Hot on the heels of Monday's announcement that Mark Henry will not settle his feud with Batista due to an injured he has sustained, the WWE now has to contend with two other talents that have been pulled from the show.
Both Bobby Lashley and The Great Khali are off The Great American Bash PPV, due to issues with thier liver. These last minute changes will really compromise the integrity of the show.
As many people know performance enhancing substances (re: steroids) are known to cause liver damage. This is not to state that this is the cause of the problem with both men, but it is certainly being widely speculated. It should be noted that many 'legal' supplements can produce these same horrible side effects.
Lashley was scheduled to face William Regal and champion Finlay for the U.S. title. As it stands now, these two members of Team Booker will be facing each other. Oy.
The Great Khali was of course to take place in the highly anticipated (?) Punjabi Prison Match with The Undertaker. The talk now is that The Big Show will take Khali's spot, OR that it could be a triple threat with Khali being "injured" early on.
Some people within the industry believe that this could be the WWE Wellness program hard at work - detecting issues, and helping wrestlers to protect themselves before things get out of hand.
In the past, both men (Mark Henry included) would be told they had to go out there and do their job (literally) unless they simply couldn't walk. This looks to be a step in the right direction. Unfortunately for the WWE, the timing couldn't be worse. An already weak pay per view now appears to be damn near unwatchable.

tuff break for all three men now would be the perfect time to push these younger athletes to for front though replace khali with umega it would be a great bout
I think the WWE should be REALLY forward thinking and take full advantage of this opportunity...
Replace Khali with a guy who wants a piece of The Undertaker. A guy who Davari knows well. A guy who fans have been DYING to see.... A guy who won't look COMPLETELY out of place in the Punjabi Prison Match....
BRING BACK MOHAMMED HUSSAN
Compromise the integrity of the GAB? Shit...the show is hardly watchable anyways.
Seeing the Big Show take part in the "Punjabi Prison Match" isn't far off the radar since he's worked with the Undertaker the past few weeks. If they (WWE) go ahead with the rumors that Khali may be cut soon, this would also be the perfect time to do so by "injuring" him in his own match.
If this truly is the Wellness Program at work, then I applaude the WWE's efforts for pulling both Lashley and Khali off the card before a more serious issue came about.
With the change of the U.S. Title match now being Finlay/Regal, it might make it halfway watchable. I can't help but think of the "Parking Lot Brawl" when I hear those two names mentioned.
Lesnar won't be coming back...at least not anytime soon.
As for Hassan...i'd love to see him back. I'm going out on a limb here by saying he's probably the best heel Vince has had in the past decade. It was insane how much heat that guy got. He was just the victim of bad timing due to real world events and WWE Creative "not being able to repackage him".
He just would've ended up as the guy that was once Muhammad Hassan. Just like Gregory Helms will always be remembered as the Hurricane and Shannon Moore will always be remembered as one of the guys in 3-Count.

Does The Great Khali need juice? Brother's 200 feet tall and a legit 8000lbs! Juice is just overkill for that dude.
Okay I cant hold back anymore I have to rip on Smackdown and I have to do it a lot. I don't care if the moderators delete this message, I NEED TO VENT!
With the injuries, the drugs, the new brand, and some stars jumping ship to RAW; Smackdown is a void. But believe me, this wasn't unforceable.
For too long the head office has turned the sport of professional wrestling into watching two jacked up lumoxes punching one another into submission. I'm tired of seeing greased up thugs develop speech impediments or wear a dress in a vain attempt to be put over. Wreslers used to be defined by what they could do on the mic or in the ring, not which freak has taken the most roids and can put on the most milquetoast match.
So you get young kids who've spent more time under weights than in the ring and you push them faster than they can handle it. And because of this, they fizzle out pretty quick, only to be replaced by the next up-and-comer.
And what about the old standbys? The perpetual midcarders who may rise to greatness only to be fodder to put over young behemoths? Guys like Benoit, Hardy, Holly, Regal, RVD & Booker T (for a while) and a few unnamed characters populating TNA right now. The truly entertaining fighters get no storyline support and fade away, or get beaten to a pulp by unskilled frustrated bodybuilders.
So smaller skilled wrestlers like Benoit and Jericho fade between putting over main eventers and winning midcard matches. Cruiserweights have become a once-a-month novelty. Veterans like Tatanka, Flair, and Undertaker take beating from unskilled freaks. And smaller sized guys couldnt possibly fight up the ranks on skill without being murdered in the process by the next Ultimate Warrior.
This is a real chance for Smackdown to overcome these difficulties. With wrestlers dropping left and right, they may be forced to push smaller guys. Work on character development. Give midcarders the mic. Let their talent shine. Create new personalities. Restart a vibrant tag division, focus on the cruiserweights. Bring back more veterans. OR... find a frustrated college football player with no other prospects... and continue what they've been doing.
you're right, tatanka isnt exactly in their league in stature; i just needed a third and couldnt think of any. My point remains, we're not going to see another Shawn Michaels or Bret Hart or Kurt Hennig or Dibiase or Flair or Steamboat or Snuka or Foley, unless they come in a supersized form. What we've got coming is a legion of Psycho Sids.
We can only hope that they end up like Sid in the dying days of WCW where he broke his leg at the ppv. Or better yet, Eric Bischoff asking Sid where his scissors were...that was fucking gold. I think I still hear Arn Anderson laughing about that moment and saying "He pwn3d you Sid, he fucking pwn3d you!".
The reason Eddie and recently Rey were pushed to the top is because the WWE fastest growing demographic is Latino.
That's the ONLY reason.
Yeah Watch-wrestling is right... good things happen to good people in the WWE (once). And yeah Mysterio is the champ, but thats only because the combined forces of Mark Henry and the Great Khali knocked off anyone they'd prefer as champions. Mysterio struggled for years to get under the boots of hack lumoxes, as did Guerrero, as did Benoit, as did Booker T and hell Guerrero, Benoit, and T aren't even small guys. If they were on Raw they wouldnt have even gotten a chance unless they juiced themselves
I realize Benoit won from HHH on Raw, but he didnt exactly have a long run after struggling for decades before they had him lose to a kid who had been in the business 2 years (and a third of that time was injured)
Eddie winning the title was a business decision. Nothing more. You want to talk about rewarding TALENT???
PLEASE.
Why was Jake Roberts never given the World Title? Why did Ricky Steamboat never get a SNIFF of the WWF belt? Why did Ted DiBiase never win it? Why didn't Dean Malenko get a fair shake in The E?
I'm curious Watch-Wrestling... you like Batista who is nothing but a body, and repeatedly say you don't like guys who are balding.... what exactly are you hinting at? Me personally, I don't give a rats ass what a guy looks like. If he can cut a promo, entertain me and WRESTLE I'm down. If not - get out of the ring.
you're right balding guys never get over. Someone tell that guy Hogan to stop tryin already!
Im not comparing Chavo and Hogan.
I'm saying physical imperfections don't mean you're not getting over .... Which was what you were getting at with "C'mon, Chavo's balding - he won't get over"
Hey what a great site keep up the work its excellent.
