Orton is the father of WWE Hall of Famer Cowboy Bob Orton, and former WWF enhancement talent Barry O.
He was of course also the granfather of current WWE star Randy Orton. Like his son Jr, Bob Sr. had his own hall of fame type career.
- 2-time NWA World Tag Team Champion (Florida version) (with Eddie Graham)
- 1-time NWA United States Heavyweight Champion (Central States version)
- 6-time NWA Florida Southern Heavyweight Champion
- 3-time NWA Florida Tag Team Champion (with Dennis Hall, Hiro Matsuda and Bob Orton, Jr.)
- 2-time NWA Central States Champion
- 1-time NWA North American Tag-Team Champion (with Buddy Austin)
- 1-time NWA Missouri Heavyweight Champion
He also had a good run in Verne Gagne's AWA where he would again find gold. He won the AWA Midwest Heavyweight title twice and the AWA Midwest Tag Team straps three times; once with Mike DiBiase (father of Ted) and twice and "Mad Dog" Maurice Vachon (uncle of Luna).
Believe it or not, he didn't officially retire from the business until July of 2000.
He spent the last few years of his life with his wife Rita in Las Vegas where he was when he passed away.

RIP BOB ORTON SR
I liked how on wwe.com they did an interview with Randy Orton and he mentioned that "he (Bob Sr.) always told me to keep my mouth shut and my ears open"
Obviously Randy never followed that advice.
God bless Bob Sr.
