi Sakuraba, Youji Anjo, Dan Henderson, etc etc.

I'm just tired of seeing a legend like Shamrock get his ass handed to him.

Im with you, I dont want to see a guy like Shamrock lose to Ortiz again in such a one-sided fight because it does nothing to solidify the legend of one of (if not THE best fighters in UFC history) My question is, Shamrock v. Ortiz in their primes, who would win?

Question:
What qualifies Shamrock as one of the best in UFC History?

Sorry, but I'm just tired of people saying that so often that they believe it.

Kinda like that jackass greeseball who used to tell everyone he was the best there is, was or ever would be -- and people BOUGHT IT.

By jackass greaseball, are you referring to Shawn Michaels and/or Hulk Hogan?

Now this is where I make you look like a complete retard. Now yes, most of the guys that competed in the UFC at the same time as Shamrock, were just one dimensional competitors. Royce Gracie , Tank Abbott, Steve Jennum, Kimo Leopoldo. Then you have guys, and since the UFC at that time was more a competition than a organization, i'll include guys who didn't fight in the UFC at that time. Oleg Taktarov, Dan Severn, Ron van Clief, Guy Mezger, Bas Ruten, Masakatsu Funaki, Rickson Gracie, Renzo Gracie, Royler Gracie. So yeah, not everyone who competed in MMA at that time was "one dimensional" as you like to believe.
