The prevailing thought on Friday was that Mike Bucci would be the one to take the fall in the wake of the Signature Pharmacy report. Apparently the WWE has now terminated the contract of Nick Dinsmore – better known to WWE fans as Eugene. Many within the company thought Dinsmore would have been let go way back in November of 2005. With the wrestling world and media still reeling from the sudden death of Eddie Guerrero, Dinsmore collapsed in his hotel lobby after having overdosed on Carisoprodol – an extremely powerful, and highly addictive muscle relaxant.
With the media staring down the WWE through a double barreled shot gun, the company decided to use this incident and the passing of Guerrero as motivation to launch its Wellneess Program. Dinsmore was suspended for two months and didn’t fail any subsequent tests … until this week.
Dinsmore was referenced in a WWE press release (though theyd didn’t use his name) as a two time offender.
Over the past two years, the WWE’s policy when workers have been released has been to leave their Superstar profile on WWE.com active for a few days to pull in the additional traffic sure to come once the announcement has been made. In this case, Dinsmore’s superstar page was removed before the announcement of his termination was even made public.
Dinsmore, who made his official WWE debut in April 2004, is a 10 time OVW Heavyweight champion (an OVW record) and also held the OVW tag titles 11 times (10 times with former WWE talent Rob Conway). In the WWE he was a tag champion with William Regal. His heel turn in December 2006 lasted about as long as Umaga’s run as a babyface. Some characters just are what they are.
There would appear to be some interest in TNA right now for Nick Dinsmore, but they will need to be very careful about public perception. Picking up someone who was recently terminated because of their addictions could hurt their public image badly. Then again, it didn’t hurt much when they signed Kurt Angle! And if they decide to do another Angle Invitational, they’ll already have the previous winner under contract.
Good luck Nick.

I remember Dinsmore as being on "Death Watch" right after Eddie had died, I just never knew if "death watch" was as legit as the dirt sheets made it out to be.
With the release of Dinsmore, I personally wonder how much longer Chris Masters will be on the roster. He was another name thrown out around that time of guys on the gas, and the pain pills. Masters has a slight upside, but I wonder if his upside is as good as the potential of WWE releasing another star?
that's retarded.
Holy Shit!!!!!!! Cryme Tyme is gone too!!!!!!!
good the only midcard team less funny than cryme tyme was the killer bees but they had better flow.
